Alpen on the new Theater the RED AD's and I mean all of them do not engage enemy at any altitude. Buks will point their arrows on the enemy (very late reaction) and won't fire. Strelas won't fire. Instead every mig on the planet is again locked by the friendly SAMs. ex. I was 70km SW of maykop attacking a FARP when all of sudden I was locked. No BRA on me nothing. Just to open tacview and watch a F-86 crusing above base attacking both AWACS taking them down. Have no clue was is wrong but I only see this repeat on your server.

Remove all your mods etc and Go to the bin folder of dcs and Rshift + Rmouse, select Open in CMD or PowerShell window , then type "DCS_updater.exe cleanup" or if on Powershell "./DCS_updater.exe cleanup" This should clean up all additional files from the mods. U can run a repair after that just to make sure.

Alpen, The AD's over RED airfield do not engage enemy fighters. Instead the hard lock every mig on the planet except the enemy. F-5's doing circuits over a "heavily defended AB" firing AIM9's on Migs on the ground.. Sometimes a strela may fire but no the ones close to the airfield. Please check it out is frustrating. Have no clue if it is a game bug or editors fault. You simply should not be able to hover over AB's like that at any altitude..Thnx

The question is since you have radar with search and track options why you don't support it with a radar guided missile :P Btw its normal to have hard time to detect targets with all the clutter you looking into. Try to fly high and below your targets, It works fine. 10 miles for a F-5E type era adversary is quite a good distance to find, track and lock.

The only returns I ever got at this ranges are from big targets and well above the horizon.

The avionics suite would be for HMS use or missile uncage. If a Su-25T can carry them using Bore sight mode, why a 21Bis wouldn't?
