DCS 1.2.10 Update 1 / Change Log discussion
Speedbrake replied to Raven68's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Missing Modules Pratt This happened to me too. I deleted the Su-25T training missions from inside the program from the training GUI page and then did a manual repair from programs/eagle dynamics/dc world. This brought them all back. I then of course had to go back and have the program reinstall the Su-25T training. I would try this before deleting everything and starting over. I assume you have read about the renaming of some folders---aircrafts to aircraft. If you have made any missions in the mission editor you need to transfer them (copy and paste) from the appropriate aircraft to the counterpart missions folder in the "aircraft" folder. this is under the "Mods" subfolder in DCS World. Also if you had the English cockpit for the Mi-8 MTV2 installed, you need to reinstall it as it reverted back to the Russian cockpit. -
Really? Maybe because of the change log and the fact that there were other "corrections" made???? Oh well.....
-
I was surprised that DCS didn't fix the pilot's logbook for proper "by aircraft" recording in this last patch. It can't be that big a task. To the powers that are: will this be fixed in the DCS World 2 release?

Is it good to remove the old "aircrafts" from my DCSW ?
Speedbrake replied to Skulleader's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Mission Editor Missions If you created your own Mission Editor missions you need to move them to the "aircraft" missions folders if you intend to keep them before you get rid of the "aircrafts" folder. -
Success!! Thanks! I deleted the Su-25T Training missions, redid the update and all worked well EXCEPT: FYI I noticed that I could not find my own Mission Editor created missions for any of my modules. I went into the "Mod" folder and saw that there were now two folders (1)aircraft and (2)aircrafts. My missions were found under the "aircrafts" folder and when I copied them to the "Aircraft" folder, it all worked out.

Training missions Delete Training Missions....from all modules or just the Su-25???
-
I performed the latest update. Got the "couldn't move Su-25 file" message. But the program seemed to update after that except three of my modules went "missing in action" I had the Mi-8 MTV2, Fw-190D-9 and F-86F modules installed. Now they don't show up in the module manager or in the "can be purchased" part of the module manager. I tried to go into a Fw-190D-9 mission and it opened with the A-10C photo along with the briefing and it entered outside the cockpit. In the mission editor I could not select Player as the pilot. WTF???

Basic Question on Skin The basic "ship with simulation" skin is not in the selectable area in the mission build. How do you get to it after you add other skins into the simulation without removing all other skins???

How to Add Custom Pages to the Kneepad

Sniping Tool Thanks HiJack....I never knew that, or even of the program! -
How to Add Custom Pages to the Kneepad
Speedbrake replied to Loophole's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Kneepad PDF Pages Here is a little trick I discovered to create kneepad pages from the various DCS PDF manuals. Open the manual in Adobe Reader Set the view (page size) to a reasonable scale 100%, 75%, etc. Under EDIT click on "Take a Snapshot" Highlight the area you wish to make a kneepad page (try 3:4 ratio) The program will say snapshot saved) Open a graphic program like "PAINT" and click PASTE. Your page will appear. Click on "CROP" This will give you only the marked area. Save As a png file Name it according to your preferences like A-10C 001, A-10C 002, or Huey 001, etc. It is important that you use numbers like 001, 002, 003 so they will read in the proper order. Place the pages in your kneepad folder as explained earlier in this thread. As far as I am aware there is no division of type of aircraft available in the kneepad function, i.e. you have to replace your pages for each type of aircraft you fly in the top folder. You can create subfolders for each aircraft's pages but you will need to bring them to the top folder before you enter the program. -

Autopilot - unable to engage roll/pitch channel
Speedbrake replied to Trainzak's topic in Bugs and Problems
But..... You have to remember that for each "hot fix" you have to put it in an installer and test that it works both in the sim and in the installer before they can release it. Plus I'm sure that the devs may be working on separate sections of the code meaning that they too also have to update the version they are working on before the fix goes out. This all takes time and with a small population of dedicated simmers....time is money in their pockets. It would be better that they note internally all the changes they are making, make the update to all the devs version so that each individual fix can be sure to "play correctly with" all the other fixes before the updated version gets released. For this fix, there is a temporary solution that works. Use it until the next version is released. :pilotfly: -
Autopilot - unable to engage roll/pitch channel

Great "Temporary" Catch While I totally agree with the last post...this "temporary fix" makes it a lot easier to fly than not having that part of the autopilot working. I'm sure when the official fix comes, it will change the ,lau file in the proper way. Still....way to go!!! -

Thanks 159th_Viper....all I was looking for (short of the actual fix) was acknowledgement that a fix is being looked at. -
DCS Response Check the Bug thread. DCS has replied that it has been reported and is on "fast-track" to be fixed. From 159th_Viper: This matter has already been reported and is registered in the bug tracker as a blocking bug, ie high priority/urgent. More than that cannot be done atm apart from remaining patient and awaiting the fix. I'll endeavour to keep this thread updated with progress reports.

Autopilot - unable to engage roll/pitch channel

Same Here Same problem here. Thought at first it was maybe because I use the English cockpit, but not so. I can't see it being a DCS problem since the Mi-8 is a "beta" without an English manual yet. I would be somewhat happy if someone at Belsimtek would acknowledge the problem.....so far silence! I also have the Belsimtek HU-1H along with the Mi-8 MTV2 and was thinking about the F-86F beta but I am now holding off that purchase until I see some action on their other existing betas. Too many pots and not enough fingers. I suppose I could go back to v1.2.9 where it last worked and wait for a fix or hope it is fixed when v2.0.0 comes out. -
Can you create a new NDB site in the simulation apart from the ones already in the data base and if so how? I know you can add a FM site in the Advanced Waypoint Actions area of the Mission Editor.
-
Thanks but not quite what I was looking for. I determined that you can set up an FM freq. in the mission editor by using the advanced waypoint actions setup. But want I wanted to know is if you can create a ADF (NDB) location separate from the ones that currently exist and if so how you go about it???
-
I have searched the forum for an hour and haven't been able to determine how you set up a radio transmitter in the Mission Editor. Is it possible to set up and assign your own NDBs such as at a FARP? How about the steps? All help is appreciated.
-
Thanks!!!
-
Chazz_BMF where do you download your radio chatter file from? I've looked in the HU-1H user files but didn't see it. Never mind, I found it under DCS A-10C sound mods.

Tutorials A good place to start is to type in: dcs ka-50 black shark 2 tutorials at YouTube.com BUT first I would start on the DCS site: you can download the training videos and incorporate them into the simulation much like doing it from inside the training part of the simulation. http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/video/
-
Getting Training Missions When you load A-10C and go to training in the options you will need to download them. There is a tag that lets you do this on the training page.
-
I assume that there is a DCS World manual in the DOC folder. As for key code, if you go into the setup OPTIONS you will see what all the keys are coded to and you can set up your controllers how you want them.

Move It Left That just means you have to change your ground track (bank left) to the left to line up the fall line and the pickle line.
