What do we do with version 1.5.2. Beta now....
Kozmyk replied to fitness88's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
I went and ran Updater on my 1.5beta version first and it turned that into 1.5.2 release version. So now I have 3 installs still 1.2, 1.5.2 and 2.0a -
I had/still have 3 installs. I managed to migrate my \Config\Input files across both from 1.2 to 1.5b and from 1.5b to 2.0a with no adjustments The modules files I copied across to the relevant Mod folders but they wouldn't work until I went to Cmd: and ran DCS_Updater.exe Install *Mod Name* for each Module in the relevant \bin folder. When I did that, the Updater recognised my existing files and only downloaded/torrented the new files it needed to finish the job. hth

Thanks for the confirmation Hollywood_315 They must've done it already, I didn't have to change anything. -
VAICOM 2.0 for VoiceAttack
Kozmyk replied to Hollywood_315's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I'm in UK and my keyboard has the " \ " (shown in DCS as " OEM 102 ") key on the left side between " LShift " and " X " My " # ~ "key is on the right side between " ' @ ". VIACOM appears to me to be working but there could be functions I'm missing that I'm unaware of. During install I went into the VAICOM v2.0 F-15C.vap file and the entries that showed " \ " DID already correspond with my " \ " key. So should I be alright ? -
[DCS World FC3] Complete Su-27 English Cockpit Mod
Kozmyk replied to Devrim's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Absolutely. After I got it to work by manually changing files around, I went back and got it to work via JSGME. Both the methods work; the "splicing method" and the "unpacking the mod into JSGME and renaming the folder the same as the default .zip file" method (that uboats was suggesting). Happy now AND I've learned something about JSGME AND adding to an existing .zip Learning by doing eh? edjamacayshun innit :smartass: -

Sorted ... I think OK thanks to uboats' suggestion. I had another go. Full manual style... This time I extracted the mod .zip file and added the extracted .dds files to the original .zip (I made a backup first ;) ) It looks right, dials etc are good, but I'm too knackered now to fly but fingers crossed eh? Edit: Yup it worked. n.b. I had to "splice" separately for 1.5b & 2.0a -

Thanks for the tip. I got halfway to success. English Labels are there now but the dials and other graphics are wrong: -
[DCS World FC3] Complete Su-27 English Cockpit Mod
Kozmyk replied to Devrim's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Yeah I had a bit of confusion with the Chinese cockpit showing up at first but I got that under control ;) To use other Mods with JSGME I've had to make the folder sequence to suit the DCS Version and then put the zip file (as is. not extracted) in the end folder. This method isn't working for me so far with this Su-27 mod. This is what I'm presenting to JSGME: Devrim_DCSWFC3_Su-27EnglishCockpitMod_v1.1\Mods\aircraft\Flaming Cliffs\Su-27\Cockpit\Textures\Devrim_DCSWFC3_Su-27EnglishCockpitMod_v1.1.zip Edit: My 1st Mistake ^^ I tried other combinations as experiments but they didn't work either and the above is how I understand it should be. Path should have been:G:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\_MODS\Devrim_DCSWFC3_Su-27EnglishCockpitMod_v1.1\Mods\aircraft\Flaming Cliffs\Cockpit\Textures\SU-27S-CPT-TEXTURES.zip Edit: My 2nd Mistake Just using the renamed modded files alone didn't work. When I "spliced" them into a backed up copy of the default cockpit file.zip they DID work. n.b. I had to "splice" separately for 1.5b & 2.0a -
[DCS World FC3] Complete Su-27 English Cockpit Mod
Kozmyk replied to Devrim's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
I don't know what I'm doing wrong? Can't get the Su-27 cockpit to go English in either 1.2 or 1.5. I'm using JSGME I successfully used JSGME for other mods but this has had me boiling my brain, shifting nested folders about trying to get it to work. -
VAICOM 2.0 for VoiceAttack
Kozmyk replied to Hollywood_315's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Repeating the Speech Recognition/Train Your Computer.... a couple of extra times improves basic recognition as well. And as said above; the more you use it the better it gets. I found that at certain times of day/states of health I would be talking at a different pitch, that made a difference to recognition also. -

Great Mod. I struggled with it for a couple of days but it's starting to obey me now. A lot was to do with me not holding PTT long enough. One thing I DID notice was that Call Sign numbers weren't being recognised reliably. Saying "Enfield One One" wasn't working but "Enfield Eleven" DID I went and edited all the Call Sign commands to include a space and they work fine now. i.e. *Enfield 1 1* instead of the original *Enfield 11* I just have to program myself now with the usage syntax... With my brain, that'll be the hard part.:pilotfly: -

