  1. i wasn't really serious, that was just my counter to the P47M nonsense. They both don't belong in a WW2 simulator, maybe after all main aircraft have been included which may be in....20 years. I think it's good as it is.
  2. Hey, pretty simple i just want to limit my Zoomed-Out Fov to a certain Limit, because i wanna get rid of this "Fisheye-look" right now when Fully zoomed out. It seems around 140°, i would like to limit it somewhere around 90°. Fiddled around with the Zoom axis, bud didn't work. Can someone tell me how to do that? Thanks, Celestiale
  3. And after we got the M, we substitute the Dora with the Ta152..because it entered Front line Service at the same time..
  4. Spotting IRL is way way easier then in any flight sim, even BoS. Around our airfield, on beautiful days there is sometimes a lot of traffic. And it's no problem to see even a Gyrocopter [which is even smaller then a microlight] from 4,5 klicks out, at least for me and i am definitely not superhuman when it comes to eyes (wearing contact lenses). As soon as they (planes) go over the horizon from your point of view, they are even easier to see (if it's not in the direction of the sun)
  5. Guys please no BoS vs Dcs here. Stay on topic. :-)

  7. I really begin to fear, that there will be not enough people playing ww2 birds, to get proper multiplayer gameplay. While i missed the crowdfunding unfortunately, i buyed every WW2 modul and the Sabre, and i had or rather still have very high hopes for the future of this project. But.. Every european evening (what is pretty much the rush hour for flight sims) i log into DCS multiplayer, seeing 10-15 players on the most (or should i say only) populated WW2-server. And that maybe for 2 or 3 hours, before and after it's pretty much empty for 21 hours. Credit to the mission builders, that you still find some enemies to dogfight, but this has nothing to do with proper mission play. Day in and day out i am "forced" (still enjoy it of course) to play Battle of Stalingrad or Cliffs of Dover, if i wanna have a proper flight experience, and i wouldn't even mind about the unhistorical map or the modern tanks. Just wanna fly my favourite planes (Mustang, Dora...[P38 one day...]) in a beautiful multiplayer environment. Also hope very much for a populated Sabre against Mig scenario once the Mig and the Korean map are out. Might this just be the silence before the storm?! I really really hope so. I hope that people are just waiting for more planes to come, DCS 2.0 and of course the Normandy map. But is this the case? I mean, with more people in multiplayer, it could be a lot of fun already (had a few good days, especially after the 109 release, there were a few days with around 30 players online), so i can't see any proper reason, why people are not going online right now?! I would really appreciate some answers from you guys, everyone who reads this topic. How you are handling this game right now, and in the future, and your opinion, in what direction it will be going. If we will get regularly 50+ players into a WW2 server, if and when you will be one of them. I think if plenty of people are giving their answers, we will get a pretty good prediction, of how things will be going in terms of multiplayer. Cheers, Celestiale
  8. yeah, fully agree. Alternatively: German: Bf109K4 Ta152 Me262 Allies: P51D 150 oct Spitfire Mk14 Hawker Tempest/P47M But they had to rename it then into DCS WW2 Europe1945
  9. I agree with most of this quote, but not the G6 stuff. After G10 and particularly G14 came out in bigger numbers, most of the G6 were detracted to the eastern front to fight the russians. I think G14 instead of this K4 would be a better reflection of history in terms of plane model and likelihood to meet in late 44. It's also not right, that there was no aerial battle at D-Day because of the "weakened Luftwaffe". The real reason was, that Germany didn't expect that Dday, and almost all of their (western front) planes were stationed in Germany or at the French border. A few days after Dday, once they transfered their planes nearer to the enemy, competitive aerial combat started again. But they still let most of their fighters in Germany, because they considered it more important to defend against the big bomber formations, then using their planes against the enemy ground troops. So yes, an area around western germany and belgium would have been probably the better choice
  10. Mk103 could (and did) definitely kill tanks. German light tanks had this weapon equipped as well
  11. yep. F8, but it only had 35rounds per gun..
  12. With the Mk103 i am definitely with gavagai here. The Mk103 was to heavy for the 109, it had more then 100kg more then the 108. Would have completely f***ed the aerodynamics of the 109, read about it. I think i heared something about it being used in the Hornisse (410), but definitely not 109. With the 151 i am not sure. Rumours. Didn't see any confirmed source so far.
