  1. The Elbrus Rescue Flying the Elbrus Rescue mission. I still need more practice. Got away with one or two potential collisions to the ground but maybe it was snow :)
  2. Huge Fly Past Well it might not be huge but it's pretty big, although it did not go according to plan. Anyway interesting to see lots of AI Hueys in one place.
  3. DCS is a combat Sim which means there will be 'combat' in many cases (not a pleasant thing in real life). Or you could fly transports only or from point A to point B admiring the scenery which I do most of the time. A weapon is a weapon not a bouquet of flowers or a box of candy. Napalm is a weapon, probably more vicious than conventional bombs (I hope I never get to know.) If it's possible, I would like to see Napalm modeled in the game.
  4. I have the Steam version. I think all my modules are the ones with the Starforce keys, no internet activation needed right now. I wanted to know that if I purchased one of the newer modules and forgot to startup DCS for more than 3 days without using the offline mode, would I have to call customer support? I'm only asking this as I'm not clear about how the new system works.
  5. Could someone list all DCS aircraft that are study level?
  6. A short clip of the Huey landing on the Stennis
  7. Practicing with the Huey. Took it for a spin around Batumi in a circuit pattern. Would like you guys to comment on how I could improve upon my hover, transitions and landings (which I messed uo as usual https://forums.eagle.ru/images/smilies/joystick.gif) I first tried practicing the hover and then again before takeoff. During landing I was trying to get into a stable hover IGE over the runway threshold. Also I should have added more power before starting the takeoff run as the Huey was in a gunship configuration. I'd like advice on: - when to start descent and the proper descent rate - whether I should go down to the deck and then approach the runway and slow down - how much collective should I increase before I enter VRS?
  8. Oil Rig Landing Instant Action Mission My first flight in almost a year in the UH-1H. This was my second attempt at the mission :)
  9. The Rocketeer Trying out the rockets and guns on unarmoured vehicles
  10. Oh! keeping that pipper on the Mig is easier said than done :(
  11. I came across this issue a few years back while watching a few YouTube videos. It appears that when the F-14 makes contact with the basket the hose starts oscillating which I've heard, if not corrected can be dangerous. I found this old Grumman documentary/video on the training and conversion of Imperial Iranian Air force pilots to the F-14. The issue I'm referring to is talked about at 15:40 in the video. My question is, will this be modeled in Heatblur's Tomcat? Actually it's more to do with the hose than the aircraft I think.
  12. Is there a place where we can share our videos? Or can we post them in this forum? Here's one on landing. Not very exciting but for me successful landings in the Sabre are rare as I'm out of practice.
  13. Latest patch has vastly improved the guns, watch:
  14. Yeah I need practice.:)
  15. Thanks! That's really helpful.
  16. I usually practice Air-to-Air gunnery in a custom mission. Maybe I'm out of practice or maybe there have been a few changes due to the updates since 2.5. I used to have better luck in 1 vs 2. Sometimes even getting both Mig-15s. Now I just can't land the shots on the target. 1. The piper seems to be less accurate, at least to me. The slightest of movement and the shots deviate. I try to adjust my shots by looking at the tracers. 2. I tend to overshoot a lot and have no counter to the situation. Even brakes don't help. Must be a better way of maneuvering. 3. I can't seem to locate the switch which would set the gunsight to fast or slow rate of closure.
  17. Thanks for the quick response. Where is this indicator light or what is it called?
  18. Chuck's guide of the F-86 Sabre says on page 13 that the FUEL TANK JETTISON SELECTOR switch/knob is also used for determining where the fuel pumps will take the fuel from. 1. Is this correct or a mistake? 2. How can I see how much fuel is left in the outboard external fuel tanks and if available the inboard tanks also? 3. So if Q1. is true then if I turn the switch to right inboard Jett position then after a while I would create an imbalance in the aircraft due to the right inboard fuel tank being empty and lighter in weight?
