  1. Merry Christmas to you to, sir.
  2. Merry Christmas to you too. I planned on getting at least one day of painting in through the holiday, but was too busy. I'll resume these as this week progresses. I spent about 1.5 days hand drawing the Steel Magnolia font on the 1991 CAG bird as I simply could not find that font for the life of me. Also spent a good bit of time fixing the "Warlords" and "Marines" text on the tanks. Probably about 2.5 days. Lots of different tanks on these skins. The text compresses with the model's mesh toward the front of the tank so you have to warp it back. And you have to warp it across a seam in the model. Pain in the butt, but they are done. Here's a few photos of completed birds. They are definitely stout looking in game. Note the tail lettering on the 1997 XO bird. It's was changed to BM in 1997 just before the squadron was shut down. I also did the 1996 version with VM on the tail as seen in the lithographs posted earlier in this thread. Also of note is the camo on the pilot helmets. The Desert Storm era birds will have period correct Chocolate Chip Desert camo and the others will have the typical Marines Woodland camo as they should. Thanks to Carl for pointing that out to me. Take a look at the tanks on the first few pictures I posted and the tanks on these below. Proper scale is everything in creating a convincing replica in the game. That first pic below just oozes authenticity to me. Everything is scaled correctly. It looks badass to be frank. I will spend whatever time is necessary to get it right. The results below are what I'm after when I paint.
  3. Interesting that the issue was pretty much nearly resolved and usable until after the increase in levels. The whisking is back with a vengeance. Do you have a copy of the first update that you did? Wish I wouldn't have deleted it. It was much improved for me than the latest 1.1.1.
  4. Whisking appears to have be reintroduced in v1.1.1.
  5. Same problem here.
  6. Putting the final touches on the 91-92 CAG and XO and the 96-97 XO. Once I get them done, I'll use them as a base for all the others. It's coming along nicely.
  7. Cool. I was able to get it back by right-clicking the app in the task bar and clicking "Maximize."
  8. Hehehehe! You're going to like this pack, dude. I've just about got 4 of them done so far. I'll be doing the following: 1986-1989 1991-1992 1996-1997 Three different packs, each with at least 5-6 birds in them. Here's a few shots of early work on one of the 1991 birds and one of the 1996 birds. Much has changed since these were taken. Namely cockipit warning decals, striping on the inboard vertical stabs on the 01 color XO bird, cut away the no-slip walk and reduced it's visibility significantly so the stripe extends across the lex as it should, proper camo on the pilot's helmet and flight suit for the era, etc. I'll be increasing the size of the "Warlords" decal on the tanks. I also have to hand make the "Steel Magnolia" decal for the 1991 CAG bird. I spent all day Saturday trying to find the correct font with no luck. They'll be right when they are done. Trust that.
  9. My problem is, the "restore app window" function is failing. I made the mistake of minimizing the app. Now I cannot get it back, even after quiting and restarting the app. Windows sees the app is running and open, but the app is nowhere to be found. It's almost as if it's off screen. Thing is, I have one screen and am not running an extended desktop. I have no way of getting the app back on my desktop.
  10. Thought you guys might want to check this out.
  11. Working on them now.
  12. Nah, didn't work.
  13. Let me try that. Thanks Panzertard. The tracks are for the Mover vs. Gonky vid Mover just posted on his website. I couldn't get the first two tracks from Mover's cockpit to run.
  14. No one has any idea what might cause the track to load but all assets are frozen with engines and lights running?
  15. Hi Guys, I have an issue I don't know how to resolve. I've got three track files. The first one plays back fine when I load it in the replay console in DCS. Oculus head tracking functions fine. Recorded that file using ShadowPlay and it's perfect. Then I load the next track. At the map screen I press Pause/Break as I did with the first mission and about 20 seconds later the mission loads in the cockpit. I click the FLY button and everything seems alive, Clock is counting down on the F-18 HUD, engines are running, strobes are on, but all AI aircraft are frozen in air or on ramp, strobes and engines running. Nothing moves on my aircraft. It's as if the track is waiting for me to unpause it, but when I hit Pause/Break, the replay truly pauses and engines sounds stop as well as strobes on all aircraft, including mine. I really need to get this track recorded. What the heck? I have the Inferno script in the mission file and even tried stripping out the script from the track file and reloading the track. The script still runs in the track file though. I'm wondering if that is what's causing the issues. I don't think so because the same script is in the first mission that loads right up.
  16. Awesome! Thanks.
  17. Sorry it's taking me so long to get on these. Soon though.
  18. Grab my VFA-204 Camo packs from the download section. You're free to use the tan flight suit if you need it. Great looking skin by the way.
  19. Some of you might know what this means. Working on it as I post this. I have two more days to turn it out.
  20. That's the one thing I have yet to learn, roughmets.
  21. I'll add my experience with real flight for the first time here since we're on this topic. I think it depends on the person. Back in 1996, I was given a free introductory flight by a friend, whom I set up MS Flight Sim '95 and all the controls for. He'd just bought a Piper Cherokee and wanted to use the sim to help him learn the instruments and what not. I'd been flying PC sims for about 9 years at that point. So, I show up at the airport and meet my buddy's instructor. We hop in a Cessna 152 out at Lakefront Airport in New Orleans. We went through the checklist, I flipped all the switches as he called them out and turned the key. She fired right up. We briefly spoke about what the flight plan would be and he told me to taxi out to the active. I taxied to the active, took off, flew the plane for 40 minutes, did a perfect touch and go, greased the hell out of it, went back around in the pattern and landed the aircraft again, although I flared about 2 feet high. Still wasn't a bad landing. I will say, my right leg was shaking uncontrollably when he made me take off. I kept asking him to take it and he refused. Said I was doing fine. He kept opening the door too, causing the plane to drift to the left. I wanted to beat his ass but I had to fly the plane. LOL! The only time the instructor touched the controls was when he reached over and turned on the carb de-ice on initial base. Other than that, it was all me. After we landed, he asked me, "Are you sure you've never flown before? Ever?" My answer was "Nope! Never." He told me I should get into flying. Being colorblind, I couldn't make any real money in the long run so, I never did pursue it. I would have been a good fighter pilot. My eyes kept me out of the running for it. So, yes, you can in fact fly a plane with nothing more than simulator experience. In fact, I think it's easier to fly a real plane. I have no doubt I could jump into a Hornet and sail it off the end of a runway. I'b be nervous I'm sure, but I could do it. Would need a D model with an instructor in the back just in case I freaked and passed out or something. LOL!
  22. It's not my throttle setup. The Hornet is the only plane that behaves this way. I'm not the only one that has the issue either.
  23. I found the the track clip is actually not more precise. In fact it's worse. Turn your head too far to the side that the track-clip is mounted on and you've lost signal. Your face blocks it. Nevermind the extra wire that gets tangled up in your headset wires and the poorly engineered clip itself that breaks after 6 month of use. It's a gimmick and it's garbage IMO.
