  1. This is what I've been working on for the past 1.5 years... Ya, I realize it's not a Ka-50 pit... your point? Kitty likes it too! :) Not yet 100%, so it's still WIP, but I can fly it now. :pilotfly: Enjoy
  2. WOW! :surprise::shocking:
  3. We'll see... But in a way, I don't blame him, as we (the community) take things WAY too seriously, so I guess all we can do is wait.
  4. Well, there's nothing stopping you from trying it out! :smilewink: http://www.blender.org http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Blender_3D:_Noob_to_Pro Aero out
  5. I have to recommend CH. I have never tried the cougar so I don't have an opinion of it (though I've heard both really good and really bad stories about it) I settled on CH because I had only heard good things about it and got to test-drive one. I bought the fighterstick the next day. It does have a very light feel, but it very precise. Saitek X52: Excellent entry level stick. It was my first HOTAS and served me very well for over 2 years. However, it simply wasn't precise enough and I converted to CH Logitech: I had a FFB stick from ligitech, and it was absolute junk. I don't know what this new HOTAS it like, but i'm going to stay away from in until i've heard good things... my 2 cents
  6. Damn, Flim, that puts my project to shame! :D Great job :thumbup:
  7. Yes, lockon is the very definition of a buggy game, but with a little patience and luck, you can get it to run reasonably stable. You may wish to checkout http://www.lockonfiles.com for any mods you would like to install. There are so many to choose from here and make the game a lot nicer visually. http://www.flankertraining.com/ironhand is the first place you shouold go to get familiar with the planes and proceedures. The tutorials here are top notch and really give you a good idea of how to do things. Of course, I highly recomend you also do the ingame tutorials aswell before you patch the game to 1.12a if you haven't already. If you have already pached the game, you can find them in video form here: http://www.virtual-jabog32.de/index.php?section=downloads&subcat=50&lang=en On that note, http://www.virtual-jabog32.de/index.php?lang=en is a great resource for lockon stuff, from mods to movies. It's almost another lockonfiles Want to go play online? you'll need HL if you don't want to memorize every server's IP and type it in every time: http://www.hyperlobby.sk Also, get Teamspeak: http://www.teamspeak.com/ so you can talk to people as you fly online. I think that's about all you need to get started. I know it's a lot to take in, but you'll find yourself visitng all these places as time goes on Aero out
  8. It's the Auto Countermeasures thing. You can do it too with Ctrl + Q. I hardly ever use it myself though. Waste of flares. Welcome aboard! Glad to see you're liking it so far, as many people can find it overwhelming. Feel free to PM me if you want some help getting started, as I'd be more than hapy to help someone get in on this awesome hobby Aero out
  9. Awesome job man! May I ask how you did the labels? Thanks Aero
  10. Once you go Track IR, you never look back. It is just as necessary as a good HOTAS. In BS, I have no idea how people live without it Worth every penny. There are some discounts/review here http://www.dslyecxi.com/
  11. J'ai passe l'examen :music_whistling: idk what guixote's native language is, but I know that, in french, you say "passe un examen" which means to take (not to pass) a test. Thus, I think the confusion is in a false cognate. Thanks for the poll :thumbup:
  12. :music_whistling: *sigh* EDIT: No noticeable FPS drop for me either.
  13. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=41170 See #4. Sounds like's it's going to happen this year :smilewink:

  15. For the Su-27 and 33, any chance the cockpit pain could be a bit darker than the stock one? kinda like this? I always thought the stock cockpit was too grayish and not enough blue. Aero out
  16. ED doesn't like people to discuss it, but people have done it *cough me cough* You can do the textures, but not the physical terrain. No way to do that.
  17. hmm, try this: http://flankertraining.com/ironhand/Downloads/XviD-1.1.0-30122005.exe When you go to open the tutorial in game, instead of clicking fly, hit "map" to go to the mission editor and then go to "Flight => Play Track" or press Crtl+P to play the track. Alternatively, you can go to the "show" button on the main menu and navigate to the .trk from there.
  18. Download the Xvid Codec. It should have been installed with lockon, but maybe it got deleted for some reason. http://www.xvid.org/ EDIT: Just out of curiosity, what version of lock on are you flying? 1.02 or 1.12?
  19. You have to be below the fighter that launched the missile (or below the missile if it's ARH, such as an AMRAAM) I fly the Flanker, but the tactic is still the same. Get down to anywhere from 50 feet to 1000 feel and put the missile on your 3/9 like, aka, beaming it, aka, flying perpendicular to it. To further throw it off, try turning 180 deg. INTO the missile after a few seconds of beaming it. This will put the missile on the opposite side of you, feep you in the same general fighting area to avoid any SAMs that might be near by, and will also have made the missile fly farther. There's no magical method to loose it every time, but this should work a lot of the time. However, as you get close, it gets difficult. The best thing to do in the Eagle is to get up to angels 50 and start dropping slammers on people. Good luck! and don't get discouraged. You'll get it eventually. :thumbs:
  20. Ricardo, I would be willing to Beta test or help in any other way if you would like me to. Aero out
