Need 2.0 Help with Terrain and Modules!
Speedbrake replied to Mad Dog 7.62's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
If Neavada Doesn't Show in the Module Manager I was directed to another thread that had this information. It is a very large file and on bitTorrent it will take a great time to download, but it worked for me. This is for individuals who do not see the NTTR module in there Module Manager Posting again so people don't have to dig so far back: Make sure you are here: Quote: xx:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World 2 OpenAlpha How To Get NTTR Quote: click on 'bin' - single click, do not open hold LSHIFT + Right Mouse Click Select open command window here type: dcs_updater install NEVADA_terrain hit enter. How To Update DCS2.0 (after initial installer) Quote: click on 'bin' - single click, do not open hold LSHIFT + Right Mouse Click Select open command window here type: dcs_updater update hit enter. -

Yea HTTP! Hit cancel after 4+ painful hours of trying to download. I got the remaining files in about 10 minutes using HTTP. THANK GOD! -

Seems to be Fixed Just tried my Ka-50 mission I made in the mission editor on pre v1.5. It had locked up the last two times I flew it when exiting the mission. It appears that with Hotfix 3 the problem has been solved, or at least it didn't lock up on me. On another note....the smoke plume from the Ka-50's missiles looks amazing and the dust that is kicked up upon hitting the target really adds to the "fog of war". That appears to me to be new on the fix. Great job Eagle! :joystick:

Offical Word???? I really wish someone for DCS would acknowledge that this has been noted and is being worked on because it is really a pain, so much so that I have stopped flying the beta version. :(

Simulation Freeze on Mission Exit Same here, several times already. It froze on my last three mission editor mission on three different modules: UH-1H Huey, A-10C and Ka-50 missions. It freezes but the background music still plays. The double click on exit or alt-ent do not work for me. I have to shut down the computer and reboot. These missions have no problem on v1.2.16 I haven't tried resaving the mission using the v1.5 editor but will try that. Win 7 i7-2600K 3.4 GHz 6 GB RAM Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 Ti 2 GB Video

Operating System for DCS Win 7 64
-
Thanks I think I resolved my situation. I was going to upgrade to an Alienware51 CPU but it only has USB 3.0 ports...a whole s*itload of them. But now I think I'm going to bite the bullet and go up to the Alienware Area 51 which also has 4 USB high speed 2.0 ports. Thanks for you responses.

Anyone out there running a Warthog HOTAS system thru a USB 3.0 port without having to make any system tweeks, crashes, or other problems on Windows 8.1??

Here is my problem. I have a Alienware Aurora-R3 computer that runs DCS fine. But my video card has quit on me, Code 43. It locked up on a webpage went all static and then said the drivers were being restored. When it came back up it was booted into 640x480 rez with no option to greater, really bad looking. I uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled them (NVidia GeForce GTX 560 Ti). The uninstalled boot had all kinds of static broken lines across the monitor and the desktop while clearer, still had lines. I reinstalled the most current drivers...no help. I uninstalled again and reinstalled a rollback set of drivers, no luck. I uninstalled again and let Windows get the drivers, still no luck. Widows is still telling me code 43 and stopping the video card. I am told I have a limited option to replacing the video card in that machine, all of which are out of production. I can pick up a used replacement $200 from Amazon but I am still not sure if it is now the video card or something else. I have complete access to the hard drives, printer, etc. at 640x480. So I don't think it is any other computer hardware problem, maybe something in Win7, possible. Finally here is the question, as much of a pain as it will be to save all my files on the old machine and reinstall all my DCS modules plus RoF and IL-2 1946, and IL-2 BoS it may be time for a new system. I was considering a new Alienware X51 system but it only comes with multiple USB 3.0 ports, some normal some high speed. I have been reading on this forum about problems plugging USB 2.0 devices into USB 3.0 ports along with Windows 8.1. Is anyone running a new Alienware system with those type of controllers and Win8.1? If so are you having any problems? I'm looking for information and suggestions. I have always had DELL and are very happy with them.

Absolutely the F/A-18C...really want US carrier operations. Also I would like to see a DCS version of the IL-2 but there is no proper terrain for it yet. The F-16C would be nice too! From a helio standpoint the Apache would be a good buy.

Thanks. I sent in a ticket to support. Hopefully something will happen. Thanks!

Really....no response from DCS????

Greetings! I keep trying to get on the newsletter e-mail list but I never get the e-mail with the confirmation code. I've tried several times, checked my inbox and spam folders, etc. but it never appears to be sent to me. Is there a problem with the system on your side?

Flaming CLiffs None of the aircraft in Flaming Cliffs have a clickable cockpit. They were developed initially under LOMAC (Lock-On Modern Aircraft Combat)., followed by Flaming Cliffs and Flaming Cliffs 2. The first DCS aircraft with clickable cockpit was Ka-50 Black Shark followed by the A-10C and all the others. I believe that realistic mode has a lot more options for setting up your controls.

Logbook This has been reported many times. The last time I questioned it, a few weeks ago, I was told that it is fixed in the new 2.0 version that is to be released sometime in the future, hopefully by the end of the year. While it doesn't track your time by module, it does add it to the totals.

Where do I find the complete monthly newsletter and how do I go about getting it sent to my e-mail?

DCS 1.2.10 Update 1 / Change Log discussion
Speedbrake replied to Raven68's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Missing Modules Pratt This happened to me too. I deleted the Su-25T training missions from inside the program from the training GUI page and then did a manual repair from programs/eagle dynamics/dc world. This brought them all back. I then of course had to go back and have the program reinstall the Su-25T training. I would try this before deleting everything and starting over. I assume you have read about the renaming of some folders---aircrafts to aircraft. If you have made any missions in the mission editor you need to transfer them (copy and paste) from the appropriate aircraft to the counterpart missions folder in the "aircraft" folder. this is under the "Mods" subfolder in DCS World. Also if you had the English cockpit for the Mi-8 MTV2 installed, you need to reinstall it as it reverted back to the Russian cockpit. -
Really? Maybe because of the change log and the fact that there were other "corrections" made???? Oh well.....
-
I was surprised that DCS didn't fix the pilot's logbook for proper "by aircraft" recording in this last patch. It can't be that big a task. To the powers that are: will this be fixed in the DCS World 2 release?
-
Is it good to remove the old "aircrafts" from my DCSW ?
Speedbrake replied to Skulleader's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Mission Editor Missions If you created your own Mission Editor missions you need to move them to the "aircraft" missions folders if you intend to keep them before you get rid of the "aircrafts" folder. -
Success!! Thanks! I deleted the Su-25T Training missions, redid the update and all worked well EXCEPT: FYI I noticed that I could not find my own Mission Editor created missions for any of my modules. I went into the "Mod" folder and saw that there were now two folders (1)aircraft and (2)aircrafts. My missions were found under the "aircrafts" folder and when I copied them to the "Aircraft" folder, it all worked out.
