  2. @EtherealN: i know about that, thats why i said ED finishe the job :-) and to it, they sure did more then we had done so far, cause they had a big interest in it :-) @ divide et impera: well new models for planes need to be done and produced too. unfortunatly no one in the community ever brought the fact up that it should be paid for too :-) so just think of the fact in th course of progress, all models need to be improved, and guess what, in a few years, lets say maybe in 4 years, every game will be in 3d vision, so what do you think will happen then? do you think the models will be worse? every generation of game and in addition the any new 3d software will bring new features too, so let me say it this way. when we would not be limited to the game engine and hardware, i could actually build a mig29 that gets very close to the real one, lets say maybe 99% close, cause do to all the little features of the new 3d progs, and enough time, you will not see any diffrence to the real one, besides the limits of th graficengine :-) do you yell for a new mig29 model again in 4 years too? we all know that the birds are important too, but who pays that? who pays the time of the guys who make it? most of the time the relationship pays for it, but not in advantage of the one who makes them and believe me when i say that from first hand. i have spend so many hours on the f15c, that my former girl asked me once if i want to marrie my comp. so why should people produce something when they get thier ass kicked from every direction, cause what use do i have as a 3d artist from comments in a forum like " ohh great, keep it going, it is so wonderfull, bl bla bla". it is nice to hear it, but when i want to be acknowledged for something then i want to be acknowledged from people i can look in the eyes, if i need that. but most of us, i assume that, do not need that in a forum :-) people make things cause they want to make it, and as a pro bono, they might get payed for it too, even when it is just a littlebit :-) and at last, to correct you in terms of this conversation. you might want to read over your postings again, cause your last post is not really referring to your earlier posts, it cant be, otherwise i do not understand your english, which might be possible too :-)
  3. @supraman2turbo: well i think why Ed ended up with nevada was more the fact, that the map was allready developed to some certain extend and that we were working on the base at the stage, when we broke up. there was something in development and they supporeted our efforts, so why should you let something down when you supported it, and when it was allready in development? the fact that the next DCS fighter will be an american has nothing to do with the nevadamap, in my opinion. just think of a map called WORLD, how do you want to legalise the next DCS fighter? should it be the glider of the wright brothers, so nobody can say, ohh it is in favour of that or that country? just leave it the way it is, the next module will be an american fighter, (although i hopw they realease 2 fighters, an us and a russian one :-)?:-),) without any reasons to the map. cause we all do not know why ED choose an US fighter, that are only assumtions, that only WAGS and the managing team of ED can set right and state !

