I was practicing GBU-12 bombing. After I restarted the mission I could not get the laser code to enter. I have the weapon selected, set the mode and fuse but when I went to set the code, I selected code, clicked on it, entered the code and hit enter. The code flashed on the UFC but did not change from 1111 to the 1866 I selected. After a few tries and rebooting the mission I tried again with the same results. I did a DCS beta repair and got the same results. I also tried using AGM-65s which I have done several times before with the same results. Can't set the laser code. Any suggestions?

F10 When in Mission The current problem I am having with F10 is when you go to it in a mission. In Crimea, FA-18C on a carrier the aircraft show up in the middle of the land mass and no detail data comes up. This also happens when at a land base. This is both in the release version and the beta.

Annimations I agree with a couple of other posts....I would rather have some ground crew figures (similar to the soldiers) that your could put into your missions. But, I hope those will be coming!

Change TACAN Channel You can change the TACAN channel in the Mission Editor by following these steps: 1. Clink on the carrier 2. Click on Advanced Block 3. Click on ADD 4. Type: Select Perform Command 5. Action: Select Activate Tacan 6. Mode: X 7. Channel 55 (or what ever you want) 8. Callsign: I used CVN for the carrier or you can use STN for Stennis

I created a mission F/A-18 Carrier Ops. Many have downloaded it. I have added a couple of comments to the file but this should be noted more so: Note: When I created this mission I was taking off and pulling up to a closed downwind pattern and then configuring and turning to trap. I have since found out that the Stennis Tacan at 1X isn't working properly. You can change the TACAN channel in the Mission Editor by following these steps: 1. Click on the carrier 2. Click on Advanced Block 3. Click on ADD 4. Type: Select Perform Command 5. Action: Select Activate Tacan 6. Mode: X 7. Channel 55 (or what ever you want) 8. Callsign: I used CVN for the carrier Also a really great video to watch to give you tons of details on carrier trapping is by Jabbers under the Hornet files title F/A-18C Carrier Landing/Recovery Tip Requested. Here is the URL if it will print here

[UNABLE TO REPRODUCE] FCS broken - A/P modes dont work
Speedbrake replied to Grodlund's topic in Bugs and Problems
AutoPilot I was having a problem with autopilot modes until I found you can't engage it in AA or AG modes. Make sure your combat mode lights are OFF. -
Update Time The update took longer - about 2.5-3.0 hours. The Persian Gulf Map took a little less. Lots of folks on Torrent! Setup and flew an area checkout.....wow! Really going to enjoy this when the Hornet is released next week. Until then, me and my Harrier will create mayhem!

Some Switches Changed? One of the last updates changed some of the pre-start switch positions. Are you sure your DEC (digital engine control) switch is in the correct position? Far left side behind your shoulder.

My bad Thought Matt had the Earth or setup. Maybe someone else uses it and can share the file?????
-
Matt - do you have a setup you're willing to share on the HOTAS Warthog for the F/A-18 Hornet?

Ground Moving Objects I remember the old Jane's F/A-18C simulation and there being the capability to pick up ground and sea moving objects. Is this part of the future radar capability?
-
Mach Limit Not sure about the F/A-18C but for the F-16 the limit is structural and pertains to seperation of the canopy amonst other limits such as the engine.
-
The old simulation from Jane's - F/A-18 had a small secondary window open up giving you a larger view of "the ball" (IFLOLS) to help with the carrier landing. Is this something planned for the new Horent simulation? While the graphics are great, from the videos posted so far on YouTube, the IFLOLS system could hardly be seen.

Purchasing the Persian Gulf Map for MP, who's buying it?
Speedbrake replied to F900EX's topic in DCS: Persian Gulf
Persian Map Let's see........F-18C without the Persian map....well duh! No contest - get it! -
Kobuleti ILS Got the current update (2-6-18 date) and flew an A-10C mission, not ILS working at Kobuleti. Tacan works fine. I haven't tried any other bases yet. Red off flags on both glideslope and localizer on channel 111.5. Don't recall hearing an ID signal either. Channel selected, ILS selected and indicater bars selected.

Training Missions Until the formal training mission are released, you can go to YouTube "DCS AV8B" and find training is just about all the currently active systems on the aircraft. Poster "Shiftie Mover" is a good source.

Weapons MK-83 MK-20 AGM-65G & F GBU-12 & 16 There are plenty of videos on YouTube showing how to use these on the AV8B systems in the early release.

Zeus67 - I also get RCIP in the HUD display instead of CCIP both before and after applying the hot fixes. However, I did a little investigating. I get these in version 1.5.8 on missions I created in the mission editor. When I try an instant mission, I get the correct CCIP in the HUD.

Are you flying the aircraft in a clean configuration? If so, I previously reported, months ago, that this happens in and around an airspeed of 450 kts. I've never heard that the builders corrected this. Usually you black out and if you are lucky, the jet will slow down and you can regain control. If this is it, put some weapons or tank on it.

Missing M818 Window Textures
Speedbrake replied to Speedbrake's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
I know these seem to be insignificant, but they also can't be too demanding to get fixed since there were fine in previous versions. It makes creating missions with these elements in them distracting. How about it, can we get them fixed soon? -
I agree with Gizzy. I would like it to work where you set it up in the Mission Editor and can have the transport troops actually have waypoints before and after transport. Hope ED is getting this code fixed soon.

I understand why you might have a "Life Bar" reading in game mode, but why does it show up in Sim mode? I know how to remove it but why isn't it a choice in the settings? Or better yet keep it from showing up in sim mode. I have to remove it every time there is an update.

Okay! I'll be dammed! I set up a simple mission. Placed a Huey on the ramp and placed 4 soldiers near it. I called the group "troops". I went into the mission, saw the Huey and the troops. Called up the comms and saw a comm for 7, clicked it and saw troops. When I clicked on it the troops loaded. I then went back to comms and clicked 7 again and then on disembark they showed up outside again. This is in v2.1.1. I didn't have to do anything in the mission editor as I had tried several times a week ago. The troops had NO waypoints. I guess they changed the way embark and disembark now works. YEA!