This is what I did to improve the utility of my T16000m http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=146102

My solution to low cost HOTAS'ing is to combine the T16000m with the throttle quadrant from my old HOTAS X, using the Rocker Paddle on the HOTAS for rudder. True, the resolution for the HOTAS X throttle and yaw is still 256 but the mechanical throw is larger so you can get more from your 256 (which is still less than 1/2% per step btw - 0.39) [Albedo anybody? :music_whistling:] The T16000m's selling point is the Hall Effect sensor being the same as in the Warthog. btw Posts from some time ago (circa 2013) have suggested that peripheral resolution isn't what it should be on the T16000m. Mine is about a year old now and gives steps of 4 (what it should be) right up to the edge and around the centre, all over in fact; as tested using various Joystick Utilities.

Much kudos for Ka-50 Guide. Thanks for your effort.

Settling in with the new buttons now. Swapped some of the binds about, both for single plane ergonomics and for keeping a bit of continuity betweens plane setups; to save on reprogramming the old muscle memory I've updated the layout graphics with a proper front view showing both buttons. In the first post links. Learned a hell of a lot about using GIMP doing these :smartass:. When I came to do the second layout I realised I had anchored most of the pieces onto the back layer.... WRONG!!!! :chair: Had to rebuild and learn to layer and mask and stuff ... boiled my brain a bit. Old dog, new tricks and all that. Any...ways, I've got a system now where doing new charts should be easy...ERRrr Time to get down to some flying and stop mucking about I reckon. :joystick:

That first one is a very tidy job. Not sure I'd want to crowd the head like that though. That lever job is excellent work. I might consider that CMS button idea.

A grand title for adding a couple of switch buttons to the handle of the T16000m joystick. The plan grew while putting a graphic together for my control layout: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=145266 I was originally only going to add one switch but Sokol1_br came up with the Pinkie Switch mod idea. Credit where it's due :smilewink: The switches are wired in parallel with Buttons 12 and 13; the two most in accessible buttons on the right hand switch panel. Electrically it's a very simple idea but the whole stick has to come apart to run the wiring through. There are some pitfalls to avoid that I discovered earlier during an exploratory investigation, that's why I recorded the videos. :prop: For those who might like to see the inside of a T16000 here is the video recording I made while doing the mods; Parts 1 & 2. They might also be of use to someone who can't sleep ... :bored::sleep: YouTube Part 1: YouTube Part 2: Why all this fuss and bother? You may ask. Well... After using the Thrustmaster HOTAS X for years, happily I might add, what I really missed after I changed over to the Thrustmaster T16000 on the stick side was the forefinger switch. I can see why TM put Button 3 where they did, left hand capability and all that, but it's not so useful way over there in right handed mode. This Really made itself felt when I got into DCS. Plus... Using a combination button press for Pinky Stick Switch was also getting tedious. Why not just get a TH Hotas Warthog? See "Reclining Cockpit" on the first linked thread .. :pilotfly: A-10C Warthog - Control Layout - Modded Stick This layout might change. I'll see when I get used to it. A-10C Warthog - Bindings - Modded Stick (https://www.dropbox.com/s/avkt89i0sjrxtaa/DCS_A-10C_Warthog_Combined_modded.html?dl=0) F-15C Eagle - Control Layout - Modded Stick F-15C Bindings - Modded Stick (https://www.dropbox.com/s/xd0mdqzhysd9d8x/DCS_F-15C_Combined_Modded.html?dl=0) Some pics of the finished product. Addendum After about 6 months, the Master Mode button started being unreliable so I mounted a button (TACT Switch) like the one I used on the Pinkie Switch. Although it looks more delicate it has a positive switching action and has lasted a year now.

Reworked Cockpit Views with proper Neck
Kozmyk replied to PeterP's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
In F-15C I have Buttons set for Camera up/down. Similarly in A-10C I use those buttons for Seat Height up/down. TrackIR y translate still operates in addition so it's not an either or choice. -

Voice Attack Profile Set Up Tips and Hints
Kozmyk replied to Koriel's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I must say that Froogle's explanation of setting conditionals in Voice Attack is the best and clearest that I've seen so far, whether for DCS or anything else. I made quite an extensive Elite Dangerous profile but couldn't get my old brain around conditionals. Now I understand... I think  The VIACOM VA profile is truly a fine piece of work. Either as a copy-and-go or as a template for editing to one's own preference. -
On a related note, I've just caught up with Proper Neck for DCS World I found it sorted a lot of my head position problems. I still use a separate Zoom slider but Proper Neck makes looking around the cockpit feel much more natural. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=96116
