  1. Quelle magnifique surprise sous le sapin cette année ! Merci beaucoup pour ce partage de toute beauté. Meilleurs Voeux et meilleures pensées à toute votre équipe !
  2. Hello, After flying the two first missions (I actually have the whole campaign now), I can say I enjoy the atmosphere, back in the old days. I read the book when I was (much) younger so it's quite exciting to take part in the action this time. But I still have to regret some AI actions (hence my post in this thread). I really have issues with my wingmen: - during taxi, they keep bumping into me if I do not SERIOUSLY hurry along the taxiway. It's like they are ignoring the presence of my plane. I suppose this can be solved by not talking with the G/ATC before starting the engine and rolling, not tested yet. - In flight, allied AI tend to group around the same opponent, lining up two or three of them behind the same enemy, sometimes the one I am already chasing, annoying. These two points can be rather frustrating, especially the first one. I am not sure if there is something that can be done to help that ? Appart from those two first observations, I did not find the dogfights to be impossible at all. I'm definitely not an ace and nevertheless I was able to shoot down one or more enemies before flying back to base, so it's working well on that side. Note that I'm lowering the number of AI units at mission start, not sure of the impact on the difficulty level. I'm looking forward to flying the next missions now. Cheers,
  3. It is wonderful to have news from you, Barthek. I will definitely keep an eye open (or two) for the release of your textures, once again ! Happy landing
  4. Hello, I have made a custom mission to have a closer look at what the AFN-2 system does and does not. (stable version 2.5.5.33184). The beacon is modeled by a friendly vehicle emiting on 42.5 Mhz AM. I tried 1W and 10W without noticing any difference. My observations: 1. The central light of the AFN-2 instrument lights up when flying right above the beacon (vehicle). 2. The distance (NAHE) needle works only when flying relatively close to the beacon (vehicle), not further than 10 km approximatively. 3. The direction needle never works on my side. It keeps swaying randomly (rarely) left or right. I add the mission file if anyone is interested to give it a test. I am very new to the BF-109 so perhaps someone will come up with more accurate and precise infos. Best regards. test_AFN2.miz
  5. Hi ehills666 I had exactly the same issue as yours. So to solve it (not really a bug) I had to modify the mission (probably it needs to be updated by the creators): - make sure the trigger zone (only one in this mission) is large enough to cover the entire runway. By default it is rather small so it is mostl likely "player" is outside of it when the trigger should activate the gates to show the circuit. - there is also a useless trigger that does nothing (second or third, not sure now). I just deleted it. Not sure if this is necessary. By doing the above I was able to run the mission properly. Hope it helps. Ciao !
  6. Hello Mustang, A very quick reply to tell you a very BIG thank you ! I was really enjoying v1.18 in the past and now seeing it with all the improvements is a wonderful surprise. Thank you for sharing your work so generously !
  7. Hello Reflected, I am reaching two thirds of the campaign now and thought I would leave a few words. I am greatly enjoying this journey into the past. It's the first time I really take the Mustang back in its own time and it's definitely a pleasure. At first I was a little surprised by the progression system, making the campaign advance as long as you stay alive, not depending on which objective was effectively achieved. But on second thought I find it quite accurate (historically) since WWII would obviously keep going on, whatever the result of a single flight in the day ! The ambiance is very nice, even if crossing the Chanel takes a while at cruise speed ! Perhaps it would be nice to have more radio chatter but I know it means lots of recording as well ! The Easter Eggs are a very nice additions. I'm looking forward to flying the last missions, Best wishes for your next piece of work, if any !
  8. I was already a big fan of the latest 1.18 version, the details were especially gorgeous. Now with the 1.29 version, I really enjoy the very natural transition from one spot to another and also how it blends with the other components of the map (cities and trees mostly). Both the scale of the details and the colours make the landscape look like it's really one whole scene, if that makes sense. A true pleasure for the eyes !
  9. Yes, just like Mustang said, the more often you repeat a texture, the more you create a certain "pattern" at high altitude. This is why I consider my solution as a compromise. The exact values I modified are the two belows, all others are the ones set by Mustang. noise1PerSquare = 3, -- 1.3 тайлинг дальних шумов noise2PerSquare = 32.0, -- 8.0 тайлинг ближних шумов And of course... always make a backup before editing config files ! Cheers
  10. Hi Mustang, This recent 1.18 version becomes my favourite one. I really would like to thank you for the beautiful work you are sharing with everyone. Since I fly both hi altitude jets and helicopters, I found some compromise by tweaking your config file. I use 3.0 per square for the main noise and 32 per square for the small noise. Just like you said in a previous post, I guess to everyone their preference. Best regards and thank you again.
