  1. This patch has proven to be very much a step in the right direction, or rather a leap.
  2. With ED's chase of a visual chimera on hardware 90% of the customer base doesn't have, it'd be REALLY nice to further compartmentalize a lot of the visual settings.
  3. A bit more homework for me as I see what I can do.
  4. What's in the pipe for the Hind since it was mentioned? R-60 employment, tweaks, QoL improvements, or all 3?
  5. Better idea: an option remove them from the cockpit view since they're near useless at usual operational altitudes, anyways.
  6. When I first started flying the Ka-50 back in the day, I was getting frustrated over the same thing. You are not alone, for sure.
  7. It looks like they did, indeed, fix the activation time. It's about as useful as a stern gaze, but at least it isn't absolutely useless anymore. Curly is a real G. EDIT: Used it on both the F-5E and F-86F and it actually tracks off the rail, now. Wicked.
  8. For me, I personally do not care for maggots in my sirloin, but to each their own.
  9. I would definitely agree with your last sentiment, but does it apply here? I'll watch a GR video once in a while and I'll find things that are out right incorrect. They aren't tutorials I'd recommend to newbies and moving away from that kind of content is probably better for GR on a creative level. Making an observation on the reality that they've frequently gotten things wrong in their videos doesn't hinge upon one's ability to make a video themselves. If I'm a butcher and I give you a cut of rancid meat, does that mean you should also become a butcher in reaction to my less-than-desirable product? No, no it does not.
  10. Popularity isn't a measure of quality, though. Limp Bizkit and Kid Rock both can claim platinum albums, after all.
  11. I'm impressed thus far. This is an incredibly easy helicopter to pick up. It may be the easiest in DCS beyond the Black Shark. Once you start to understand the systems and what goes on, it's a breeze.
  12. There's no limitation to what aircraft you can fly on what maps aside from runway lengths. So, I'd really imagine that yes, the F-15 and the F-4 will be quite available on South Atlantic.
  13. Another bump, because It'd be nice to just turn them out of the way.
  14. The F-86 and MiG-15 are in rough shape and I don't think I can recommend them to players in their current state. There's also very little indication that any changes are being made. Until then, they're a hard pass for me.
  15. I'll honestly put that into consideration. I may just have to do that. It'll require me to do some deep dives on specifics since I'm a stickler for accuracy, but that means I have to do deep dives into history so.. that's not an issue for me!
  16. They're more than just Roman. I believe that the citadel itself was built by the Seleucid empire, a successor state to the Macedonian empire after the death of Alexander. From there, it'd be under Roman/Byzantine control starting in 64 B.C. and would go on to be part of many empires; Zengid, Ayyubid, Mongols, Mamluks, Ottoman, and finally under French mandate until 1945. So what we're seeing is quite a few cultures being represented in one place. The mosques inside the citadel for example? They started out as Byzantine churches.
  17. Some of the low speed handling is suspect, to be sure, but other than that it's outstanding. It's key to remember that a lot of complaints about that that I've seen over the year cite older, lighter MiG-21s. Those flight envelopes aren't that applicable to the bis. But, there's still some things about low speed that the team is looking at. The F-5 is also a great airplane, but the MiG-21 has better performance in some key ways. I prefer the speed and power of the Fishbed. As for difficulty, I actually don't find it hard at all. It's quite a pleasant aircraft to fly so long as you fly it by the numbers. Basically, there's a problem solving flow chart to the MiG-21 and it boils down like this My missiles aren't connecting with targets----------| My maneuverability sucks---------------------------|-----> GO FASTER, YOU ARE TOO SLOW. My gear keeps collapsing on landing----------------| My engine just flamed out! -------------> Okay you went too fast, keep it below 1600kmh or 2.1, whichever comes first.
  18. That depends on your definition of RedFor. The Fishbed that slings BVR weapons was only procured in number by the Indian Air Force as the Bison. It's not exactly a Red Air threat. The LanceRs and BisD's are NATO birds. That said, it still would give us a pretty neat match up of JF-17 vs. MiG-21 Bison in an Indo-Pakistani engagement. I can't find any resources which indicate what the Indians have in their missile inventory, but I know they'd definitely be using R-73s instead of R-3s or R-13s with the added bonus of an HMD, so that alone would be wicked cool. But, from my perspective as a Fishbed-Fanatic? The MiG-21's popularity and longevity has elevated it to an almost international status; its flown for what we'd call blufor, for redfor, and for everyone in between.
  19. I'm wanted in 12 states for 23 counts of home invasion between the years 2003 and 2018. I'll take the last slice of pizza without remorse, too.
  20. This. I'm not going to be buying anymore ED first party modules and probably even dial back on third parties that aren't Mag3 or Heatblur. The core problems in DCS with AI and outstanding bugs (F-86, MiG-15 come to mind as they have lazy issues and inaccuracies that have been known for 6 years) that go untouched is absolutely ridiculous. We're told they're coming, we're told it's happening, we're even told we don't know what we're talking about when we question if they're coming. We were always at war with Eastasia. And yet, here we are, with bugs that have been backburnered for years and years. Even simple ones with simple fixes. This is why I would not buy into a subscription plan as I doubt it'd provide enough money to cover new developers for these bugs AND these bugs should be fixed to start with, period. End of. I'll shop with more confidence once ED gets its act together, but whenever I see one of their offerings from now on? My thought is immediately "Oh boy, what glaring issues and inaccuracies will be present for years to come and is it worth putting up with?" The answer will probably be 'no.' At this point, what'd make me super happy is to see an announcement that future modules are getting a delay while they go over the game itself and make improvements beyond just multi-core support and Vulkan. Prioritize GFM and give us a much more indepth look into what it actually does while also addressing the ground AI? THAT'D get me buying with confidence all over.
  21. With the exception of the PLAAF, I think everyone forgot about the MiG-19.
  22. So don't? I'm not exactly seeing a lot of servers abandon the Black Sea. Whether it be through subscription or one time purchase, you're paying either way.
  23. WOW LEWD
  24. I'm honestly betting on another delay. Annoying as hell, but they're patching the game in the meantime AND it's better to be late than repeat the Viper.
