  1. We have MiG-21 SARH missiles and they're not that great at range... at least if you want some sort of chance to hit
  2. eh, on paper.
  3. I think this would make them pretty comparable against each other, favor for the Viggen if it gets all-aspect missiles like the Aim-9L. The MiG-21 AAMs are comparable to it in range and are dependent on things like radar lock or rear aspect.
  4. I'm interested too, I don't know anything about the Viggen or how it will place in the ecosystem. I wonder how it will do against the F-5E as well.
  5. I had the exact same reaction  but apparently it's been leaked by steamdb
  6. Not the 190D
  7. There is nothing "Just" about an F-16, Rafale, F-15E or all the other modern fighters people are asking for.
  8. It only has one engine. #F5forCanada
  9. I don't think it really exist anyway
  10. after the Corsair II... All the cool stuff seems to be ages away
  11. They should go with the -35, though I wouldn't be against the Arrow simply because it adds a bit a diversity, even though it is a pipe dream.
  12. I 100% agree with OP. LNS made an excellent module with the MiG-21. To be honest, if it wasn't for the MiG-21, I prob wouldn't be playing DCS as much as I do. I started with FC3 aircraft which seems to be a popular recommendation, but they were so shallow it bored me and made learning DCS as well as the planes in FC3 hard. The MiG-21 is the exact opposite, I have a hard time pulling my self away from it. Kudos LNS
  13. fun isn't objective, there are people who would like the F-117, myself included. There's no reason to campaign against them for thinking it would be a fun plane to fly.
  14. YES! It would be a novelty and I would buy it for that alone, an iconic plane I would want just to fly plus it's simple so it wouldn't hold up other projects that much.
  15. I'd love to have the F4U-4N just to play with the old WW2 radars.
  16. Nope, but I didn't mean to imply that it was a 1950-70s aircraft if that's what you mean  I would buy it over a trainer any day though. To be honest, if it's priced right I'd buy it for it's novelty alone even though it doesn't hold up a torch against a F-18 or A-10C in capabilities. Albeit that's kind of the point.
  17. I agree, if devs are looking towards trainers for their simplicity then there are plenty of planes that are just as simple as trainers that are actually interesting military aircraft. There are literally hundred of 1950-70 fighters that are just as capable and simple as a trainer. I'd kill for a A-1 or a F-117 over a trainer anyday. One of the reasons I love Belsimtek, instead of giving us some trainer, we get the F-86, MiG-15 and the F-5E.
  18. This isn't exactly right, even German aces like Gunther Rall will tell you that the # advantage worked in their favor in regards to air to air combat. Germans had a target rich environment while the Allies had for the most part empty skies which contributed to how easy it was to find and shoot down allied aircraft. Furthermore, IIRC 109s were prioritized on protecting 190s, which would do the large chunk of bomber interceptions. Not that 109s didn't do interceptions.
  19. It doesn't mater anyway, that test has no place in a discussion on WW2 planes. Those are privately own refurbished aircraft, some of which are missing vital components (P-47 lacking a turbo charger for example.) The owner of the P-51 also put limitations on the pilots flying the aircraft to prevent damage to the plane as another example of it's flaws. It really does hold no authority in this discussion at all. Fact that you can find these flaws negates the entire test.
  20. A lot of pilots had little training on how to properly launch AAMs daring Vietnam. You can see the difference in pk between the Navy and Airforce going in favor of the Navy after Top Gun opened up, while the AF just slap the cannon on the Phantom and called it. It's a shame no one decided to do both.

    DCS: F-5E!

I wouldn't rule out the possibility that the F-5E would have Sparrow/Mav supported. If I remember correctly, the F-86F-25 Sidewinders were also a post factory roll out modification. But tbf, I'm not 100% on which Sabre we have in game
  22. Glad someone is
  23. Same, I would be all over that.

    Whats Next?

I would kill for the Harrier to be next, but I believe it's the A-7
