  1. it does not effect the su33 right now though.
  2. I would think a korena map, or north japanes map would be nice. as its a major naval war and would set up a very nice nato vs warsaw set up. and has enough wetness for the f14.
  3. find it funny you dont even read what I said. secondly, you do realise I dont have a problem, I am offering advice to the op. lastly, you would be supprized just how much electric power could be drained by having random circuts open.
  4. make sure your battery has at least 20volts before starting, you may need to turn off a lot of the systems before starting, including the radar atliminar, and the doppler radar. as well as the autopilot.. as far as the lights go, they automaticly turn off. other then that, you can try using ground electric power to help get it started.
  5. btw, there is one very useful tutorial included in your sim, its called the manual. also a number of people have made online tutorials, but the manual covers everythign but the combat theroy my recomendations is to read the manual from cover to cover 3 times, then outline the operations section, then use that while doing the tutorials to get your pratices in. you will at that point more or less know everything you need to know about it.
  6. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_G7FY0og60k this film more or less covers how the f86 handles. so pay attention. (f2j is basicy the navy veron of it)
  7. both of those, I would give up half my blood for ether of them, especaly the ov10, such a capable aircraft. it can use any modren cv with out needing hooks or cat's, heck, it would make a great partner for the su33's as a fac. anyway.
  8. I just checked the tags I used and it was [] kind so its not that. is the link for it so might try that one until its fixed.
  9. just a random video I felt like making, I am no expert in the huey, but its great fun. just need to feel it out and it does what you ask of it. (still suck on transition into hover above ground effect)(YOUTUBE)(url) )(/YOUTUBE) feel free to laugh or what not. not like I can stop you. *edit* this is the direct link as the inbeding is broken
  10. the main point of bvr is to win the breakfight. (aka when you have broken your air oposition and they are fleeing) usually air 2 air never lasts that long. thats why the r27's are not as bad as people think. also, I find it odd that most missions in these sims lack civilan air trafic or third party military targets. even at war, there will still be flights. and not all radar and transpoders can respond at the ranges that people would expect. (also with the number of transponder failures in nations with developing air trafic) in part, the biggest part that is much harder to simulate in dcs world is just how much your hands are tied behind your back in the real world.
  11. alright. I have started working on my second mission, however I have found that with out getting into scripting, I wont have the ability to make the mission run well or be worth replaying more then a few times. but I have not spent much if any time scripting sense high school (a few years ago) so quite lost. primarly I want to have hostile fighters spawn in, in waves (1-3 groups of 4 ship flights) but have it so that there are only one wave of hostiles at a time. I also want to have netrual/civil fights which are iff non responsive flying through the airspace (but not too many as to lag out the sever) lastly I want to have the ability to get reports when anyone shoots down a civil target as well as a normal squad based score count (using the 16 fighters split into 4 squads) it would be also nice to have a automatic rotation of awacs and tanker support (as the mission takes place almost 800km away from batumi.) I know there is a cap gci script thingy, but it seems very much about automatically setting up defensive caps rather then being able to focus on defending/patroling the major shipping lanes. anyway, if anyone wants to see the demo of it that I set up. just pm me.
  12. when the sever is up, (usualy every other to every night) it will be called su-33 training or something like that. we will share our ts3 with anyone who joins. but usualy we only know which one we are using the day of. yesterday we had a few people on, and it was quite fun. we have one training mission, and two combat missions. will be adding more later on.
  13. First mission is up. hope you guys enjoy it. http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1250530/
  14. Produced and tested the first serious cv mission. it was doable (with one or two losses) with two people, but intended for 4-8 and allows up to 16, currently that mission is waiting for approval on the user files section. however getting more people especially on coms would make this even more fun. as sever hosting is out of my hands at the moment (though I do have friends who can host for me semi consistently and usualy getting at least one two to three hour session each day. if other groups want to help with these missions. then do feel free to ask. also if you want to join in the missions. its best to contact me on steam (which if you pm me, I will link it to you) ether way. I am still working on this every day. so feel free to join in.
  15. After testing the first mission with one other player. I feel its ready for release. its simple enough of a mission, but it also puts a realsitic and stressful setup. currently put it into the userfiles and will update the main post when it is approved. if you want to get a verson before it is approved, pm me and I will send you a link to it. I am also working on a mission to use ka50 and or mi8's to spot and mark targets for the su33's to bomb with a light fighter sweep element.