  11. Finally there ! So first thing first... last mission score was 80 ! I would like to thank you Baltic Dragon for two main positive points about your campaign: 1. Very immersive, full of live, complete, with lots of challenges and really creative missions. 2. Excellent support on all questions or possible bugs, it really tells how much you put your passion into your work ! Now the little glitches I encountered here or there were possibly not the fault of how the missions were done. You really added lots of complexity to each mission, the price to pay is that at some key points, we are very dependent on what the AI does (or does not!). I had some issues at some point and well... a little frustrating (I admit I had to bypass a misison where Tornados would never leave their anchor point for example). I can only recommend this campaign to all who have finished the initial M2000C Caucasus campaign and who are looking for another challenge. My best regards and thank you again !
  12. Hi everyone, My attempt on mission 15 was really successful, all stages worked fine..... except for the Gazelles ! We managed to shoot them down but one of them remained on the ground. I emptied all my guns on it (wingman refused to attack, as reaper flight). But the remaining Gazelle was still counted as alive, despite severe destruction (see picture). So I have a suggestion for this kind of situation, that I used when making my own missions: maybe add a trigger that does the following : "IF Gazelle is damaged AND Gazelle speed = 0 AND Gazelle altitude AGL = 0" THEN "Gazelle is destroyed" In my view that would not be really cheating, since the Gazelle would be out of combat and then it allows the A-10 to finish the mission properly. All other aspects, it was a very nice mission to fly, with lots of events and decisions to make, a pleasure.
  13. Hi everyone, I tried to understand the DRYAD encryption and I believe there is a mistake in the example provided in the kneepad. Or it is me who is wrong, also very plausible! The example tells us to go "Mike Foxtrot" and it gives us a SET LETTER of "Delta", which is correct to this point. (see picture) But then, from what I understand from the DRYAD, we should STAY ON THE SAME ROW as the SET LETTER to choose our letters that will then point to the reference digits that are always the same. Otherwise, this SET LETTER has no real influence. So, to obtain the code "2 4 6 6 2" we should actually provide the cypher text : "Victor Foxtrot Bravo Oscar Uniform", taken from the row where the SET LETTER was found. This is my understanding but it would probably require the confirmation or correction from someone more qualified, an active or veteran pilot perhaps ? Very interesting system anyway and quite a challenge to deal with while piloting.
  14. Hello, Mission 10 tried two times, unable to finish because of enemy flights not appearing/not engaging. DCS stable version 2.5.3.24984 1. The three Tornado flights engaged the ground targets and destroyed them (confirmed by radio) 2. At some point we (chevy flight) are ordered to engage enemy fighters (F-5's) But as soon as we rejoin them, they have already landed. Then nothing happens, no radio message, no Mirage 2000-5 coming, Tornados go RTB and when I land I get a score of 50. I am pretty sure I followed the orders and was on the correct radio channels. Some trigger in the mission must be very sensitive, since I read above that for some people the mission works fine. I'm not sure what point I missed there.
  15. Hello, I would like to add a head-up about M07. (possible spoiler) By sending the first group to destroy the AAA and then coordinating the attack with all chevy flights, we managed to destroy all ground targets, pretty quickly and we did not loose a single plane. But then things go really insane (maybe it's the purpose though :helpsmilie:) For strange reason, mission command never orders us to back off and rtb, despite ALL objectives are destroyed and confirmed. And then we have waves of enemy fighters coming at us. For the last flight of 4 F-5, Chevy flights just do nothing despite they are ordered to engage. It ends up in a never ending fight between our F-16's and the f-5's. At some point I tried to join but using guns in night time... Finally I got shot down by a F-5 that I never saw at all. I think the AI has some kind of x-ray goggles as they do not seem to be annoyed by the night. So to that reagrd, I think the difficulty is not totally balanced. I read above that this mission can be won by requesting RTB after all objectives are destroyed. Is it the tactical choice that is expected ? Or are we supposed to obtain full air superiority before RTB ?
