  1. What I did- obtained IR lock with R60M missiles on outer pylons and fired both missiles but target was not splashed. What happens- ir lock tone does not go away even after no missiles remain, target has fled, and switches were configured to a different mode than IR. The tone even persists after landing and repairing and shutdown. How often it happens- I've had it 3x in 2 evenings of flying. I didn't count how many IR locks I has when it didn't happen.
  2. I bet it's reading one fore and another one aft. Uncouple them and assign one, then couple them again to play.

    RWR stuck lock?

It would also be nice to be able to bring my modern police radar/laser detector from home and stick it up by the HUD. It would be a major improvement to my survivability lol.
  4. I have it a lot that I'll get a lock tone which never goes away. It has all the lights and the tone and I can do whatever I want to try break a lock but it'll never go away unless I bank steeply. It may or may not start with an actual lock. Am I doing something wrong or is it a bug or feature?
  5. I came to start a thread but this one wasn't hard to find. I came to say how much this module impressed me. Everything from the sounds to the cockpit are extremely well made and immersive. The flight model is superb and probably the best thing about this mig. Although I came to DCS for the western aircraft, I'm staying because of the eastern aircraft. This module sets the bar for everyone else. I plan on getting to know this baby inside out, and I look forward or even more impressive work to come! All in all, a excellent product here by Leatherneck; especially for the first try.
  6. To say "nobody is there so I won't join" is to create your own problem. Whenever I join a empty server it's populated within the hour, usually much faster. If everyone had the above mindset then there would be no multiplayer. Also how can one complain about a locked server? These servers belong to people and they have the right to lock them if they want to. Nobody complains about how you lock your car do they? Besides, if you want to play on that server so bad most of the time you can get the pass from teamspeak or join their squadron. I think it's pretty darn good actually. There are many open-to-public servers available (mine included) and they're usually not full so you can play using other peoples equipment whenever you want.
  7. Thing is, you say casual and then you say maybe you'll meet up ones or twice a week, and you'll be like minded. Ok, but are the meets required? Because it's not very casual to have rules about attendance. Then again nobody wants a squad full of people who never play. Do you have to be like minded? What is like minded because I can't read your mind. If we're not like minded then maybe we'd run into some issues so maybe you'd have to make some sort of guidelines on how and what to play right? Again, a step away from casual. I'm not saying your idea sucks, obviously many people do start successful casual groups. All I'm saying is that starting a group isn't a trivial thing to do, and no matter how casual it is, leading it will be serious business. The only exception I can see is if you're already playing with like-minded people and you're not open to taking more into the group. Then I can see how you slap tags onto what already exists and call it a squadron.
  8. Savage77th is looking for mature teamwork-oriented pilots to join in coop, TvT, and squadron vs. squadron events. We are serious in the way of teamwork and tactics but we never let anything get in the way of good old genuine fun. Minimum age is 21. If you value teamwork, tactics, maturity, and fun above all then we might be right for you. We don't have participation rules but we do remove people who fell off the earth from our roster regularly. As usual, you get out what you put in. http://www.s77th.com or visit us on teamspeak. I believe our "About Us" page explains things well: http://www.s77th.com/Aboutus.php
  9. Hello guys, the s77th server is down for a while because we're moving it to a new data center. Although we miss our server we are still playing just as much, raiding the other public servers that squadrons are graciously making public. Thank you other squadrons and we hope to have our server back pronto.
  10. I think I find most of them but how would I know all the ones I miss? With the f15 especially because in the rus fighters i don't run the radar a whole lot. Either way, if I'm scanning, which I always am unless I'm zeroing in on something, I think I see them all at around 30 nm, when the chopper is over water I seen them out to 50-60 nm.
  11. I voted for Apache A,D, and super cobra. The tiger looks so bad I wouldn't want to be seen with one. Hind is a classic but I'm not sure it would be as fun. As for classified, as long as they make up the systems and I don't catch on.. Ignorance is bliss. I'd rather have a chopper I think is realistic than no chopper at all.
  12. The tf-51 is an unarmed trainer. The also free Su-25T on the other hand has a excellent array of munitions and is great fun.
  13. I'm not on the EDGE of my seat waiting. I play DCS as is and not in constant anticipation that it'll get better. If I don't like it anymore I'll stop playing, regardless if 2.0 is coming tomorrow or next year. I will never play a game now for what it might be tomorrow, unless in directly involved with developing it. Are the flaws in DCS breaking your fun? Then why are you playing? Seriously. As for "oh you should wait because it'll be good" is a load of crock. I refuse to allow myself to buy into the garbage spewed on these forums even to the point that I won't fully trust an official post speaking about a release date tomorrow. I'll take it as I come. News here is disinformation and the speculation is only a hair short of foolish.
  14. S77th server is password protected again due to a costly bandwidth overage last month. When you log in to http://www.s77th.com the password will be displayed on the top left of the home page. We suspect the overage was mostly because of the multiple DCS updates last billing period so maybe the password can be removed again in the future.
  15. It's quite difficult to enforce language rules. S77th will act on extreme cussing or raging, but that's only when something gets reported or some admin is online. I'd suggest either finding more private channels or try just asking, although you may be asking every time you fly. In any case, it's probably easier to do something about it on your end then to change things on the public side.
  16. I highly doubt that VOIP is going to fix your problem. There will still be guys who don't have a mic, and those who flat out don't want to use voice comms. Instead, you might end up with endless 15 year old chatter about the girl at school.
  17. It's working
  18. You fired 6 missiles and then he fired one (or more) so you turned and ran. Basically you didn't wait to see what he did so how can you say the missiles suck? For all you know he flew along a ravine out of sight to your missiles. There's plenty of ways to defeat 6 missiles that are legitimate and realistic. If you didn't even track him then I don't know how you can blame this on the missile. I agree there are some issues but I wouldn't take this story as proof of them. I'd work on some tactics that don't involve turning around as soon as the RWR missile launch warning sounds. Also "how much notch" doesn't make sense. You are either in the notch or you are not.
  19. Here's my "roadmap". I like to think I pick things up very fast. -set up controls to a way if can understand their layout and I write them down. -put the plane in the editor and some defenseless ground units and figure out whatever I can, mostly finding the limits of the plane and weapons systems. -go through whatever tutorials I think are necessary or interest me -go in multiplayer and teamspeak and learn the other 90% there from other people. There are a lot if people who really enjoy helping others figure out the A-10C. If you make sure that you're being teachable you'll get far in a hurry. That's with the A-10C at least. With the huey I skipped all the middle steps.
  20. I don't really care about exactly how accurate the stats are. One of the best things about this game is that it IS NOT stats driven. I have the csv file being generated on my personal computer, albeit not correctly, but when I try it on the server it has a error at mission start: "error in error handling" I still think it would be easier to convert the slmod data.. Just not easier for me lol
  21. This is EXCELLENT! Is it possible to make it exclude players based on their tags and to format it like callsign | flighttime | A/A kills | A/G Kills That way I could have it show only squadron members and instead of going into specifics as to what exactly people did and how they did it, just have the result (player-x killed a ground unit) Then I could merge all the CSV files (I think) generated in a week and manually update the table weekly until I find a way to automate it. EDIT: Outputted CSV files have event births but don't seem to recognize weapons, kills, or more than one of any type of unit. EDIT again: Now I'm thinking it's easier to convert a slmod stats file into table and call it a day. That wouldn't require anything on behalf of the mission maker and the files are updated in real time, that could be updated to a php in real time too.. right? I'm so stupid when it comes to this stuff.
  22. Maybe your personal nuclear powerplant isn't quite keeping up with your rig.
