I want to thank ED team for such a great work. I am absolutely amazed by this landing physics. Please see in video how shock absorbers behave, and how the wheels behave with respect to the wing shakings, the lift generated by the wings, wheel breaks and etc. Everything is in a great harmony. Well done ED! Perfect work!

For example I know nothing about Russian munitions. That kind of tooltip box would be very nice in case I want to learn SU-33. Otherwise you try something and you try something else, then try to think how this bomb was different from the other. Well you can use the internet to find out what is what, but that's extra effort to study.
-
Thanks for your info. You are talking exactly same thing I mentioned about. But still looking at the 2nd and 4th row it would be nice to explain the difference. This problem is not only for F-5E rockets, but other aircraft and other munitions may also be confusing. For example I know absolutely nothing about the armaments of the Russian aircraft. If I would see a list of the things to be loaded on SU-25 I would suffer.

It would be very nice if the armanent loadout selection screen would include some tooltip boxes that appears when you hover the mouse on the selection. Imagine that you try to select bombs and you hover on mk82. There it should be explained what it is and you hover on cbu52 and see the difference. There are so many types of armanents in dcs and contain abbreviations. It is a bit confusing.

I was looking through the available armanent in the mission editor and saw multiple types of rockets. Is there some sort of table that explains what they are used for and how they are different from each other, maybe some explanations? A tooltip box would be nice when you hover mouse on the armanent selection page. Like what is lau 68 he and what is lau 3 wp, their purposes and effects etc..

Cockpit view zoomed out distortion setting

I am absolutely not making comparison. Just wanted to mention that it can be overcome. This article is very interesting and it is exactly what I am talking about. -
Cockpit view zoomed out distortion setting

I do not agree with that "you can't prevent fish-eye effect" idea. I have been flying Falcon BMS for long time and in that sim this effect does not exist. I don't know maybe some people like it but for me it feels bad. -
Cockpit view zoomed out distortion setting
Terzi replied to Terzi's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
No, I am not taking about the view area or view angle. I am talking about the ratio of the objects while they are in the center or near edges. You can still show a wide area without distorting how big it seems compared to center. Well, let me explain this way. Imagine 2 objects with a length of 10cm and we are in normal zoom. When we zoom out to 50% they both should become 5cm right? Centered objects become 4cm and edge objects become 6cm. This is what I try to tell. -
Hi all, I want to describe the issue since I do not know the technical term for it. While you are in the cockpit in DCS, and the view is zoomed out; the screen edges somehow becomes distorted. I want to have bigger field of view without that distortion. Is there any setting for that? If that explanation is not enough please see this video where the cockpit is zoomed out: Around the center of the screen things are smaller prettier and near the edges they are bigger and distorted. While you are moving your head they seem like elastic. How to prevent this?

aaron what you mention is I think related to flights passing over the TACAN station. I was flying about 20-30NM away.

Title reads "UNATED" instead of "UNITED".

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BzkYV8K2tmevYzdFMWZEWTI2U3c Okay I could reproduce the problem multiple times. Here is the track file. The problem is observable after the first 5 minutes of the flight. I go away like 30NM from Groom Lake and see the TACAN behavior on the way back.
-
In the video at 33:15 you can see the TACAN pointing to correct direction at DME 19. Then there is a left roll (which may be the cause) and you can again see the pointer at 34:00 is wrong. I will try to reproduce it and save track.

I think this needs a fix. Or is it normal?

BUG REPORT : LAU-3 rocket pods + Roll rate question
Terzi replied to Jowen G. Bruère-Dawson's topic in Bugs and Problems
It is not a bug. There is a cover on the head of the rocket pod so you don't see the holes. -
Hello, In this video please watch 34:00. There is a TACAN station to the east of my position. But the needle points in wrong direction (west). When I unset and reset my TACAN channel at 34:15 it becomes corrected.

Thank you guys! Much appreciated. But isn't it strange that the discount does not exist in DCS website although there is a workaround for that...
-
Hello, This weekend there is a 40% discount in Huey module on Steam. The discount is not valid from DCS website purchase. I am not using Steam for my DCS, but I am wondering this: If I would purchase the Huey from Steam, Do I receive an activation key so that I can activate it on my own DCS (not steam DCS)?.
-
I have missed the great discount on this module in Easter. Is there any way that we can get notified about discounts or do need to we check the website regularly by ourselves?

I am not talking about auto hover. I mean the autopilot which makes you move in certain altitude. Sometimes it can be engaged only by manual clicking and not via button assignment. And about the gunsight issue: I set up everything and fire some rockets or guns. Then putting the gunsight in the upper position and nothing works. Normally it should still fire because it is just a piece of glass (not a master arm switch). One extra issue is that when using TrackIR sometimes you see the gunsight symbology out of the glass in case you move your head back and forth left and right.
-
I also noticed that guns rockets and mistrals will not fire when the gunsight is up position.
-
Hi, There is an issue with the autopilot. Although I am in limits to activate the altitude mode, it did not happen with the key that I assigned for altitude mode. But when I manually click to the switch from the cockpit, it works.

Back to this topic again; now I can land and control the aircraft almost perfectly. I have bought pedals. It helped but that was not the only factor why I was failing. I have removed the springs from the joystick and set the axis curves to 33 and that made the huge difference. Thanks for all!
