  1. ok the good old padlock threat ice you are correct what you mention with the missiles. padlock in a dogfight is diffrent, you have to see the bandit before you can padlock him, and when he is in your six, you can loose the visual contact to him easily when he stays to long in the dead zone of view. in real life we have a command that is called padlock too. and i symbols nothing else then the pilot is unable to take the eyes of the target or he risk using the visual contact well what ever will happen with the padlock on servers, the guys who have track ir could have an advatage, but do not have too, depends on the pilots
  2. hi gentelmen, well this hog looks awesome. i am looking forward to fly it in lockon and have some nice fighting with it. now i have a new graka too and also installed some stuff for lockon, so i can imagine that it will turn aout awesome :-) keep up. i hope i can do such a good job on the f-15c too yeniceri, thanks for the offer to help with the f-15c, i will come back too that later when i have proceeded working on it and the blackbird. ahh by the way, is it possible to move the afterburner in lockon? the postition and lenght of it?

  6. this is more something for yeniceri, or anybody who knows 3d max very very well i have the problem, that there is a very ugly egde on the bottom of the fuselage. i figured that it appears cause the middelpart of the body is made of a cylinder and the sideparts, the 2 jetinakes are made of a box. to get a complete body i have attached the 2 jetintakes to the middle fuselage area and formed everything so that it looks nice and smooth. now at the edge where i have combined the 3 objects, i get at the bootm area of the fuselage an ugly edge. it appears to me, that this happens cause the prior have been 3 diffrent bodys that became 1. now here is my essential question, how do i get this edge smoothed? ahh the edge only appears when i render here the picture the edge only appears at certain angles of view. like you can see on the picture. on the right side there is the edge but not much on the left side. when i turn and render froma diffrent angle, the edge appears at diffrent spots. i would be very very pleased to get an answer on that issue greetings borchi_2b (boom boom)

    hey yeniceri, it is freaking awesome, like that ;-) i like the AB very much. do you know if it is possible to move the AB of a plane, if you know about it, maybe you can pm me, cause it might be important to the Blackbird issue thanks borchi_2b

  11. yeah yeniceri my hero is back again ;-) well i allready have a question but will proceed now befor i post you a picture, some stuff that has to do with an edge at the bottom, but you will see it, then. but that still has time ;-) yeah how i allways said, i try to make it a nice as possible and try to use not to many polygons :-)

  14. first is your friend a real pilot who has ever been able to fly supersonic at low level or near anything like it? how can he say it feels slow? what reference does he have

  16. i guess there will be only a flyable f-15e for videos, wse will not be able to use the weapons in any way. when the f-15c is done it might be possible to make a f-15e
  17. hi tek i try too, just have to refresh my comp do to some issues then i can have a first try to export the model to 3dmax 8 to put the bird into lomac. might take a few more days, when everything is good then, i can start with the animations so all just be a bit paitient ;-)
  18. just one little question, isnґt the r-27ea a legal weapon for the su27 of today? i can remember when i talked to some guys form the sukhoi company here in berlin on an airshow, that they told me it is possible to have such weapons in use with the su27 but the missiles are very expansive and would only be used maybe in the worst case. maybe it was just a marketing strategic, who knows
  19. well the thumbs up is just for the leader and wingamn, so it is more something for the squadflying or for example something like locerf, but it is a nice goody. ahh i have so many ideas and there are so many things i would like to built, for example i would like to replace the f-117 with a nice model of a b2, lol, but ours would not cost 1.2 billion $ when it crashes so many thing i have in my mind, unfortunatly grafic designers are limited just by that stupied hardcode, damn. i wish there would be no barrier for me, i have so many ideas also with the f-15. then we could make own arguments etc, making new lighting and also strobes and flashlight ........ what i really would like to know is, when we fly at night, we always have this ugly looking pilot, is there a way to change that with the new pilotmodel and also the new f-15 model? hmm, one thing before i go to bed, i think we as a group of designers should maybe get a page or have a page, where we can upload 3dmodels, as a model file, for example, i like the acesII of the falcon block 20 threat. we could built a resource only for the modelers where the is a databox with many maodel, made buy the guys who work on lomac for free and in thier spear time, which we could use as community to save time when modelling and using a catalog of 3d models, what do you guys think of it? this should be a way to keep lomac alive and maybe get a bit more independend from ed or ubisoft, although there is the hardcode. maybe when we can manage that, people will pay more attention to the communtiy, then before and we could make modules that maybe ed could integrate easy into DCS so that we gat back our loved planes and maybe some more, like f-18 or mig29k that just one thought that came up to me last night. i think if we can manage to get such thing developed, that not everybody should be able get acces to the modells, maybe each desigenr should have a folder where are pictures of the modules they could offer, examples like seats, pilots etc, and each person that want to use something that was done, has to aks the designer for permission, announces in the model, when it is done where he got certain parts from, and gives credits to the guys who helped out. this could be one way to do it but well it is just a single thought of some lone ranger in the woods of lomac :gun_sniper::music_whistling: p.s.: the pilot will get the new helmsystem (cuing helmet) like the one i were in my avatar @cristi: thanks for the offer. i think i have about 1500 pictures of all diffrent eagles on my comp :-), should be enough i hope
  20. hey super kungfu, that sound reasonable to me the thing is, i thought of the oxygenmask argument, when you start your engines, cause that is the time most of the pilots close thier masks. at least shortly afterwords the engines are running so we could make that with the helmglass connected to the stairs, and when he has it down, he could post thumbs up :-)
  21. hi guys, i am happy to get that much feedback at the first day, allready. well my cousin flew the 86-0159 at the RAF Lakenheath for 7 years and i have visited him at Lakenheath some times, so i hope to know where the important parts of the eagle are. well for sure it will be a lom model and everybody will be able then to make thier own skins, and also the squads can make for every pilot an own slot with names etc, thanks to the cdds slots that are available then and editable i do not know how fast i will be with the f-15, but i guess you will all get the info of progress via this forum or www.sim-mod.com about the f-15d, well i thought about the f-15 as a base for all the other versions. it should be easy to make out of my final f-15c a d model, so well if there is enough time, we will see if i can fullfil your dreams. i thought about a f-15e to but that bird would only be available for videos, cause there is no way to toss bombs with the f-15 in lomac so guys, please feel free to post any ideas you have for this bird, although it is still in the beginning, but i should think about animations allready in the beginning, which is important for many parts of the bird, cause sometimes it is good to know what should happen to organise the modeling. i ahve some idea of the animations for the pilot, when you start the engines the pilot could close his mask for example. then when he closes the canopy he could pull down his facemask (helmglass) and put one thump up when the canopy is nearly closed. that are just ideas of what could be done at that argument for example. maybe that is some input for you guys, what i am thinking about so then be creative and make some posts with some reasonable ideas hope to see some nice ideas greets borchi_2b p.s.: can somebody post a link to the eagle threat of DCS, would like to have a look at it ;-)

  24. hey viper i am not sure nut picutre number 18 does the leader have the number 86? i am not sure if dirk2 has the number 66, so i try to figure if that is our flight if so, it looks reall nice ;-) thanks anyways for the nice pictures
