I want to slightly dampen the pitch axis for the F-86. The movement from center to slight up or down is most sensitive. As it goes away from the center the sensitivity of the axis diminishes. The result is that during slow speeds especially final approach I can't adjust the pitch of the aircraft without making it oscillate endlessly. 1. Could someone explain to me what these settings like, curvature, deadzone, etc do? I really have no idea and usually follow some guides or tutorials to set up my axes without understanding them. 2. How to dampen the initial pitch movement from center?

Is the EMERGENCY IGNITION switch on in the up position or down?
-
How do I do it? I've got Chuck's guide but don't know what to do with the emergency restart switch. I've been trying to practice my gunnery skills in a 1v1 with a Mig-15 but I often get flameouts (I'm pretty sure it's because I kept the engine at max. RPM for far too long) I also tried to make a mission in the mission editor but the I can't understand the failures listed. How can I replicate a flameout in a training mission?

Pedal brakes don't hold at full RPM
irfanahmed1979 replied to irfanahmed1979's topic in DCS: F-86F Sabre
Yeah thanks. I fixed it with a little tweaking to the axis. Each pedal axis had a curvature of 20 so reduced that to 0 and X and Y saturation to 100. -
Pedal brakes don't hold at full RPM

I'm not sure. I was flying the takeoff training mission. -
I have CH rudder pedals and I have set the toe brakes to wheel brakes in the game. However, before taking off when the engine spools up to 100% RPM and I'm holding the brakes the aircraft starts to slightly crawl ahead when it reaches full thrust. Is this normal?

I remember when I used to play Falcon 4 BMS, the maximum amount of internal fuel that the F-16 could land with was 4600 lbs IIRC. So pilots had to burn the extra fuel before making a landing. In some versions there was even a fuel dumping option but in BMS it wasn't included I think because in real life it doesn't happen (I may be wrong). Anyway, 1. Is there any limit to the landing weight of the Sabre Jet? 2. I landed sometimes with my external fuel tanks still attached but usually they touch the runway slightly but the plane remains intact. Has anyone tried a successful landing with external fuel tanks on?

Anyone?

In the mission the instructor says something about catching the nose wheel with the pedals and that you can't do that beyond 21 degrees. I toggled off the simple nose wheel steering option and did not see any difference in the handling of the nose wheel system.

Hi, I tried the taxi mission in the training section for the Sabre Jet. The Humvee or jeep that I'm supposed to follow, starts moving and I taxi behind it, however it soon takes a U-turn and goes back very quickly. If I stop taxiing it tries to come back at a high speed and rams straight into my jet. Is this because I'm taxiing too fast or something else? What is the right taxiing speed?

By that I mean that the: 1. Huey and Mi-8 should be able to load/unload troops and cargo(Mi-8MTV) in-game without any user-made scripts 2. Troops/Cargo weight should be simulated. 3. Animation of troops embarking/disembarking and sitting inside the helos would be a bonus. Also if the Mi-8 is carrying any cargo pellets or crates, they should be visible too. 4. Mi-8 winch on left door be made functional 5. Ability to para-drop troops from the Mi-8. (I've seen this happen on local T.V. channels, in fact they were jumping out from the cargo doors) That maybe a lot but after all it's a wish list.:)

I tested this with the Huey also. Same result, the skids are little higher than the actual rooftop even after landing on it.
-
I've noticed this on two separate occasions while attempting rooftop landings with helos. The first helo I can't remember whether it was the Huey or Mi-8 but the second time it was an Mi-8 and after landing its wheels weren't touching the rooftop. They were are the same level at the raised edges of the rooftop. Here is a video link to elaborate what I'm talking about. You can skip to the end where to get a clear picture.

Thanks Chuck

The thing sticking out above the left door, is that a winch? Is it operational in the sim? In real life is it used for SAR?

Rudder full manual control

thanks -
Hi there, I've turned off the autopilot helper off in the special settings for Mi-8. I also didn't turn on the heading autopilot/trim switch during flight. However, the rudder seems to have a mind of its own. When I turn the rudder pedals in a certain direction the controls get fixed or trimmed in that place and changing them to a different direction does not happen quickly; it takes sometime or delay. Q1. Is there a way to fly the Mi-8 with full rudder manual control like in the huey? Although I don't mind the trim or helper which sets them in a certain position for long flights but when transitioning from flight to hover it can cause problem because they take time in adjusting. Q2. I've read over and over again in numerous posts that one should keep trimming the mi-8 during the entirety of the flight. How do I do that? Is it the stick trim (roll and yaw)? or something else? Thanks in advance.

Verified the game files. All validated correctly. I said in my original post that the trees looked "almost" the same. I meant that the difference was not too great. Also the trees in the promotional video look much more realistic than in game. However the objects are better lighted now and the terrain from a distance looks much better.
