  1. Could you please display your FPS while streaming so we can get a rough idea of performance based on your hardware specs. I currently rock 2 x GTX970's in SLI so I'm hopeful for a min 60 FPS. The framerate in DCS currently tanks when flying the KA-50 with a wingman engaging targets near heavily populated areas. Drops as low as 20 fps at times even with my setup. Looking forward to experiencing the new chrome effects that edge provides. Will be interesting to see if the light glints off the surfaces when at a distance making them easier to spot.
  2. Only a few lines of code completed??? Have you guys forgot about this video already? WpcUu5YZFmI Happy Holidays Guys!
  3. Great kill! I got concerned for you at 08:23:20 when it looked like you were in real trouble. But you either spotted this just in time or made an instinctive defensive manoeuvre to get yourself out of trouble. After that you dominated the rest of the dogfight. Just need to learn to release that trigger finger sooner ;)
  4. Never flown the Mustang so can't compare it but from the German perspective then I would rather take the Dora into combat. The only problem I have with the Dora is landing it for some reason as I struggle stopping it bouncing on touchdown. Seems strange to me because by rights it should be the most stable with its wider undercarriage.
  5. Some might consider flying the F15C at 30000ft staring at nothing but sky and launching fire & forget missiles at rectangular radar blips as exciting as watching paint dry. A lot of the DCS modules require you to visually spot targets which is a real problem in DCS but not for the Huey because it's a f*****g bullet magnet! It always gets my adrenaline going rushing into a hot zone below 100ft, raining death down on targets you can actually see while bullets are entering the cockpit. Different strokes for different folks.
  6. LOL! I bet YO-YO is doing this right now  :wallbash: I've not yet had the chance to fly the plane since the latest patch but I can confirm that they have altered all the external engine sounds. You can listen to them individually if you play the .wav files located in "DCS OpenWorld Beta\Sounds\Effects\Aircrafts\Engines\DB605". The sound of the engine is now of an engine running at a higher rpm across all power settings which is why you may think you don't hear a difference but there definitely is a new power range in sound. It also now sounds like there is a 1500HP+ engine as the sound is deeper and louder at the top end. I would expect and prefer to hear that 1500HP+ engine over some squeaking flap/trim wheel.
  7. It was an entertaining dog fight to watch and you had a few chances of your own for the kill. Your opponent used the YO-YO manoeuvre to great effect many times on you. But you used good defensive manoeuvres yourself to negate a lot of their advantage. What ultimately let you down through out the fight was that you were pulling many more G's to get nose on target because you were travelling too fast. Your opponent was travelling much slower than you (less than 300kph) throughout and combined with using the rudder during turns was able to get guns on you sooner. My only other advice would be when you're in front of them and looking to make a pull turn into them avoid flying just horizontally during the turn. Use diagonal climbs or dives at it's much harder for them to maintain guns on you.
  8. You're like one of those COD campers. Man up and learn to fight!
  9. It shows the wings flexing from the buffeting but there is no permanent wing damage. It is normal for wings to flex inflight but we are talking about the point just before structural failure
  10. If your wing is visually bent then it's already too late. I would think it better and easier to implement the sound of metal buckling before the wings snap.
  11. I see a lot of people recognising the sound of the more famous aircraft - Spitfire! Just like they would with the ME-109 :P
  12. I apologise if I offended you. If you're telling me that what I witnessed in the .trk was not by your inputs then there is obviously something wrong with your A-10C control settings. So if you press RCTRL & ENTER do the flight surfaces correspond to your joystick movements? Are you using a force feedback joystick?
  13. Well the track I just viewed showed an A-10 with no takeoff flaps set, APU still running going cross country and then proceeding to make a 50 degree climb straight after lift off. At stall you then decided to lower flaps for landing and then made no attempt to pull back on the stick after you regained some air speed resulting in impact with the ground. I took over control of your track from the beginning and made a successful takeoff and flight. I would put this down to your lack of knowledge of how to correctly fly an air plane. BTW, if you press RCRTL & ENTER you can view your inputs.
  14. I managed to kill this Mustang with sheer awesomeness alone!!! :pilotfly: Would recommend watching from the viewpoint of the Mustang and F5. Escape and Evasion tactics - The Dora is a nimble little Focker! Clueless.trk
  15. I noticed the wing slat were open. Not sure what effect open wing slats will have. I always thought the slats dropped open under gravity so not sure how they can be open in a pitch up situation.
  16. 1) An upside down aircraft = NO LIFT. 2) An aircraft without lift + afterburner = Ballistic rocket. 3) An aircraft in a spin + afterburner = Catherine wheel = accelerated time to impact. 4) A ballistic rocket without gyroscope controlled engine = BOOM.
  17. I can see what you are trying to do here and in the Russian section Yo-Yo but you can not argue against certain aircraft being famous for their characteristic sounds. Anyone who knows anything about aviation will instantly recognise the following aircraft without even seeing them :- 1) The sound of an approaching UH-1 Huey. 2) The dive of a Stuka bomber 3) The approach of an Me-109. 4) The approach of a Spitfire. It doesn't matter to us the consumer how the sound is generated only that it exists in real life. Even sounds from things that don't exist such as a TIE fighter from Star Wars people will instantly recognise without actually viewing it. You add a TIE fighter to a game with a generic jet fighter sound and people will be WTF! So you can try to hide behind science all you want, complain about the quality of sound recordings but I can assure you that you can still recognise an approaching Huey even with loud gun fire and mortar fire all around you. Just remember that it's better to be an ape than an Ostrich ;)
  18. Günther Rall claimed the firing link chain in the wings would snap under high G jamming the entire system so he chose never to fit them.
  19. ARRRRRRRRRRRGH!!!!!!!!!! Göring give me Spitfire! I hate this plane with a passion right now... 11 takeoff attempts so far and 11 deaths with a max. flight time of 3 secs. How the hell did the Luftwaffe get any pilots to survive their first flight I don't know. Is the Dora easier to get airborne as I'm thinking of converting to that aircraft if it is?
  20. I'm pretty sure this is a FLIGHT simulator not a crash simulator.
  21. Well after carefull analysis ;) I would say the only sound files that could do with some extra work are :- 1) PropIn4.wav 2) ExIn4.wav The sound of PropIn4 is too flat and the engine noise is nearly drowned out by the wind noise. In fact sound files PropIn1 & 2 feature no engine noise and the hiss is nearly as loud as the engine noise of PropIn4. The engine should be more audible than the wind and needs more life, better reverb/bass. Again ExIn4 is a bit too flat sounding although the audible sound level is much better than PropIn4. I think the sound everyone is missing though is what you only hear externally during flybys. Example in the video below at 3:08. I'm not sure if this can be simulated in DCS as a sound file does not exist specifically for flyby.
  22. The Eagle Dynamics car ;) The DEV team also have families to take care of this holiday season.
