  1. Hi, Is there any way that I can use my laptop to run a multimonitor config using A-10C or KA-50 or FC2? Its a HP Compaq nx9420 laptop with WinXP pro 32bit, Intel Centrino Duo 2.00Ghz, 2 GB Ram, ATI X1600 Mobility Randeon 256 Mb, 100GB HDD. I bought it 4 years ago and flew FC1 a lot with it, and lately I decided to have it right next to me while flying so I can use it like a kneeboard viewing the manual or any other docs :book:. But I was wondering if there is any software or any configuration that can be done to view instrumentation on it (CDU, ADI, MFDs etc etc). I know its not powerful enough to handle A-10C or Ka-50 of FC2.0 (besides I'm gonna need to buy another serial to use those there as well so that is a no go:doh:). So, is there any way that I can use... well, its monitor at least, to view any gauges?
  2. I hope they fix the flickering on TGP and Mav with SLI on. That's probably my only concern.
  3. I don't see it either. I'm using a GTX295 with Multigpu (SLI) on the latest 266.58 drivers. Check your settings in nvidia control panel. If the problem persist, instead of taking a screenshot, record it with fraps. It will show on the recording.
  4. GRRRR :pilotfly: If its not the next after DCSW then I'll wait... it will be done some time later. Lets say I have some "unfinished business" with the Mujahideen outside Jalalabad in Afghanistan :gun_rifle: I used to play the DI's HIND a lot back in the 90's
  5. Thats a proper intelligence there. Its a process done months and even years before that attack. Sending in spies, agents and using superior technology to gather enough intel, so that they could strike and destroy all primary and secondary targets using minimum resources and with 100% accuracy and with 0% loses. Thats how real operations are executed.
  6. Anyhow.. Even if CE3 or CE4 or CE10 manage to accomplish what Henchman14 dreams about, they'll never be as realistic as DCS for one simple reason: DCS is the commercial product of the PC-based military simulator trainer (DTS). All the data the TFC/ED dev team are gathering to produce DCS and DTS are from military contracts and they are as accurate as they can be. In other words they don't produce anything on pure imagination or wet dreams:P And THAT is the reason DCS will NEVER be boring. ED is the first combat flight simulator producer company that actually uses REAL data from REAL aircraft to produce commercial military flight sims with almost unlimited access. I find the TFCSE engine quite satisfying at the moment and its going to get even better in the next module. As CE evolves, so will TFCSE.
  7. A question slightly off topic - How did you overclock your CPU from 2.6 to 4.5? I have the same CPU and my knowledge on overclocking is at minimum. I plan to buy the Corsair H70 CPU cooler to keep temps on a minimum. All my other specs are below in my sig. BTW I'm getting a stable 60-70 fps and near high object areas (cities and airbases) around 20 to 30 fps (almost everything is on high settings at 1600x1050 res). Did you use any software or did you use the BIOS to overclock? Also, how long does it take to overclock a CPU?
  8. Do you have any other mods installed? If you have they might be "clashing" with each other.
  9. 100 km2? Is that it? DCS terrain is the entire Georgia, the entire Krasnodar region (which now in A-10C includes the entire Ossetia and Abkhazia regions. And thats just the areas with 3D objects. The actual map is 3-4 times larger which includes the ENTIRE Black Sea region (Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, Russia, Georgia and even a small part of Iran). And all that..... Is small for us flight simmers. To fly and fight realistically with any fighter aircraft you need the map to be at least TWICE as large. The current PC hardware and software market is not capable of delivering that kind of detail in such a large part of the globe. Also the current DCS (A-10C module) is not even a true multicore software. I followed your other thread that you said its going to take a decade more or less to get there. I'm 24 now and it looks like I'm gonna be at least 40+ when thats going to happen.:bored:
  10. IMO its not about usage.. Its the systems each aircraft uses that gives restrictions.
  11. This is a great screenshot.
  12. I bet my money on the Hind :joystick::P
  13. Exactly! Some peeps just won't get it how much complicated this software is.
  14. Use the search function and join others with this kind of debate in other threads, only to realize that cool graphics and shiny explosions are NOT what makes the sim so wonderfully unique, but I agree with you regarding AI, although they are working on it immensely to improve it. As others said above... you haven't explored fully the possibilities of the sim. Try the campaigns and single missions, also there are great mods and custom missions that help a lot with realism. Try online too.. thats where the real honey is.
  15. I do recommend X-52pro. But I don't use the MFD. BTW, keep in mind that X-52pro has a triple mode profiler that you can change anytime by turning a knob on the HOTAS. This allows you to configure the HOTAS for 3 different modes depending on the situation you're in (e.g. cruise, landing, combat) And there is a good (not perfect though) software profiler that allows you to configure X-52pro immensely.

    Manchuria WIP

Video's too long.. youtube did not accept it  Can you upload it somewhere (mediafire or rapidshare)?
  17. They are probably waiting for a larger sum of orders so that they can cover the expenses of production.
  18. 106. Out of ammunition (including guns) and deciding to go kamikaze on the nearest enemy.
  19. After the latest patch I didn't have any... yet. Hopefully I won't. It runs very smoothly on medium-high settings.
  20. I read somewhere that the kinetic energy of each round is equal to 10 bowling balls?
  21. I hope they make a DCS Su-33 to see the actual performance of that fighter because FC2 doesn't do just to it.
  22. 65. Birdstrike 66. Using a cordless Joystick and after 5 minutes it gets disabled to save battery life if you don't use it at all, thus the throttle position changes to full power automatically and off you go into somewhere while looking at your instruments. Actually you can prevent anything from happening if you press any key on the joystick to enable it again... but you're sooo screwed if you are parked or taxiing on carrier
  23. I have the X-52pro for a year and a half and have no big issues. Only a wee-bit of "stiffness" when I move the joystick around but that won't bother me too much. Still I'm going to sell it (as it is in a great condition) as soon as I get my hands on TMWarthog.
  24. To females? IMO most would blush :P but what do I know, I come from a very conservative society.
  25. Now they started spamming us with porn. Thank goodness most of us are males :)
