To be fair, you don't get a radar on the Gr.7/9 either, and you also lose out on a gun.
-
It would be awesome if we got the GR.7/9 now and the Av-8B+ later, or the Av-8B(NA) now and the Sea Harrier later. I'm not sure if the Av-8B+ can carry HARMs but I know the Sea Harrier can carry ALARMS, would be awesome to have it for that alone.
-
I'll be happy with either, but the Av-8B nudges out the Gr. due too it getting an actual gun pod, and that makes up for a good chunk of fun in any sim. Even if it wasn't for that, I would still want the Av-8B because 1. Marine Corps 2. It would be awesome to fly with the F-18 and F-14. But I would honestly be happy with either.

That's fine with me, miss understandings happen and it's partly my fault for tip toeing around it. I'll, again, reassure you that isn't what I was talking about..... Doesn't change that I think there are things about the WW2 modules available to us as a whole that leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I honestly kept it short and ambiguous on purpose so we wouldn't have a page long conversation on it but look how that helped. :megalol: I still don't want to, just a passing thought and the F4U and possible pacific theater is more far interesting

Love it!

I didn't even put enough context in my statement for you to draw a conclusion on if something needed fix or not. You don't even know what I have a problem with... spoiler: It isn't the project changing hands. And before people jump to more conclusions, I do think ED is handling it well... just that it could be handled better.
-
Me thinks 3rd party devs will handle WW2: Pacific way better than ED handled WW2: Europe "1944"
-
I guess the technical term would be "Nozzles" :megalol: Yeah, that's what I was talking about... God it looks fun to fly
-
I remember reading that in some harrier pilots would put it in VTOL mode (I don't know what the technical term is) in combat daring the Falklands war. I don't know how much merit that has though
-
To be fair, I wouldn't "reject other modules" if I had a infinite pool of money and time. There are planes that I will buy no mater what, the Harrier, Falcon, Phantom, and such. A F-16 is more interesting to me than a Mirage and because of that, an F-16 would make planes like the Mirage a less of a priority for me to buy. Specially since they are very comparable. Since the Mirage 2000 came first though, more of a chance that I would buy it, which means more money going into DCS from me. I have no doubt that there is a chunk of players that are more liberal with their money and are more passionate about DCS that would buy it anyway. Also, everything is less popular compared to the Viper
-
Marketing I imagine, I would bet the F-16 will be the most selling module to date when it hits. It's best to get all these other lesser known/popular planes a head of it. I can't speak for everyone, but if I had an F-16, the chances of me buying a Mirage 2000 drop significantly for example.

is it possible to use the X52 joystick with the X-55 throttle?
-
How would it ruin it? It's not like it would force you to fly it or even fly with them. Furthermore, civilian aircraft often over laps with with operations you're doing in military aircraft. They both fly in the same air. If you take off from Nevada, military aircraft aren't going to be the only ones flying there. Plus this stuff happens as well Is that a civilian plane in combat with a T-27? I'm not super interested in flying civilian planes, but I am interested in flying with them

We should be getting the Maverick so I'm not to worried about it. Albeit you only get 4 and not 12 that you would with Brimstone :(
-
It was never cleared for deployment due to the Harriers early retirement. Would be fun, and would love to have it... but I don't see it happening.
-
I doubt we'll get brimstone.
-
This, the tools are in the US and the RAAF understands that. The pilots are still learning to fly the thing and IIRC at the moment there are only 2 of them.
-
I would love the Av-8B+ but they said in the podcast that if they do the Av-8B, it's going to be the Av-8B(NA) which from my understanding is a Gr.7 with US weaponry. A bit of a shame, it would be awesome to have the Gr.7/9 that has IR sensors over radar along side the Av-8B that lacks IR sensors in favor of a radar. But as it stands, from the consumer PoV... it's looking to be Gr.7/9 or AV-8B(NA). They're not going to be different enough to buy both. That's if they even do the Av-8B(NA)
-
Av-8B Night Attack may come after the British harriers. They emphasized maybe. Honestly, can't wait.
-
The Harrier would be day one easily, I'd take it over anything in development right now. With a close runner up being the F/A-18. Specially if it's the Av-8B but any of them would be nice.
-
Aren't they both modeled after 1945 versions, I believe the 190 is based off a single squadron on the eastern front. Either way, I'm not super interested in DCS WW2, specially the European Theater, and don't have these planes so I may be wrong again.
-
Oh no, I'm not against fighting Germans with the F4U, just trying to clarify.
-
As far as I'm aware it never saw "action," just service and most of that was in the Scandinavian part of the world. But I may be wrong

We're getting the Hornet by ED

I wonder how big is it going to be. I hope it isn't just Iwo and has north and south Iwo as well as Ogasawara as well. Would be kind of boring if it's just one island.