  5. to everbody, the discussion about the extra pay is senceless, cause, there are some points that you have to look at. first, other companies do bussiness the same way, just a wink at the poor add on models for FS that were developed and sold for hard cash. alot of models lacked of detail, esspecially when i look at the fighters, but people bought them, cause they wanted them. i am not an owner of dcsA10 , but i probably will buy it when it is out here as a box, and for me, it is my decision if i want to pay for nevada or not. it might be a great map, in details etc etc, i even worked on nellis 3d objects and the base in the beginning, but nobody of simmod ever thought of the map to become what it is today, thanks to luckybob :-), great work dude ! we started to make it for free, but unfortunatly the simmod group has fallen apart. what do you think would have happend when we would have stayed together. do you think we would have given it to the community for free? maybe, but i remeber working on the models for the base. we met at diffrent times, for me most of the time at night, nights without sleep. we worked hard on the map, partially, and don´t you think it is worth to pay the people who worked on the project. i think people, esspecially of this community should get the fact, of getting things for free, out of thier heads! why? has anybody of you, anybody of this community paid any money to the 3go team, who made the su27 model, with all the hate and love that is involved in such project? hav i gotten any support or any money from the community, when i was working on my f15c albino? simple answer, NO, NO, NO actually, most of the people here do not know how much workload such a single plane for example is, and normally we did all that in our free time, without hanging out with our girls, just because we love the sim, and a map is even a way bigger deal then a 3d model of a plane!!! try to develop a map alone, have fun with it, i guess we will not see it released in 2 or 3 years, add a 0 to it, this may come close, when you have no support by others, who work on the same project. and i speak of a map that is similar to the upcoming nevada mod. (in some way i hope they could realise what we dreamed of, a complete las vegas with every freaking house, but i assume not :-() we never asked for any payment, and i think when we would have done so, even just 1$ would have been discussed by most of the members, with the fact that it should be for free and that they would not be willing to pay for it, although we had the idea of financing new projects and the simmod forum with the income. just think about the fact, 36000 users, ok, a new 3d model for a plane, with permission of ED sold, for 1$ or 1€, and maybe only 5000 - 10000 downloads, reality probably would have beens less downloads, would make a payment, or a found of maybe 5000$. we could have payed the HP of simmod for another 2 or 3 years and also a SIMMOD TEAMSPEAK for everybody to join for free :-), and start new projects, maybe things we would have had to by software for or models from other people, cause we would not have had the time to develop them by ourselfs, do to the complexity of the model. maybe we would have had the money to buy other satelitepictures of diffrent regions in the world and after the nevada release could have started with new maps. these are facts that should make clear, why ED is purchasing money for the nevadamap, cause they have finished the product, cause we were not able to, no matter which reasons we had. so what i want to say as a final word to this is, that ED probably will do exact the same thing with the money what we would have done, if we would not have split up. you see, there is a fair reason to it, why they make the people pay for it. you still have the choice if you want to have the product or not, the same choice you have when you go into a shop and buy a coca cola, instead of just going home and get yourself a water, which seems to be free, although it is not, cause the water is included into the rent, at least thats the way it is handled here :-) so i do not understand all the bitching about paying for something that is involved with alot of work. just allways remember, not even death is for free, you have to give your life, the get death, fair traid, isn´t it? i hope i was not to offensive on this, cause this is something that bothers me for years now in this community !!!! p.s.: might be the reason why some projects were never finished or released by some talented guys i know of this community,including me, sorry to say that, although the projects were very promissing and everybody wanted to have them, FOR FREEEEEEEE !!!!!!!!!:lol:
  6. hey guys, please stop attacking eachother, cause this brings us all to nowhere. it does not matter if he got his f16 done yet. i myself have not finished my f-15c albino either :-), do to the fact that gys was faster :-) lol but to some point you are right, the way he represented his opinion my have been a bit harsh, but this is just the typed word, which has no expression of real feelings either. john is right with the size of the maingear. the wheels in comparrison to the picture of the real one are too small. to me it looks like the maingear wheels are double the size of the frontgear wheel, at least it looks like it on the foto of the real jet he posted. so he is right, the wheels should :-) be adjusted to a bigger size, just the way he presented it was not the best. do we all agree to that? cause i really would not like to see such work be destroyed in the forum in such manner, because some people think they have the right to go over the edge and be rude to eachother ! so presidio, you might want to take a look at the wheels again, maybe :-) ?
  7. well john, i just looked at some pictures of the a4, and the wheels are really tine in RL too. do not know how they managed to land on carriers with that, but it tells me something though. the bird is a light weight fighter :-)

  12. @riptide: thanks to your help and not giving up on a fellow FC2 comrade :-) your explenations helped alot too. little things make the difference in life :-P i lokked at your file, and compared it to my corrected one. i just decided for now to delete the lines of the empty slots, but you are right, they are left for further upgrades, cause we have to test the weapons and evaluate what would be reasonable for combat and what not :-) many thanks to you bro, from germany :-) @all: ok, now it works :-) 2 weeks of searching, and such a little detail caused so much trouble :-) thanks to riptide, the man of the hour, who saved my comp and my cougar , from flying out of the window :-) now only one thing needs to be done. to write a modman file :-) after that is done, i will write a resume and a how to do, for everybody and what to pay attention to. cheers boom boom

  14. well i think this discussion is pointless here. guys, we all do not know what the production fighter will look like. remember, the yf22 is now over 20 years of age. it took 15 years for the lockheed martin group to get the raptor in the air as usual service product. now think ahead 15 year in terms of the pak-50, which probably will not even be named that way anymore. i guess it will be something more like, SU-60 or something like that. to the radars and the turbines. well, it is very simble. the modern radar systems are that good, that the can even distinguish between f16, f15, mig29, mig21, su27 and so on. did you guys know that the f15 uses for the ID of the radarcontact, which it shows on mfd screen, also in real life, not just in game, the typical wavelength of the radarreflections of each engine type for the certain opponents, like mig29 and su27 f16 and so on? i hope you guys understand what i mean with that :-), my english just droped in the toilet, lol, but you maybe realise that even an old f15 uses the engines of a bogey to id the type of aircraft. this in mind, makes even doupt that any plane can be stealth the way we think of. the only thing is, what can be done is the change of the time till detection, but stealthy, i think not really. imagine an arh missile, ok, that is guided maybe and picks up a f16 or mig at 10nm, for example. the thing is, it will pick up the f22 or the t50 at maybe 1nm, but it can still pick up its target, so stealth is no guarantee for invulnerability. point
  15. hi riptide, well i replaced all 4 files manualy that are needed for a rearm of a su27, the rearm.lua, su27.lua, wingmencommandplane.lua and the rc-rearmingsu27.res files the funny thing is, it does not work. i place a red su27 on an airfield, on a ramp with a cold startup. so the airfield i am based on is the same coalition. next is i use a slick su27 without weapons and after that i want to rearm. i see the menue, nearly in a correct way, have to adjust a few little things to it, but the worse thing is, that the controller and chat tell me that it copies the rearm action, but eventually it happens nothing. really, nothing. no weapons are rearmed, so end up here in chaos, and frustration, cause, i have no clue, why it does not rearm. i also replaced the files in the ka50 folder, cause i also have installed blackshark, but even that was no solution to the problem. i do not know why it does not read the rearm lua file? i use notepad++ to edit the file and can save it as lua too. so i think i am doing it right. i really turn crasy here, and would really appreciate some help here. cheers boom boom
  16. hey riptide, when i figured how to handle the problem, then i figured that i have to add a2g again :-) just tested the mod of the 104th again and did not know untill today that the tv guided weapons work :-) how awesome is that. funny thing, i fly lomac for nearly 6 years now and have never know about that :-) cheers boom boom

