  1. What are your hardware specifications?
  2. The Nevada map certainly taxes a VR user's limits. I can't use it, but the v1.5 map is nearly smooth at 75 all the time (with reduced graphics of course). I'm curious to know if even ED really is interested in the VR user base and what will become a much larger one in the future. Sure, they have excellent VR support so far. But it is just lip service or do they really care to optimize and improve the VR experience as part of their general development goals? And some VR User fly-ins would be fun. We host a small 10 user TS server at derekspeare.typefrag.com - password = dsdftw - which would work nicely for it.
  3. It's tough to discern what other planes are doing when they are at a distance: the farther away, the worse it is. This is a shortcoming so far with VR. I notice it in the racing games, and worse, in flight sims. It appears to be exacerbated by the SDE currently. I'm cautiously optimistic that the next version of the Oculus will bring improvements. If the SDE is (virtually) eliminated, then there is a good chance we'll be able to see other planes at A2A distances more clearly. I agree with VicX as well. Once you start flying (and driving) with VR, there's no looking back at anything else.
  4. Thank you - the manual I have is specifically entitled "Lock On Flaming Cliffs 3", however.
  5. Hi all, I'm pretty new to DCS. The Flaming Cliffs manual shows large (and presumably dynamic) localizer and glideslope indicator when the F15 is in ILS Mode. However, when actually flying the plane (DCS v1.5.2) the markers for the localizer and glideslope are not there, those being replaced by a small "+" sign. While I can land the plane looking at the ADI/ILS, what does one do to bring up the markers on the HUD to make this task easier? Thanks for any help! NB - the HUD graphic is attached below for reference.
  6. A Magistrate Judge issued the order. From there it still needs to go to the District Court Judge for their adoption, if any, or ruling. I don't think he'll depose, and at best, ZeniMax should hope for some type of settlement.
  7. It's good to have been pointed to this thread as it has enlightened me to the differences between the DCS F15 and the real one. I agree that developers can benefit from having feedback from those in the community with real world experience.
  8. So coaxing it into stopping is the solution, then, seeing as there are aspects of the plane which may not be modeled properly. :joystick: :pilotfly:
  9. I'm using the Oculus so the FOV on the screen will be wonky compared with what I am actually seeing in the cockpit with the visor. Believe me, it's perfect there ;)
  10. *doh* *slapshead* #controllerfail Thanks, Gents - I can't believe I didn't think of this. All is go. Cheers

  12. This discussion has been VERY helpful! Thank you, Gents...Aero braking is a cinch with a bit of practice and precisely what's needed to finesse this bird to a stop.
  13. There's a chute function in the key bindings, but it doesn't do anything. The F15 doesn't use a braking chute TTBOMK. What's it for in DCS?
  14. The reality is VR. If developers don't take ownership of this fact, they will be left to rust. VR isn't going to take over tomorrow, but in the years to come, it will be the way games are enjoyed.
  15. The Streak Eagle was just bare aluminum...even the paint was too much weight :) http://www.pw.utc.com/News/Story/20150218-0945/2015/All%20Categories
  16. Two good observations   :pilotfly:
  17. I did a few touch and goes at Kutaisi following the advice given here. I think all I need to know the the final approach speed (~170kts maybe?). It appears that Aero Braking is the "secret"
  18. Thanks, Gents - looks like I need to fine tune my skills :joystick:
  19. Hi All, I cannot seem to get this plane to come to a complete stop after landing. I apply the wheel brakes and it begins to weave down the runway and eventually runs off into the weeds and then I die. I have a button bound to "Wheel Brakes On" and I press and hold it or cycle it. I also tried binding buttons to both the left and right brakes but get the same thing. Is there something I can do?
  20. I tested the heat effects with the F15 and didn't see any.
  21. It is me or are the heat effects disabled when using the Oculus?
  22. Here's a video showing what's (not) going on :) [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WFbfIAkpIdI[/ame]
  23. This problem still exists. No matter what I do, the engines in the SU25T will not start. The green lights on the panel flash very briefly but the engines do not come up. NB: The title of the tread is in error. Please correct if possible.
  24. Me too - it's kinda cool to see it, but I understand some want it off.
  25. ED could supplant FSX/P3D as the de facto flight sim of choice by allowing third parties to create new map areas and new aircraft. They'd be well served to take a cut of the action for each add-on sold, and doing that, they'd make a mint. Their asset has so much potential.
