Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 9
Badlego replied to gregzagk's topic in Multiplayer
is it possible to move ammo trucks somehow? -
is it possible to get SAM kills into the stats, maybe with the related pilot who unpacked it? and what about rearms and repairs?
-
why did it end that fast? was blue up alone for one night and took all objectives?

104th Phoenix - Operation Longbow - Dynamic PvP Mission
Badlego replied to 104th_Maverick's topic in Multiplayer
i dont see airbase markers on the f10 map anymore when these airbases are taken. only neutral airbases are visible. -
104th Phoenix - Operation Longbow - Dynamic PvP Mission
Badlego replied to 104th_Maverick's topic in Multiplayer
As i do not know where else to check the mission briefing and farp markers i have to bump this thread, because scrolling to page 4 is going to be annoying. Does anyone know how close ground troops have to be dropped to attack enemy troops at neutral or enemy airfields? -
how does the SA-6 work after deployment and unpacking? I was shot down...well i exploded in the air...with mi8 a few hundred meters away from a deployed KUB unit (two crates+unpacked). I cannot say if the KUB was already empty. But is it also possible that it is bugged somehow? And can it be shut down by the GCI?

So is the jhmcs we get for the hornet projecting to the right eye only in reality?
-
taken from this link: https://www.rockwellcollins.com/Products-and-Services/Defense/Avionics/Displays-and-Controls/Helmet-Mounted-Displays/Joint-Helmet-Mounted-Cueing-System.aspx The jmcs is projecting to the right eye. Will the implementation for vr also be for one eye only? Can we setup the implementation for VR to right eye only or left eye only to adopt to personal eye-strenght/health....i can imagine having the display on both eyes will result in strange double sight...

Much better video card = same frame rate...

did you check your cpu performance and temperature f.e. with task manager? -
110 knots? is the hornet even flying at that speed? the mirage like all other delta wings have no stall speed. they always provide lift as long as the engines provide enough thrust against the increasing drag. All non delta planes like the hornet should fall like stones at that speed...or should be close to...the actual flight models of all planes may have some issues, of course, but in RL i would still say that the mirage can outturn all othrr non delta planes at low speeds.... I must not say that you sure did something wrong when you ended up at 110 knots in a dogfight...

thank you for the guide. Can please anyone explain the whole AoA indexer thing again? for me it seems all the other way around as described in the guide. p 28...the AoA is the angle between the W symbol and the velocity vector...the AoA bracket shows the best AoA for landings, between 7,4 and 8,8 degree. with increasing speed the AoA decreases right? So when the velocity vector is above the bracket im too fast right? the guide is not consistent: in the screenshot the symbol shows the green lines above the yellow circle in the AoA indexer when the AoA is too small. the table to the right says this symbol lights ub with too high AoA and is called slow although the correponding speed in the screenshot is too high (163).. additionally the order from on speed to fast in the table is not consistent with the order from on speed to slow... I think the table should be corrected by the following: fast symbol should be slow. slighly fast symbol should be slighly slow, slighly slow symbol should be fast. slow symbol should be slighly fast.

can you please re-add some mirages ro blue?
-
Flying in high turbulent wind fields causes high amplitude rudder oscillations which affect the stability of the plane. i dont have a track yet but can look for some boat landings on the 104th were i noticed it. steps to reproduce: fly at landing speed through wind with high turbulence parameters and watch the rudder when the plane begins to wiggle around. wind and turb values are not known yet but should be around the properties on the 104th server.
-
these are the wing vortices. its a bug. they appear with higher wind speedw and turbulence

have you looked at the radar display with WoW? the cross is indicating standby but the radar beam is scanning and finding targets....so i guess the standby mode is not finished yet.

missile missile kills will happen when the time between two launches is too short: acceleration time is always the same. so when you fire a missile short after the other, at first all missiles will fly to the same point and therefore form a cluster that will get more tight with approximation to the target. when burn time of the first missile is finished it starts decelerating while the other ones behind it are still accelerating....and faster. and you can imagine what happens next

your right, its a mission design thing. the red objectives are too far away from the battlezone which is around khasab AB. so its just flying dropping bombs and returning. additionally the red tankers are too far away...on blue mirages could do AG, AA and Air refueling in one flight. thats why i want to see the mirage back on blue, or give red the same Environment.
-
A reason to fly mirage at blue is combined AG and AA. AG with mirage on red is boring, whereas blue mirages also must deal with f5 coming from Khasab. Red is outnumbered because of f18s and that doesnt really count as the f18 can be fought very well until it gets a proper radar stabilization and TWS mode...

yesterday and some days ago suddenly all units exploded at the same time. players, AI planes and ground units. Any hint what was going on?
-
Countering all Pitch, roll and bank movements of th plane.

everyone here knows that. thats why we are discussing it. and now we also know what the devs noticed it and that the radar is in good hands to be improved. thank you for the reply!

[ALREADY REPORTED] Radar too unreliable on ACM and RWS
Badlego replied to riojax's topic in Bugs and Problems
maybe this helps: during the lock process (between tdc press and lock aquired) the radar beem has no stabilization: it keeps the same angle relative to the plane. rolling or pitch sweeps away the beam and breaks the lock. after a successfull lock the roll stabilization of the beam is too weak. only slow rolling can keep a lock. faster rolls result in unintended beam-sweepings that breaks the lock. this happens in rws and all acm modes. -
Since my last post here i got some time to learn the hornets radar. it took 1 week till i got the first mp bvr kill. now my impressions: first, the hornets radar seems to be the most powerfull and reliable in rws mode in dcs. i never was surprised by enemies within 40-60 miles and could even grt sst locks at 80 miles and more. The radar can be swept in stt mode with the tdc in all directions. as soon as the radar line is stable a target is found and will be locked......its like fishing and a big advantage to other radars IMO. Bugs: the radar is not stabilized during the locking process. a lock can only be aquired when no pitch or roll movement is performed. in stt mode with a locked target the radar can only compensate small angular velocities for roll movements. too hard rolls will sweep the beam away from the target. vertical angular velocities seem to be not a problem. fast rolling maneuvers can only be performed when pointing the plane directly on the target. ACM modes also suffers from the missing stabilization. using VAM and WAM results in instant losses after lock because dogfight= movements...boresight is ok as the target is visible and can be kept in the BS circle. TLdr: during lock process the radar has no stabilization resulting in losing or not locking targets with relative ang. velocity. in stt mode only slow roll movements can be corrected, whereas pitch correction is ok.
-
the basic new mechanics in the lock mechanism will not change IMO...i guess some W will be IP to improve the lock stability, and slave antenna to tdc angle in tws and hopefully also in rws....
-
the lock process takes about 1~2 seconds for all acm modes abd in bvr for my experience...qualitatively this is realisitc but i dont know the real amount of time...notching targets are hard ir impossible to lock even in biresight mode...some tests would be usefull for that... one advantage of the f18 radar compared to others is the ability to slew the radar in lock mode and it will find and lock any target within the beam and up to the max radar range...