  13. hm, did you harm your plane while landing? or is one just randomly getting kills, if he only damages the enemy plane? damn i really was in good mood after reading that message :noexpression:
  14. had an awesome dogfight over almost 20 minutes against Cpt. Rookie today in your server. Eventually 5 minutes later i got a kill, would be interested what exactly happened, because when i broke off, your plane seemed not to much hurt :) so if you go by, just tell me. S! also S to the server makers...having great fun on this server lately :)
  15. Ok, internal version? So the one which is coming for the next public update? Nice, good to know
  16. Discovered a weird Bug (at least i have no other explanation for this) at the Dora. When i am firing my Guns, the right cannon doesn't fire. Both Mg and the left one are working fine, but no matter what i do the right one stays silent.. Checked this several times in outside view. I also checked the safety switches and all. This occures both in multiplayer and singleplayer. A few weeks ago it definitely worked fine, so Maybe it's something with the latest Updates? Or does anyone of you have another explanation? Cheers
  17. sometime in the future, after finishing study and a lot of work...*dreaming* :)
  18. jcomm you are taking the words out of my mouth! i feel exactly the same way. Both of them have their awesome moments. And both of them have their odd flaws, where you just think "wtf, how could they do this"...it's Fifa and PES all over again. Just imagine if they would work together..would be the best flight sim ever by a mile.. to the stiffening. A force feedback stick would not solve the real problem. Real problem is, that in real life you could not pull your stick to the limits, and no way that there is a FFB who has the power to simulate this (would need around 1500N-2500N, good luck with that). This has to be solved in another way unfortunately (couff - BoS - couff couff)
  19. ok will work myself through the link you gave me thanks. I hope ED finds a way to simulate the stick forces for the Mig15 (and implements this into all the other planes too). Otherwise it will just outmatch the Sabre by a landmile. This would break this encounter completely
  20. I talked mainly about DCS and not 1C. Anyway. Apparentely constructive criticism isn't welcome in this forum
  21. i rather hope that 1C/777 make the spanish civil war, also due to the fact that they already have experience with biplanes. DCS can't even properly handle the late war propeller fighters (way to heavy jet-like flight feeling), they would definitely be overburdened with slow pace 1,5t kites
  22. Wing Snaps off to easy To be honest i wasn't working myself through the whole forum, if there is already one topic about this issue. But i think it's pretty up-to-date, and also very annoying. It's not only the 109, i also realized this with the Mustang before. The wings just snap to easy in a high-G turn in this game. The Mustang was well known to endure very very high G turns (if i am remembering right the highest G load of all WW2 fighters thanks to the laminar wings), but in this game the wings just snap off way to easy. I didn't complain about because with the Mustang it wasn't too serious. But now with the 109 it's just ridiculous. The wings just snap off every time you do a tighter turn when you are flying fast. Come on. How often did it happen IRL that a wing snapped off a plane just randomly in a turn? Almost never. Was just reading a book about manouvering and stuff like that, and the pilots there also said that without a G-suit (in most cases even with) it's close to impossible to brake a wing off a WW2 plane in a turn. Just because the human is not able to pull such a high G. Due to the fact that the 109 is still in beta, i really hope this gets fixed. But when looking at the Mustang, which is out for years i have not too much hope. Can't undestand that this isn't a bigger issue in this forums, IMHO one of the worst flaws in this "real DM/FM wannabe-SIM". Other sims make those things (like high G effects) way more realistic/plausible.
  23. don't know if this plane would make to much sense in DCS. Probably not, at least definitely not from a multiplayer perspective. 6 minutes of fuel are not enough to find any enemy in DCS..in addition it would be close to impossible to kill/hit another fighter (if it would be made right). BUT as soon as normandy map comes out..and there will really be huge B17 formations, like we all hope..this bird could(!!) make sense. But there had to be a proper system implemented. like -->people who wanna fly this bird are waiting in the lobby. as soon as a B17 formation comes close to a 163 airfield, they all got a notification, that they now can start with their planes, and get the B17 coordinations. That could be fun. :) But just throwing this bird in, like the "normal" planes would absolutely make no sense...
