Hi folks, first of all, my compliments to ED (and Belsimtek guys) for this wonderful plane!! I'm sure it will become a masterpiece of work. And now my question: I've tried to fold the wings (after startup or after landing), but the command lever seems to be stuck and I cannot move it in any way (left or right mouse button). Am I forgetting something? Thanks in advance

This (well, maybe not completely hands off, but very light inputs needed) Since some time ago, I found it so difficult to manage during take offs and landings, that I started to think: "I'll never manage to tame her!" I cannot recommend enough them: there are really tons of precious hints. Now I'm starting to love the Bf-109 and to find her very rewarding.

EDIT: The manual gives different values for Cruise power settings: - At page 112 (Operating data) it reads: Cruise Parameters (with climb and combat power): RPM (auto prop pitch): 2,550 – 2,600 Boost pressure (auto prop pitch): 1.45 ATA - At page 132 (Standard procedure - Cruise) it reads: Optimal Cruise Speed: 420 km/h TAS RPM (auto prop pitch): 2,550 – 2,600 Boost pressure (auto prop pitch): 1.35 ATA - At page 131 it reads: Set RPM and Supercharger Pressure to Cruise setting (2,400 ± 65, RPM at 1.25 ATA) Personally I find this last setup the most handling one - Moreover at page 139 (Landing procedure): Use the Horizontal Stabilizer Trim Handwheel to trim the aircraft for level flight in the flaps-down configuration. Rough guideline is around the -3 position. She becomes very nose-heavy with landing gear extended and flaps down, therefore the "tail-heavy" characteristic you told becomes very handy during landing.

I usually play off-line, due to the fact that I need to pause the game from time to time (children calling, wife calling,...) and that can't be done in MP (nevertheless I agree that MP experience is much more rewarding). That said, I will probably buy this map, because it's really a good scenario where to develop new realistic missions and campaigns. But the immersion breaking problems of DCS remain the same: poor AI, irrealistic AI flight dynamics, poor ATC. With these problems every scenario, even the best one, looses appeal.

Sure. I use X-55 software with Win10-PRO without any problem at all! It shoud also be the same with Home Edition.

The A-10C is 100 times better than his counterpart of FC3, but it's also much more difficult to learn, especially regarding avionics. The hard part is not to fly him, but to properly use all his systems. I agree with the other guys regarding the training campaigns (Maple Flag ones): they are of a very high quality level, but also quite difficult. I suggest to practice with easy single missions (like "sitting ducks"). Also I never CCIP AAA units: it's a sort of suicide. That's what maverics or CCRP bombing from high altitude are good for. I usually use CCIP bombing or GAU strife on unarmored vehicles (but I'm not a pro...).

Thanks to Bignewy, I've formatted my PC and saved 15+ hours of download!! I'm just curious about a couple of points: I deactivated the modules before, but when reactivating them I lost 1 activation (still not a problem because I've still 7/8 activations each module...except for the campaigns whare I've only one!!:cry:) I saved my user folder, including the saved games one with DCS logbook and settings, but even so I've lost all hotas assignements: where are they saved?

Hi guys, probably I'll need to re-install my OS, because something messed up and it always fails to update. My DCS installation is on a separate SSD: is it possible to re-install it on the new installed OS without downloading it all again, but using the old installed files? Otherwise it will be a real pain because my internet connection is not so speedy :cry:

Hi guys, my antivirus licence is expiring and I need to renew it. Untill now I've used Kaspersky Internet Security: I didn't have any big problem so far, except for a couple of files deleted without reason (wrongly recognised as viruses). I've read some reviews and some opinions: some users affirm that KIS tend to slow some programs, so I was thinking to switch to Bitdefender or some other Protection suite. I need a suite with some features like Parental Advisor, Online Banking Protection, antiphishing and so on, but also a light one that doesn't slow down simulators and internet connection. So... What's your experience with Protection suites ? Thanks in advance!!

As far as I can tell through my experience, the A-10 is a very easy AC to handle. Indeed FC3 aircrafts are much simpler in avionics management, but I find much more challenging to land an F-15 than a Warthog. Very different beasts. Regarding avionics and systems, unfortunately there are no other simpler aircrafts similar to the A-10, therefore you have to learn patiently systems one by one. But this is the fun part, in my opinion. You can also try with a trainer - the Albatross is superb in my opnion - but avionics are very different. Moreover there are good training campaigns, like the BFT campaign, and tons of videos to enlighten you on many aspects. The A-10C is one of the best modules in DCS!

Hi Bignewy, here you are the log files of 1.5.5 and 3.0 open alpha: il seems I have a similar problem in both versions and in both log files there are a lot of DX11BACKEND ERRORS (like: ERROR DX11BACKEND: texture "f5e-cpt-instr-02" not found; ERROR DX11BACKEND: texture "dno-1.tga" not found; ...). Or "WARNING DX11BACKEND: Shader terrain/shaders20/regularafter20.fx:DIRECTX11=true;FOG_ENABLE;LIGHT_SUNCOLOR; is outdated." Any help is much appreciated dcs (alpha).zip dcs.zip

1.5.5 missing textures Hi everyone, i've just updated to 1.5.5. and noticed that in the encyclopedia some objects have missing textures. I've already tried to disable all mods (btw, they were already disabled while updating) and to run a repair, but no joy at all. Any clue? Is it already known? Here it is an example: EDIT: just checked: in the sim textures are ok, they only miss in the encyclopedia

Where can I find this string to be repalced?
