Nope, best MS first release I have seen. Anyone remember when Win2000 came out, getting drivers was a nightmare for a long time. Regarding the SoundCard. Well I used to not bother, and was more than happy with the onboard. Well I finially decided what the heck, and sure enough, I got a decent increase in FPS too, about 5. + I used to have problems with mic static and volume too low. With the X-Fi, the same mic is LOUD. I will try the ALchemy program and see if that solves that. What I hear is the same if you go into, I forget which file, but you can turn 3D on and off for each sound. It sounds like you turned 3D off for the engines and such. Great find, sounds like this is the issue.

The download version is just software. The RC Simulations offers a CD. And a box, and everything else that comes that it. Increased overhead.

Thats using the 25ML though. The Vihkir is spin stabalized, once you move that cursor, since it moves faster than the tracking, the missile starts flying wide.

Flood mode gives lock warning the minute you put him in the circle. But it is still a very effective mode.

I would agree with some of the comments if ED was actually making this model. ED is not putting much resources into it. To do an F4 or something else for the US, ED would have to allocate resources.

Rgr, no problem with Foxy to download profiles. The DX apps dont work, but woohoo. Just found another issue that I fixed. Key trapping for TIR and TS werent working when in game. Found that if you run TIR software and TS as administrator, then key trapping works. Also with the nVidia drivers, it doesnt appear that AA is working, cant tell about the other settings.

Except the data Cali gathered was from in game.... :smartass: Will have to run tests at low and high alt to see if there is a difference.

So I just got the latest 101.41 beta drivers. These fixed the texture issues I have. Foxy works to download to cougar (CCP doesnt), Creative drivers work to give me sound, CH control panel randomly crashes but stays open more than long enough to download a profile, TrackIR works, TeamSpeak works. Heck, everything works more or less. Damn fine for a first release from MicroShaft.

As I found out when trying to find a copy of XP at the stores recently in NM... CircuitCity and BestBuy were out of XP and had no plans to recieve more copies. Thats how I got Vista. I just havent had the time because of work to mess with it, but I like what I see so far.

I bought LockOn gold on Ebay for about $12 including shipping. New and sealed. And I suppose "more than it's worth" is relative. I have bought Lock On, FC, and Lockon Gold. All very much worth it. I actually had no problems setting up Vista and installing Lock On. I never was able to check FPS, I get most of the cockpit textures missing. Driver issue.
