  1. I had watched that, but not sure if the video showed the Doppler being turned on, or not. The manual stated that at 170 km/hr or so there should be no rudder input needed, and indeed the ball is centered around that speed, meaning the Hip is flying coordinated. If the Drift needle is to be centered, a strong left rudder needs to be applied, resulting in the ball swinging to the right, and that is not coordinated. Can someone helps to clarify -- the Drift Angle top center index refers to the aircraft's nose direction, while the needle shows the ground track, is that right? Or is it the other way round? I believe the needle shows the ground track, thus the left drift over time. If so, to fly with the ball always centered, one would need to intentionally crab the aircraft's nose to the right, so as to maintain straight up ground track? This is getting a bit confusing.
  2. I was trying to fly to a waypoint using the Doppler system, flying at about 170 km/h. All looked good on the way there, but the Drift Angle Indicator kept showing the needle pointing to the left about 10 degrees, even though I looked to be flying straight, with the slip ball in the center with no rudder input. Even then, there seemed to be a gradual left drift. I had to intentionally put in some left rudder in order to center the Drift Angle Indicator so that the Hip could fly straight. But that caused the slip ball to go to the right of center. Anyone knows what is the correct way to track straight on course? Keep the Drift Angle Indicator needle centered, or keep the slip ball centered?
  3. Thanks all for the helpful advice. I read somewhere before that the AOA indexer shows a few knots slower than that shown by the AOA needle indicator, and as such the AOA needle is a better judge of the correct approach speed. Is that correct?
  4. Thanks much, Sedlo ! Didn't know at all there is a button hidden under the dashboard !!
  5. Anyone else noticed the second hand of the clock is not moving? The minute hand does move over time, though.
  6. Tried it again and this time the fuel feed was from the internal tanks if the external centreline feed switch was not on. Not sure if it was due to oversight in the earlier flight.
  7. I know of the formula for calculating approach speed with ammo and fuel loading, but what about when also carrying stores like tanks and bombs? What are the additional knots for such loads?
  8. Was flying with one centre-line tank last night, took off using internal tanks as per procedure, but forgot to switch on the centre-line tank fuel feed switch after took off. Yet somehow after some time, the caution light turned on indicating that the centre-line tank had emptied. But without the centre fuel feed switch in ON position, fuel should have been taken only from the internal tanks right? Anyone else experienced this?
  9. Thanks for the pointer folks. That explains it !
  10. I have been flying the F5 on and off for some years now and love it. But I noticed the attitude indicator sometimes seems to be inaccurate -- sometimes at high speed, the gauge shows a slight right bank, when the jet obviously was flying straight and level. But at other times, the indicator does seem to show correctly. Anyone else noticed this? I do not have any such problem at all with other jets like the A10C or the F16.
  11. Was hoping the module is more developed by now, given that it has already been sold for so long.
  12. The cockpit readouts (such as Steering, Guns, Caution Lights, etc.) all appear almost non-readable from a distance. They only start to show up sharp when zoomed in real close. I have my settings at 4X MSAA and 16X Anistropic, VSync On. Running on GTX 1080. nVidia Texture set to Quality. SSAA and SSLR all at Zero. In-game texture at High. Cockpit Res at 1024. Am able to usually get 50 to 60 FPS at NTTR, Persian Gulf, etc. Anyone any advice on how the cockpit readouts could be made clearer from a distance?
  13. Thanks folks. I guess that explains it -- was at 90+ % close to full load, and possibly rotated too late and / or too hard. Or could be too soon.
  14. In this new model, I noticed the default seat height is such that the eye position is same level as the top edge of the HUD display frame, which resulted in the nose boreisght symbol (the circle pipper with a centre dot) not being visible, unless I lower my eye level. As a result, during takeoff, the horizon line is not visible. I understand the pipper can be lowered by adjusting it, but does that affect anything? Saw on youtube, most seems to be able to see the pipper when sitting on runway.
  15. Was taking off with some weapons and rotated around 130+ knots when the left tire blew out. I have flown in both the DCS A10C models on and off for years and had never experienced a blown tire before. Could this be a bug?
  16. Hello All, I bought the F16 months ago but only started to get flying in it and noticed the HUD display resolution seems lower compared to the A10C. For example, when in a slight bank, the horizon line looks a little uneven, whereas the one in A10C looks perfectly smooth line whatever the bank angle. Anyone else noticed this? Also, may I know how complete is this model now? What are the major features still under development? Thanks.
  17. Ahh okay. Mine is World 2.5, not open beta. Any idea when would it be available for the 2.5?
  18. Just to be sure, I just stumbled on the news of the free new A10C cockpit upgrade, but could not find the update download anywhere. Is this update released yet? If not, when? Thank you.
  19. I'm running in stable version. So I may expect to see it in my Module Manager after this Fri? Didn't seem to see news that it would move to the stable version after Fri. Thanks.
  20. Hello, I pre-ordered the F16 months back, and was trying to install it, but could not find it in my Module Manager. Any idea how or what I should do to get it installed? Thanks. Avio
  21. Been flying much with the Yak and noted these problems :- 1) The air pressure gauge always show both needles fixed and non-moving, from cold and dark to in-flight. 2) Oil Temp needle hardly moves beyond 30 degrees, even with oil cooler fully closed. 3) Attitude indicator at times not showing level, even when horizon outside is level. 4) In-cockpit sound -- when flying sounds like heavy rain outside, in addition to normal engine sound. This happens with or without helmet simulation. Anyone else noticed these issues?
  22. Noticed that when flying in day time some runways' PAPI approach lights were either totally missing or have a non-working reflector lamp. Saw this problem at Kahsab airbase and Dubai Int'l. Only at dawn or dusk would this lights show up. Anyone else seen this?
  23. Just bought the PG yesterday and while the FPS has been good, there seems to be much shimmering and flickering of ground objects such as vertical lines, and especially building surface structures where there are vertical windows / columns. Is there any setting that could help eliminate this problem? I have quite good CPU of i7 3.5 GHz and GTX 1080 with 32 Gb ram.
  24. Okay sure look forward to it coming to stable version today.
  25. I just bought the Yak but was not able to find it in the Module Manager. And I thought it is meant for 2.5.2, which I have? Or is it only for Open Beta only, which I do not have. Shouldn't it be for all versions?
