  1. As big a success as it's been with FlyInside it is surprising that ED has not taken note. Still if ED won't do it we have to be able to get a DCS modder to do it no? We will pay!
  2. UPDATE: Turns out you have to click the "more details" button to see the shipping updates after the package is in Moscow. My package arrived only a couple days late and being right after Christmas that is no big deal. Also note that Andre shipped promptly upon order! Original message: I paid the roughly $30 extra for the faster 7-10 day shipping from Dimex on my JetSeat but after 7 business days the most recent thing on the tracking is that it arrived in Moscow. Is this normal? I'm hoping it will come soon, can't wait to try it! The sound module is FANTASTIC by the way, I highly recommend SimShaker for Aviators for all DCS players, especially those with VR headsets. After you fly with it you will not want to ever fly without it again. Trip
  3. This all sounds really good actually guys! This much disagreement means that both are viable, albeit with different tactics and skillsets. I'm hoping that with some dedication I can become a force to be reckoned with in the Allied aircraft. Even more importantly some of the allied pilots in this thread don't feel like it's a lost cause to play online. I hope I'll find myself feeling the same way. Thank you all for the opinions, they were an interesting read and something I'm sure I'll be referring back to when I want to figure out what I'm doing wrong. Trip
  4. Don't worry too much, I hit up the contacts for two servers I was interested in playing on and they both turned on "player export" for us. =D I agree, I would not want to play without SimShaker (Bass Shakers OR JetSeat) either after having played with them, I'd rather stick with single player than go multi player and lose that much immersion!
  5. Pedals are very enjoyable to use though, unless you simply don't want to spend the money I highly recommend them to everyone!
  6. @DigitalEngine I've been back and forth on building a pit for use with my Rift but being blind means only easy to find controls that you don't have to fumble for are immersive this way. I say this based on the A-10C with a Thrustmaster Warthog throttle. When you are looking right at the switch in the sim and have to bump your way around to find the right one on the panel it ruins the effect. I'm still considering it mind you, I think I'm going to build one P-51 panel and if I like it keep going. It's a lot more likely to be enjoyable with a plane that the controls aren't too cluttered in.
  7. P-51 at least isn't nearly as complex as it seems at first. Mixture is automatic. Prop RPM lever is basically set to full forward (3,000 RPM) for takeoff and combat, 2,700 for landing, lower for max fuel economy cruising. Radiator and Oil cooler are automatic.
  8. I'd love more options for FFB too if it wouldn't take too much work. I want leap motion support a lot more though!
  9. * Airacobra curse you autocorrect! On a phone and can't see how to fix the thread title. I know ED have lots of irons in the fire but the p- 39 has always been my favorite warbird and my understanding is it was much loved by the Russian pilots. Anyone think we're likely to see it as a module eventually?
  10. He'll I've got touch! I want more info on the hand model work! Agree it's odd the devs who put so much into fully functional cockpits would show no interest in utilizing this tech.
  11. Question from a DCS noob: Why aren't we doing bomber escorts now? Mods are available for A.I. bombers no? Are these impractical for our mission builders to use?

  13. Thanks for all the feedback guys. I'm able to take out AI 190's with no trouble even just being a beginner in the P-51 so I assume that the AI is just weak and that's all. There I take out the AI 190 five times in a row while flying like the amateur I am. I'm in it for the immersion not a k/d ratio or score, but though I want a challenge it will be frustrating if I lose against inferior pilots (assuming I learn more and become better) all the time because of the aircraft advantage. Maybe I'll wind up looking to fly against AI? I want to get in my plane and pre-flight, radio the tower and request engine start, and take it from there through a flight (preferably flying a plan and/or escorting bombers), and assuming I survive make it to my mission landing base and play it through all the way to parking and executing a proper shutdown. Some really good WWII campaigns are what I really want, and I hope they will come with or after Normandy. I'm brand new to DCS, so I don't know how to best get this kind of experience. Maybe I can create my own missions or maybe others have already done so. I'll install whatever mods are available to get more of a WWII experience. In the meantime I intend to learn (I just finished the manual and will research WWII dogfight techniques) and take my P-51 to the online WWII servers until I get frustrated. I guess I should go find out more about the High Stakes campaign, it didn't catch my interest because it's not a WWII campaign but now I figure it's better than no campaign maybe. Anyone want to tell me about it?