  16. been working my friends on setting up realistic cv missions for coop online. we will have (usualy) ts3 severs available. our missions will primarly be around using the su33 in different roles while (if we can get enough people) including ka50's and mi8's (occasionally hueys if people want it) we will be using ts3 as a simulated radio, people will be expected to know how to listen, we will rely on proper coms. also we will be following proper cv launch and recovery patterns. mission length will be between a hour or more depending on what people want. are goals are too have fun, build teamwork, communication and piloting skills. pm me if you want to help out or join in. *update* we will ususaly use the name "su-33 training" or something like that. feel free to join.
  17. alright, I have build my first cv mission. its built around a fleet def cap operation, should be able to get it up later tonight to test it. so pm me asap if you want to join in the testing. the mission is intented for a full cv (16 pilots) but should be double with less. there are some expectations for this mission, hopefully we will have ts3 avable and all testers are expected at least be on it if we have it, also people are expected to read the breifing and follow directions. hopefully this will be a good mission and well worth the experance, also if anyone wants the draft of the mission, pm me and I will send it to you.
  18. thanks for the support belgeode. got one of my wingmen fixed to be able to host, so testing is going to be less painful. did good starting mission for helping build basic cv skills with him and the third member of our wing. anyway, for my first mission that is serious, will involve a fighter sweep with two wings, and a posable supprise at the end. if you want to keep up with whats going on. you can bug me on my steam account http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198043713818/ also for my pratice missions, its annoying to try to do a2a refueling as the only way I could get the tanker to stay in station for long periods of time was though setting it to orbit. but then its always turning and is more of a pain to refuel from. I am not sure if there is a way to loop a flight plan so I dont have to set up a million waypoints to keep the tanker on station for a few hours. anyway. going to take a nap before I go too crazy.
  19. been thinking for a while the last few days about building and running cv mission online (with the su33 and heli's) and after talking with some of my wing mates, I have decided to start making some missions to run with them. however I am still new to developing missions and also unable to host on my own (one of my wingmans can, but he on the other side of the world) so I wanted to see how many people are intrested in this. and if anyone wants to help. my goal is realistic (launch and recovery cycles, using the deck space for parking when posable, and group style engagements) cap/fleet defence, coin, csar, and joint strike missions using the su33, ka50, mi8tv and huey. (and any other cv aircraft that come out) anyway, I likly am thinking too big for now. but I thought I would open this topic up anyway. *first mission up* http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1250530/ its a defensive cap mission. hope you guys enjoy it
  20. its not just a intersepter, its a over engineered flying wing that has all sorts of gadgets crammed everywhere, its also a plane thats partly trying to kill you or break on every turn. its not just a intersepter, its people who think they have more brains then they do trying to make a "plane of tomorrow". its a plane so bad that erich hartman got discharged from the west german airforce for saying how terible it was. it was a spectacular failure so bad, more so because it had the potential to be sooo good. sure it on the outside looks like the mig21, but the same could be said about the saber looking just like a mig 15. or a su33 looking a ton like a tomcat.
  21. been working on the basic flight of the mi8 and so far have no major problems with it. but I want to do some formation work and stuff like that. so I do hope to get involved in some mp.
  22. the trick is they had enough vodka for both the pilot and for bribing the tower.
  23. I think he is talking about the second mission, from what I remember, the second mission requires you to again, follow waypoints very accuratly, and if you get too far off corse, then they will shoot you down. try rereading the mission instructions and wrigting down the flight plane and major nav notes so that you can follow the flight plane to the t.
  24. no problem, have not used bombs or rockets yet so sorry. but if you want, i can test them for you. though later in the day.
  25. a trick to help with waypoints, in the mission planner, pick the closesd rsbn station that you know of to the waypoint, then find the distance to it from the rsbn station, then determen the heading towards the waypoint, wright this down and use it to compare your position so you know when you have arived, then wright down the heading you need to fly. next do the same for each waypoint until you have finished with them all. once done, you should be able to get close enough to each waypoint with out any problems. flight plan notes are very helpful. on combat missions, I would also recomend writting down other key information such as where the aaa and sam support is located, as well as where friendlys are expected to be and such. with good notes you wont get lost or outnumbered as often.
