Exploit to exploit = apples to apples. Even though it would be a different game, hes just relating the issues to show how feeble the arguement is. The arguement is, that because the game allows you to do it, then nobody should complain about it, and everyone should just deal with it...... even though thats what the forum is for.......
-
Uh yeah.... so far I have not seen a Dev comment on this issue. So is it really "supported" as you claim. I mean, anyone can use PrintScreen right? So is that now a supported game feature that anyone can have? Doesnt seem like anyone would agree, yet its the same arguement. And like I said, no not anyone can have. Only people that have a programmable keyboard, or joystick. Can all joystick software support this? And as a TrackIR user, I wish padlock was allowed in most servers. I know with the F5 view you can set the distance it locks at, maybe with padlock. Most issues with padlock are it locking on targets behind hills and such, which is not something you can do with TrackIR.

The biggest complaint I have, is not the people who are turning it on and off. They have to press the key each time, or button on the stick. Sure go ahead, it takes concentration and such to do so. The problem is when people have it macro'd to press E 1000 times, with a .0001 second delay inbetween, so that you dont even see the strobe, yet you are being jammed. Unless someone actually comes on this forum and reads about it, they will most likely not think of doing so. And what of those people that dont have programmable keyboard or HOTAS? Or that just havent thought of doing it. You can say everyone can do it, and has the same advantage to do so, but that isnt true. Regardless, I know someone will come in here to hash my remarks apart, and turn it around like a politician, but whatever. If ED doesnt change it, I guess I will just be flying less A2A.

News about release date or new movie?

Maybe because they are busy ;) And when was the last Dev Diary for FO? Now from what I hear, if you learn Russian and head over to the Russian forums, you get a bit more info...... which some has been passed here. So all in all, lately we have gotten more info about BS than FO. -
Brilliant. SWORD FIGHT!

Yes Vista will suck. Just like XP did compared to 2000, and 2000 to NT. Heck, I dont know why we all arent running Win95, since it was the best. If we could only port DX over to 3.11, well then we all would be rocking.

I would put my money on RPG and small arms.
-
Didnt know you used a bot to fly. Shame on you.

I havent checked other planes, but I had most of the HUD and cockpit textures (saw right through em) missing for the Su-25T, unless I looked at my wing. But I think this is an nVidia driver problem. And so far, I have yet to see anything in Vista that XP doesnt have. I turn all of the visual stuff off since I want all the performance I can, and it looks just like Win98 back in the day.

And how are most of those exploits, they are all intended by the DEVs, key point there. This reminds me of Al Gore talking of global warming. Doesnt matter to me, like I said I wont have to deal with it, as I wont be in the server. I will fly A2G and if not that I have F4AF, BF2142, NWN2, GRAW. Lots of games, so this one can collect dust.

"In the realm of online games, an exploit is usually a software bug, hack or bot that contributes to the user's prosperity in a manner not intended by the developers. In other words it is a form of cheating." So the question then, is did the developers intend for this to be used this way? If not, its an exploit by definition and a form of cheating. Also; "Types of exploits Duping AFK gaming and use of bots Hacking Use of "known bugs", such as "farming" an overactive MOB spawn. Use of "cheat" sites that disseminate exploits and other "advantageous strategies." Speed Hacking/Teleporting/subterrain travel - Since character position in World of Warcraft is determined by the client side, it is possible for players to send out artificial positional data and be instantly transported to any part of the world (even underground) or used to speed up traveling speed by altering positional deltas. Unintended effects of the programming. As an example: an NPC pays the players to collect rare plants from a distant forest. However, the same plants can be purchased for less at a nearby market. The player who discovers this can earn lots of money with little effort. "

What does the # of servers you have, have to do with it. Why would Zorlac be offended? Plain and simple, I am not a newb. And I dont care to fly online in your server anymore, or any server that allows the exploit. How do you think a newb will handle it? So be offended all you want, no skin off me, im offended you allow it.
-
So, that would be a function of the AMRAAM seeker, not a function of maddoging. It doesnt matter if you can counter it or not, you shouldnt have to. And a bad connection cant be countered either. So what do we do now, make everyone post a bandwidth test to fly on the server? Because otherwise how do you know its the printscreen exploit, or a bad connection?
-
And I thought everyone was trying to make the online community larger. What do you all think a newb is gonna do when he hops in your server and cant lock anything? Quit. And shelf LOMAC.
-
Oh right, its a problem, but not an exploit...... ok then
-
Maddoging ET, yes. Not sure how on the 120 since it CAN IRL. Flying below 10m to avoid missile, sure. humm.... anything else you would like to try and change the topic with, or detract from the fact ITS AN EXPLOIT.
-
Why stop calling it an exploit, because it doesnt fit what you believe? It IS an exploit, sorry if you dont like it. I have adjusted, I wont fly online in servers that allow it.
-
changing the subject
-
This is not the case. I was well within 10miles and I still couldnt hold lock. I even tried BORE and it wouldnt hold lock.
-
Mad Dog isnt a real tactic? So why is there a name for it, that came from the military? Why is that big circle still there when I turn my radar off? You are just trying to detract from the fact thats its an exploit.
-
But isnt printscreen a feature of the game? Why shouldnt I be able to macro that, so I can best use the features of the game. Macro'ing the ECM the way people have, wasnt intended to be used that way, and therefor is also an exploit.
-
And using a macro that cycles it on and off so fast it doesnt even show the strobe on the radar? Im sorry, but it is not a tactic that can be used IRL. It is an exploit, and everyone know that. Like I said in the 504, you might as well defend LOPE.
-
Atmoshperic conditions determine a lot of that. I think it would be very good for all missiles to have contrails at high altitude. If you think about it, its not actually gonna give you much though. You will see it coming at first, but by the time its close enough to matter, its motor will be out anyways. Might give just a bit better cueing for evasion. But I honestly dont think it will change anything.

Nvidia FSAA still awful compared to ATI
Prophet replied to Andrew_McP's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Well looks like i will have to get an ATi card if I upgrade. -
1) No, its the same engine as LOMAC. 2) Dont know, I guess it depends on the settings you use.
