  1. The prop spins clockwise on startup according to some videos, but shouldn't it spins anti-clockwise for soviet prop planes?

    Flight Manual

Thanks folks. I saw in some videos it seems the Yak here pitches up suddenly by a lot upon flaps deployment.

    Flight Manual

Thinking of buying this one ... does it come with a flight manual in English? Read about the sudden pitching up issue upon flaps deployment -- is this serious and detract from the experience of this product? Will it be fixed eventually?
  4. Okay will give SSAA 1.5x a try. Thanks.
  5. Flew a simple A-to-A search mission with the F5E but upon ending mission, the whole screen turned black. Could only call up Task manager to force exit the DCS program. Anyone else seen this? Any fix for this? Thanks.
  6. Tried various settings but still the shadows flicker especially from a distance away. Guess would have to make do with it.
  7. Strangely in Cacasus region, trees and even the smallest building / ground objects seem to load in even when very far away. By the way, there is a lot of flickering / shimmering of shadows from trees, etc., when viewed from some distance away. Anyway to get rid of this shimmering?
  8. I have maxed out the needed sliders (see screenshot) but buildings and some trees in NTTR in the distance seem to load only when flying and approaching nearer to them. This poses a problem when trying to using targeting pod from far away (eg in A-10C) as objects just would not show up till way near. Should I set anything differently? Also, reflections of mountains in lake water flicker quite a lot as I fly around the lake. Anyway to stop the flickering / shimmering?
  9. Thanks folks. Adjusted Gamma to 1.8 and it looks a lot better now.
  10. Been trying out some flying around the new 2.5 and all look great. But it seems the world and the cockpit interior all look quite bright, with some ground objects / buildings looking rather wash-out, be it at 9am or noon. Is this right?

    Growing Trees

Trees visibility at 50%, Gamma at 2.2. Clutter/Grass, Preload, Chimney Smoke all maxed out. As said, trees in NTTR loads fine and well in advance, but not in Cacasus region.
  12. Just updated to latest World 2.5 and it just looks awesome ... Noticed however that in the Caucus region, when flying low the trees seem to literally "grow" one by one just ahead of the plane, instead of having been loaded way ahead. This issue does not show up in the NTTR, where trees look better and are already "fully grown up" way before I fly to them at low altitude. Any advice? Thank you.
  13. I noticed whenever I initiate a left bank with my Warthog HOTAS, the F-5E would at the same time show an uncommanded climb as well. And while making a right bank, it would enter a descent instead. This could be clearly observed on the VSI needle. Have been flying with this HOTAS for a long while with other planes like the A-10C, FSX, etc, with no such issue at all. Test on the HOTAS also shows normal stick and rudder commands input / output. Anyone else seen this issue?
  14. Been doing some testing and turns out that if the Visibility setting is set to extreme, ground objects in NTTR do appear from much further away, although smaller objects still do appear / disappear according to distance away. The cost is lower FPM, but only when flying at tree-top level over dense towns like Las Vegas. Above 100 ft generally FPM looks good. Note : In Causus map, no such problem of popping on and off of ground objects from afar. Looks like DCS applied different modelling in these 2 maps. Avio
  15. I'm surprised no one else has this problem ?? The objects such as buildings, tress, cars, in the TGP display literally grow bigger like balloons as one approaches nearer (about 2 to 6 nm), and gradually shrink in size when moving further away. A serious problem never observed before in previous flights some months ago. Note : I have most sliders settings all to the max. Avio
  16. I noticed that ground objects in targeting pod seem NOT to show up when aircraft is still far away. The objects only start showing in the TGP display when the distance gets near to about 4 to 6 nm. Did not see this effect when I flew the A10C about a year ago. Did anyone else see this? Note : I'm flying in World 2.0, NTTR. Everything patched to latest updates. Avio
  17. Thanks Trooper. I can manually cyclic trim it fly straight and level, but the ball is not centred, unless I apply right pedal constantly throughout that level flight. I know I can hit Heading autopilot to keep at where I am going, but then without right pedal input, it is just not flying coordinated. Is there a trim for rudder pedals? To clarify, I do not want to use the Rudder Trimmer Mode setting.
  18. Thanks fellows. Been practicing some more and going at it sloooow and I think I'm getting better at it. As I fly planes too, I prefer to keep the spring in the rudder. But it also means flying with auto-heading ON is no longer a nice option, as it tends to mess with the rudder position setting between the physical and virtual one. I find I could do without auto-heading in all aspects of flying the Mi-8. Just that on long cruise the ball is uncoordinated to the right by a small amount at high speed, when the physical rudder pedals are centred.
  19. What I meant is I have a hard time trying to keep the nose pointed straight with rudder work when transitioning from fast to slow speed to hover. I use a Saitek self-centering rudder pedals and do not set the rudder trimmer in the Special Options, as I prefer it that way. That also means using the Auto-heading channel becomes less useful, especially when I work the rudder to get to desired headings while the auto-heading is ON.
  20. Been flying the Hip for 2 days and main problem is controlling the torque when slowing down for vertical landing. I use Saitek rudder pedals. Default flight startup with engine alrdy running. I flew the Huey and find it easier to control torque it seems. Any advice?
  21. A little confused here - Is the Belsimtek Huey of AFM or PFM ?
  22. Had sent a ticket to support and the reply was that the tire blow-out problem could not be replicated, and that it likely happened because the speed was too fast or brake applied too hard. But none of the suggested likely causes are correct, as the blowout quite often happens at speed as low as 160, 170 range, whether the plane was lightly loaded with just two Aim-9, or heavily loaded with bombs and tanks. The tires according to specs could take up to 230 knots speed. So far it happened in airports in NTTR map. Did not do much flying in World 1.5 map. Developer please fine-tune to increase the limit. The F-5E here is a good simulation, but the tires bursting problem is a serious minus for those who encounter it, and for those considering to buy it, and those who support Belsimtek products past, present or even future. Please respond.
  23. Also noticed the "bounciness" during takeoff roll seems rather over modelled with much bouncing. And because the dehiking logic kicks in when all three wheels are lifted off, there were a few occasions when the bouncing was so exaggerated that the nose gear started to dehike. Is there an issue in this area?
  24. Had flown several short missions and really frustrated by the random blowing of tires during takeoff. Just had 5 consecutive tires blowing takeoffs in a row, when just earlier many missions were flown with no issue. All same settings, from same Tonopah airbase. Even tried different trimming settings etc previously. Very disappointing especially after all the lengthy setting up. Wasted much time. Could the developer help comment on this? Wd there be a fix coming? The real world tires have to be a lot stronger, and not behave like balloons ready to pop randomly. Really hope this get fixed.
  25. But in those instances when there is a Nellis ATC, many times it does not acknowledge request for take-off when I reach runway. It did response to startup request though, as well as request to taxi.