Hi everybody out there, after a few weaponmods were released for certain servers like the 104th and the =4c= server, I wanted to write a new weaponmod for internal use and maybe also external publication. I have done such thing before, so I acctually know that I have to rewrite the rearm.lua file and make the according scripts. Also the planefiles, the res files have to be rewritten and also the plane.lua file. Acctually i went the way that i unpacked the modmanfile of the the 104th and took a look at the files, to compare them and get back into scripting, after i have been absent to lomac for nearly 1 year, do to some private things. so after i opened the files and i rewrote the entries and also all the other files that were needed. now comes the problem. i tried to manually overwrite the files in the FC2 folders, done by copy paste. i fired up the singleplayer fc2 and wanted to see if i can reload the way i wrote the rearm.lua file. i could see the rearm menu in the right order, but my unloaded su27, for example was not loaded with weapons. i tried mayn things but nothing happend. when i installed the normal backup files, or even the mod via modman, everything worked properly. do to this problem of not loading weapons i am stuck in the progress of making the mod, but i have no idea why this happens. i did not want to write in the original files for now, cause i am not sure what i have done wrong, because to my understanding it should be ok for the progress, to overwrite the files in the folders by copy-/ paste and FC2 should be able to read the files. did i maybe use the wrong editing program for saving the lua files? i could save the files as lua files too so it should not be the problem i think, but maybe someone can tell me which program i should use to be sure that i used the right program, and if so, if i need any plugins too. this question is just to have an answer and for me to check if i used the right things. further, do to the fact that i do not want to make everything manually for online play, i would like to write a new modman package. i could not find any documantation on modman, and i still use the modman 7.2.0, did not load the new modman yet, do not know why, but thats the fact :-) i looked through the modman file from the 104th too and figured how to write the modman file in basic, nbut i still have the problem, that on the right buttom the misc sign is read, and thats where i fígured occured my troubleshooting with modman. for a test i replaced the 104th files with mine and made a modman rar file, but when i uploaded the file with modman in the installer it showed a red misc sign on the right lower area of the modman window. thats probably the problem case why it does not load the files as a modman package correct, so thats why nothing is changed in lomac. what do i have to do in the misc area and in which order, to make a modman package, esspecially a working one :-) ? mybe riptide could help me, cause he is the one who made the 104th weaponmod :-) when anybody could help me out in details it would be appreciated alot by myself and some of my wingmen. sincearly boom boom p.s.: i would offer to write a detailed instruction on how to make such a mod and post it here in the forum, so that everybody could find it easily, cause i searched the forum, but did not end up at the right topics, unfortunatly.
  21. ok, to cut this short, the guys who bother about the mig29g should get in contact with alpha from the vjs161. this might be something even for the devs from ED, cause he knows more about this bird then anybody else i know, for many reasons i cannot mention here in puplic. www.vjs161.de is the homepage of the squadron and you might want to contact him. i do not know how soon he will be able to reply though. just to help you guys out about the mig29g and its abilities :-) thats all i can do for you
  22. one of the museumed is located in a hangar at the former gatow airfield in berlin, germany, which is now the german air force museum. luckily i am now living like 1 miles away from that hangar :-), but not for long unfortunatly

RVV-AE is in basics the same like the r77, just the airframe of the r77 is smother and smaller, so as a plus, which missile research was given up in advance for which missile? and which missile was improved by a french companie shortly after the wall came down? any guesses? i´ll solve it R77!!!!! followed by r77m + so you get the point?