  14. Andrey, I'm out of town right now and can't test to see if it is already there but if it is not; can we get vibration feedback for operation of the radiator and oil cooler doors operation? I am reading the rest of the P-51 manual right now and when I got to this part of pre-flight I thought "this needs SimShaker feedback!". The vibration feedback is great, especially the landing gear deploy and retract! With my Aura-ST you can actually hear the metallic noises as well as feel the vibration and I suspect that makes it even better than buttkicker! Dying for my JetSeat to arrive. =)
  15. Here's another vote for getting the Rift. It's really a great toy in general (and I highly recommend Touch if it interests you!) but flight and racing sims are absolutely the best. I wouldn't even consider a flight or racing sim without Rift anymore.
  16. Thanks for the informative replies guys.
  17. @Frazmann Best pedals you can get are MFG Crosswind but they aren't cheap and generally it's a couple month wait to get them. Totally worth it though, that's what I fly with. The other super high end (even pricier) option is the beautiful Slaw Device pedals, the older ones I can't recommend but the cam centering ones are comparable to MFG's but these are a work of art. Over $500 though I think once shipped. For easier prices to swallow you have two choices. CH Products rudder pedals, for a really good price look for used ones on ebay but make sure you get USB ones. The other option is the new Thrustmaster pedals, I haven't got to use these so I don't know how they compare to the CH's. Stay away from Saitek pedals! They are terrible. I had the Combat Pro version, nice metal F-16 style foot rests but the whole rest of the device is the same plastic garbage and terrible design as the other Saitek pedals.
  18. This thread was helpful to me also, thanks! I just a couple hours ago posted a thread asking if the Spit is easier to score kills with than the Mustang as I read elsewhere on the forum that the P-51 is at a significant disadvantage currently to the BF-109 in the kind of fights generally encountered online in DCS. @schmidtfire Angle of attack kills the engine in five seconds? As in steep climb or dive? It's basically the same engine as the P-51, does it have a different oiling sytem? Trip
  19. Hey guys! I'm just about to start trying to fly online against other players (Steel Balls and Burning Skies maybe others) and I was disturbed to read that the P-51D does not do well against the German fighters (or BF-109 specifically anyway) partially due to low altitude dogfighting being the norm. I did read that there is supposed to be a P-51 update in the works to bring her up to 1944 Europe theater specs but in the meantime I fear a frustrating experience. I also read a rumor that the Spitfire took a nerf in the last patch. The question is this: If i want to avoid being at a disadvantage against players in BF-109's should I be flying a Spitfire until the P-51D 1944 update comes? Thanks for any input from you limies! Trip
  20. It can be turned off if you prefer. Right now p51 has pilot and it looks and works great!
  21. Hugs for eekz! My jetseat is on its way and I also use SimVibe sound, as well as motion SIM so this makes a huge difference to me! Thank you eekz!
  22. Thanks for the info. I hope server admins agree that turning on just "player export" is ok so those of us with motion Sims, g- seats, jetseats , and SimShaker sound module can fully enjoy these servers!
  23. Thank you for the kind words, but without the help of Thanos/TronicGR, paulg100, and others on Thanos forums I never could have done it! I had to fly some the other night with SimShaker turned off but motion on and missed it very badly! This program is fantastic.
  24. Yes but TacView won't work with just "Player export" enabled and the other two export options turned off correct?
  25. I too would like to request "player export" for m motion simulator. I very much want to play on your server but need motion! We only need "player export" not the others. Thank you, Trip
