What did I think of Kiowa? It needs to improve in some areas!
ThorBrasil replied to ThorBrasil's topic in DCS: OH-58 Kiowa
Then you are the perfect customer for Polychop with their low quality 3D models and textures. Remember that Kiowa's physics are not that accurate. In real life, it cannot take off with 100% fuel and 4 hellfires, much less hover in the air like it does in DCS. The important thing is that you are satisfied.- 593 replies

If this is the way of thinking, DCS should never have evolved and continued in LockOn.- 593 replies

What did I think of Kiowa? It needs to improve in some areas!
ThorBrasil replied to ThorBrasil's topic in DCS: OH-58 Kiowa
A small team has nothing to do with the quality of the product. Look at Magnitude 3 with its F-4U-1D, Red Star Simulations with its MiG-17, FlyingIron Simulations with its A-7E, among others that are being developed for DCS. Kiowa is the way it is because Polychop hired the wrong person and did not have high quality control. And flying SP has nothing to do with the quality of the product. I only fly SP and I love looking at the beauty of the Mi-24, Apache and Chinook. Magnitude 3 F-4U-1D. Red Star Simulations MiG-17. FlyingIron Simulations A-7E- 593 replies

ThorBrasil replied to ThorBrasil's topic in DCS: OH-58 Kiowa
So with this in mind, the F-4E is not well simulated and lacks resources because it has a 3D model and textures that are close to the real model of the aircraft. And another thing! The programmer does not interfere in the 3D design or the texture designer. Each one has their role. Now, if Polychop is formed by only one person who did the programming, the 3D model and the textures. This would justify the current state.- 593 replies

What did I think of Kiowa? It needs to improve in some areas!
ThorBrasil replied to ThorBrasil's topic in DCS: OH-58 Kiowa
How did you come to this conclusion that the people who come here to give their feedback don't fly Kiowa? Did you do a survey? Did you go to where everyone lives to see if they are flying?- 593 replies

What did I think of Kiowa? It needs to improve in some areas!
ThorBrasil replied to ThorBrasil's topic in DCS: OH-58 Kiowa
Man, I bought the module and no one gave it to me for free. The module is indeed below DCS standards and I don't know how ED allowed it to come out in this state at full price. It doesn't even look like a module released in 2024, but it looks like something released 15 years ago. It doesn't meet ED and other third-party standards. Now, if you think it's bad that I say this, just ignore it. I don't recommend this module to anyone in its current state. It's better for the person to buy the Mi-24, Apache or even the Chinook and they'll be happier. Anyway! If you think it's bad, ignore me.- 593 replies

ThorBrasil replied to ThorBrasil's topic in DCS: OH-58 Kiowa
If Kiowa doesn't improve, Polychop's future will be compromised by the release of new modules because many people will stop buying their modules. I really hope Kiowa improves because the 3D model and textures are horrible. I keep seeing new modules being developed that I don't even need, but I'll end up buying them because the 3D model and textures are professional. The beauty and presentation of a product are the most important things when you want to sell a product. The MiG17 is a product that I don't need, but the beauty, care and details of the 3D model and its textures make me want to buy it because it makes me want to fly it just to admire its beauty. No one wants to date an ugly woman and the Kiowa is very ugly today. https://stormbirds.blog/2024/08/20/red-star-provides-brief-mig-17-update/ https://stormbirds.blog/2024/01/01/red-star-simulations-mig-17-update/- 593 replies

I believe you didn't understand his question and what I answered. He asked if it is possible to set a value to move the camera out with the door and another value without the door. I answered that the DCS does not allow this and that the value is unique for the version with and without the door. Regarding what you answered, the Bell 206 that you mention has one and sticking its head out in real life is possible because it does not have an armor plate on the door of your Bell 206 like the OH-58D Kiowa.- 593 replies

reported Server.lua does not recognize Chinook ID.
ThorBrasil replied to ThorBrasil's topic in Bugs and Problems
The view.lua file is always in the X:\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\XXX\views.lua folder. In the case of the CH-47, the file is in E:\DCS World\CoreMods\aircraft\CH-47F\views.lua. I don't know if this is related and that's why it doesn't work correctly. I've tried all the acronyms that are in E:\DCS World\CoreMods\aircraft\CH-47F\entry.lua. I've tried these. CH-47F, CH-47F_bl1, CH-47Fbl1, CH47F, CH47Fbl1 and none of them work. In the SnapViews.lua file, it saves as "CH-47FBL1", but it doesn't work in Server.lua either. The SnapViews.lua file is saved with this name "CH-47FBL1". I put the same name "CH-47FBL1" in Server.lua file and it doesn't work. As you can see. I do it for all my modules. -

I don't believe that Polychop will update the 3D and textures to get closer to the F-4E, Chinook and Apache. This is very sad, but hope dies last. It's that old saying, "The first impression of a company is the one that lasts". And it wasn't good at all. Let's see in the future how the development of Kiowa will be, which should be in early access and not as a "complete" module, but as I said... I don't believe it will change. The most it will be will be bug fixes, some improved textures and a new sound. 3D shouldn't change, but if it does, it will be very little. I hope I'm wrong and fall flat on my face!- 593 replies

I like to edit and limit the FOV through server.lua, but it doesn't recognize the ID of the CH-47. Usually it's the same ID as the Kneeboard, which in this case is the ID "CH-47FBL1". Does anyone know the solution? A different ID? I do this for all my aircraft and have never had any problems. Thank You!

Northern Israel / Southern Lebanon detail removed
ThorBrasil replied to Flying Toaster's topic in Bugs and Problems
Let's assume it's true that UgraMedia asked OnReTech to remove part of Israel. Wouldn't that be hypocritical since the Normandy 2.0 map has practically the entire ED Channel map? I just think that UgraMedia should have the freedom to build the best Israel that DCS has ever seen, and if UgraMedia is bothered, it should just do the same. Customers will decide whether they want to buy the map with Sinal/Israel or Israel/Syria. This fight only damages the image of the third parties and of ED itself. This will cause people to stop buying modules in the future because they lose confidence in the company and drive away many new buyers. I myself will no longer buy modules from these companies until they improve their development and communication. The companies are Polychop, UgraMedia, Razbam and OnReTech. -
What is the acronym used to make the Kneeboard work? I tried the acronyms CH47Fbl1 and CH-47F, but both did not work. Thank you!

Will there be any updates to Nedava ?
ThorBrasil replied to Raviar's topic in DCS: Nevada Test and Training Range
An upgrade to Nevada would be really cool. I would pay for the upgrade. -
Instead of ignoring the team could have said this, as the video is from ED's own announcement, but thanks for responding. Grateful!

@BIGNEWY @Raptor9 I understand that they didn't do what was announced, but at the very least they could give a statement about it. I wouldn't be upset if they said that they were excluded from the project due to the confidentiality of the equipment. Now, I think ignoring it is a disservice to the buyer. A lack of respect.

It is not possible to do this. It is a single value regardless of whether it is with or without the doors.- 593 replies

it changes the distance of the cockpit from the screen and prevents distortion when turning the head. for testing purposes and that you can view. enter the cockpit and look to the sides and notice the cockpit with zero values and then do the same with the values below. EyePoint = {0.20,0.0,0.0}, The higher the value, the closer the cockpit is to the screen and the more distortions will occur when turning the head.- 593 replies

@BIGNEWY @Raptor9 I noticed that these instruments in the screenshot below are missing from the early access manual. Will this come during early access or has it been removed? Thank You!
