Release in 2026 but barely any info 6 months before 2026?
MiG21bisFishbedL replied to LimePartician's topic in DCS: F-35A
I wish they wouldn't do that. They'll never get it out in '26. If they want a decent F-35? They have a lot of core mechanics they desperately need to work on (RCS, namely) as DCS handles RCS pretty poorly at the moment. If it drops in 2026? It'll be pretty undercooked and not worth a pre-order. -
Honestly, better missile modeling all around is a pretty important feature that is missing. But, I'm sure the project managers absolutely know best as I have been told, repeatedly.

Video review before pre-order ends?

No guff, but best of luck on that one. -

Try the C-130 mod. If you like the concept, then the full module should be fine. Or, wait and see. Pay full price for the assurance of a decent experience. -
Working on player AAR is kind of peak. I like that. We'll have to nag HB to give us a KA-6 now that this groundwork is laid.

Mostly spin prevention, but I never forced students to do it. I did encourage them to ask.

I'm going to pretend that you got an instructor to go up with you as a safety pilot and told them "I have to back my critique of a computer game!" It would've worked for me and at least I know said student would have been trying to kill me from the start.

Once again, poor little Brewster can't measure up. Beat me to the explanation though.

They do feel better than most, I have to agree. I've been loving them lately.

Check the little box next to 'Slider' as well. That can help with axis confusion. Sometimes an axis might freak out or something if it's being used with a bias in a singular direction (Like a brake lever or throttle), so it's usually a good idea to check that box.

If it's the case for DCS, it's the case with every sim that's ever modeled these same fighters. I dunno, they feel pretty great to me, too, from my limited time in an SNJ.
-
Yes, to be specific, this!
-
As Raven stated, set it to be a slider instead of axis in the tuning window. It'll take some getting used to since you don't really 'feel' anything like you would in an actual airplane. But, just be gentle and increase input as you get slower.
-
Are you using an axis for your brakes or using a digital input like a button?

I really love the skinning scene here, so this is a must.

The sound is a step up from the Fishbed and CEII, at least.

Let's see if this works with WebMs. Here's one of my take offs. F4UTakeoff (1).webm

You're not using flaps at all. Drop them to 20 degrees for land take offs and 30 for carrier take offs. You're also losing control of the nose on take off, you want to keep that pitched a lot lower. The flaps definitely help there. Basically, you're taking off too early, letting the nose yank high, killing any airspeed you've had, and plopping back down. Rotate above 100KIAS, not before. Gently stick back. Just a little touch back to get it off the runway if it's not taking off on its own. As soon as you're in the air, level out and start to gain airspeed. Bring up your landing gear once you've established 125KIAS which is also your best rate of climb. Then, bring up your flaps one notch at a time. Bring up the first notch to 10 degrees, stabilize, then bring up it up to clean. If you rush the flaps up, then the nose will want to jump upwards.

I echo this sentiment, but IIRC, missilery is in ED's wheelhouse. Though, radar is definitely in Mag3's.
