Bump Anyone? I'd really love this scheme.

The variant we have is, essentially, the pinnacle of the Harrier's capabilities. Even the +s with radar were reported by pilots to be less accurate with bombs than the NA. Our variant can use JDAMs, but RAZBAM is, as we speak, coding the INS, without which the JDAMs can't guide. I'm also waiting on the JDAMs. They would completely round out the Harrier's weapons capability and allow attacks on targets without having visual contact, such as through an overcast.

I understand the reasoning for A-A first, and I'm not complaining, but my personal opinion is that we need guided A-G ASAP. My reasoning is that we have flyable air superiority fighters for REDFOR and BLUFOR already. We also have CAS for both sides, interceptors, etc. However, we don't have any true flyable strike aircraft yet for either side. Sure, you could use an A-10, Harrier, or Mirage as a Strike aircraft, but that's not what they were designed for. The Hornet had Strike as a part of its requirements from day one, as a true multirole aircraft. I enjoy A-A, but the F-15s can handle that. There's no aircraft yet in sim that can put significant guided munitions on a ground target, and have the speed to defend itself, with the range capable of going deep into enemy territory. Again, I'm not complaining, and I'm having a blast in the Hornet with A-A and limited A-G, but I'm chomping at the bit to get my hands on some guided mud-moving munitions.

+1 Would be a nice feature to simulate an area during wartime or a conflict.

I'm hoping someone can do some skins for this squadron. It's the squadron Jay Stout was in in his book, Hornets Over Kuwait. I'm hoping, preferably, for CAG and line schemes. I'd love to fly around the Persian Gulf in this skin!! Edit: I'm adding some pictures I've found online Lt.Col. A.S. "Scotty" Dudley was VMFA-451's CO during their time in Desert Storm.
-
Much appreciated!! I'm looking forward to these skins the most!!

Thanks for these skins!! I just finished installing them and will be trying them out later today. Any plans to do the CAG and/or line birds?

Ok, so it's AMRAAMs with the forward position. I have the switch mapped to my CMS on my Warthog, but my question is how would real world Horbet pilots select a Sparrow if the forward position is for AMRAAMs? I always try to keep my mapping as close to real world as possible, so if the actual switch on the stick doesn't move left of right, I won't map it to do that on my Warthog. I'm funny about realism like that ;) So, how would a real pilot select Sparrows in a real Hornet? Thanks!!

Hey guys. Googling around like I typically do after a module release, I found diagrams of the Hornet's RW HOTAS layout. The Weapons Select Switch on the stick is three-positioned, Forward, Aft, and Down (like a button). Forward is Sparrow Select, Aft is Gun Select, and Down is Sidewinder Select. My question is if Forward selects Sparrows, and the switch is only three-positioned, how are you supposed to select AMRAAMs? Thanks!!

Ooh, those sound like some great times. Especially watching F-4's. There's nothing quite like the earth-shattering roar of two J-79s in afterburner.

I'm eagerly awaiting these birds too, as well as the CAG and Line birds. VFA-204 is my local squadron as well, but I live closer to Baton Rouge. I talked to a few VFA-204 pilots at the Belle Chasse airshow last year, and they were super nice guys!!

Thanks!! Exactly what I was looking for. I'm reading now!!

Hey guys. I just bought the Viggen a few days ago in the flash sale. I am absolutely loving it!! I do have some questions about controls, though. What do the three buttons on the throttle do? The manual explains everything on the stick, but doesn't explain anything on the throttle. For that matter, what does the trigger on the radar stick do? And finally, what is the command for the Autopilot Disconnect button on the stick? I can't find it anywhere? Thanks!!

The AIM-54 could only be launched by the F-14. No other platform was equipped to shoot it.

Thanks, Jack. My apologies.

Heatblur is, of course, doing the Tomcat, and Razbam is doing the MiG-23MLA.

Hi Jack. I've had some errors getting your skins to work. I've posted screenshots of the folder locations I have put the skins, as well as in-game screenshots of what's happening when I select them. Basically, I get the Ragin' Bulls skin, but with duplicate bort numbers on the vertical tail. Any idea what's causing this? Thanks!!

There are a few things, such as police lights (the red and blue) as well as civilian human models that don't (yet?) exist in the ME. That being said, I'd imagine ED would be hesitant, at least, to create a mission that involved civilians intentionally being killed, even if it's not by the player. That would most likely have to be a mission you would have to create for yourself. I'm no employee of ED, but logically speaking, to me, that seems like something they wouldn't do.

I'm also missing the hospitals as well as things like jeeps, ambulances, and other ground vehicles. -
I only fly high-fidelity aircraft, but I wouldn't mind seeing more low-fidelity aircraft. However, I do have one concern; As seen in the past, no FC3 aircraft have been brought up or developed to high fidelity due to many reasons, not the least of which is the inability to access the technology for some FC3 aircraft. My concern is that ED would develop a FC4 aircraft that they had the ability to model in high fidelity. If that were the case, I would want them to develop two versions, a FC4 version, and a high-fidelity version, and that simply does not seem reasonable. I would hope that they follow the most logical course of action, which, to me, would be to only model FC4 aircraft that cannot be modeled in high-fidelity due to security restrictions and/or available data. That way, an aircraft that has the potential of being high fidelity won't be, for lack of a better word, "wasted" on a simplified aircraft. Just my two cents.

I would love to see a VMFA-451 Warlords paintcheme. It was the squadron Jay A. Stout was in during ODS in his book, Hornets Over Kuwait. The book was a great read, and I'm on my third time through it now.

I've been having a similar problem. I can get BALT to work, but not HSEL. Post a track. It's the most helpful.

No problems here either.

PG got released about 4am EDT. I know because I'm in Louisiana, in CDT, and I was able to download it at around 3am.
