Does anyone know when save game feature is coming?
Czar replied to goot66's topic in DCS Core Wish List
What is the advantage of resuming a 2+h mission the next day opposed to playing 40min to 1h mission fully in one sitting? Wouldn't that throw you off from the mission flow: radio frequencies, weapon settings, fuel management, overall progress, given that DCS doesn't have a game hud (thankfully) like modern games? There are also ways to pause DCS and make it draw very little power from the GPU while the PC waits for you to get back, today. GPU control panel max fps when the application is on the background. Put it on 30 or less. Pause the Mission. Minimize DCS. -
I've been experiencing this constantly on this map only. FPS drop and GPU goes to 100% triggered by altitude after take off climb. On the ground before take off the fps is smooth and constant, locked at 40fps here for consistency at any scenario, but once after the first climb anything bellow 1k ft or so the gpu goes 100% and severe input lag ensues. No other map this occurs. Syria, Persian Gulf, Marianas (which is much heavier above cities and forests), Caucasus. The FPS are fine and GPU load is consistent to the scene. Quick video to show. The forest on the left is not a factor. This problem occurs anywhere. The curious thing is that before take off, and on the first climb, everything is fine. This problem didn't occur on an empty mission I've made. I'll keep testing and any update I'll edit here. EDIT: With further testing, I could not reproduce this on an empty mission. The mission displayed above where the issue appears was a mission made through Briefing Room for DCS to let anyone know. Perhaps some script is messing with this map or some unit. I don't know the cause.

DCS World 2024 Screenshots and Video Thread

I risked it and got the map before any review. I made a recording of my first flight in the map. Looks amazing, tbh... I'm impressed by it, enhanced by the fact I've actively avoided getting this map from its well documented issues. Felt fantastic, no hiccups (the pauses are mostly for screenshots, too many to remove in editing and some were missed), no visual issues. Highly immersive from what I've felt. Flight path: Rio Grande -> Parque Nacional Alberto Agostini -> Rio Gallegos.

Authorization failed after latest patch
Czar replied to RyanFlint's topic in Flaming Cliffs Bugs & Problems
ED is aware. -
@YoYo Can the FC3 pack file path be different than the current modules so that's causing authentication issues? 1-Manually delete the FC3 folder under DCS World/Mods/aircraft if there is any thing like that. 2-Reinstall the Flamming Cliffs aircraft under the new format. Maybe the reason are where the files are now located and the authenticator is denying authentication. My FC3/2024 planes were always on separated folders under Mods/aircraft. Might be worth a look. If you guys have a FC3 folder contained inside 'aircraft' folder, containing all the FC3 content, that might be the issue. I don't know for sure if that's the case.

solved J-11 is no more available for FC3 users.
Czar replied to LordOrion's topic in Flaming Cliffs Bugs & Problems
If you had the issue with the FC3 authorization, the J-11 is part of the Su-27 Module, so it might have been affected along with the Su-27. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/shop/modules/su-27_flaming_cliffs/ -

Can you confirm the correct country was selected? Either China or Red Coalition Forces. I'm currently downloading a map and I'll confirm asap and post here. If it is not listed, means the country is incorrect or the mission date if 'historical setting' is enabled rather than not able to control it. If it is a problem if it is grey on the list. -
Yeah, it is very likely a bug on EDs end. Different authorization files don't make sense because mine are good, the only difference is that I purchased the aircraft one by one and not via the FC3 pack.
-
Root folder ....DCS World\bin\DCS_updater.exe Just execute it and it will take you to the launcher.
-
Thank you. The solution >>might<< be on the new launcher everyone is bypassing. If it is not there, ED need to fix it on the back end for the ones affected ASAP.
-
Any chance is on this path within the new launcher instead of the in game module manager as FC3 package was discontinued? Individual purchase of the planes are working normally.
-
-
Might be an issue with the FC3 package as I own the planes with separated purchases throughout the years and haven't had this issue. My 15C, MiG-29, Su-27 and 33 are activated. Does the module manager on your end see the individual aircraft on the 'available' tab? (the one where you prompt it to install.)

So, as the update got released, what's the verdict?

Will Afghanistan-Specific Factions be added?
Czar replied to Punkmonkey22's topic in DCS: Afghanistan
This is more akin to an RPG than to military operations. I believe Goetsch was referring to the base "sides" the mission begins with. Currently DCS only supports 1V1 + 1 neutral. The neutral is useless for combat and only serves for traffic intended to not be attacked by anyone. In real war scenarios this is different, example being the last Syrian civil war. DCS should support more sides/coalitions/teams than Red vs Blue. -
What an utterly dishonest reply. You already know how useless is a bad reaction to something no one has control over.

Where does it say it is fundamentally prohibited for multiple unforeseen results in software development in 24h?

ED doesn't announce a date because of the risk of delay: People complain ED announce a date regardless of the risk of delay: People complain when there is a delay ED announces rough estimates close by with the disclaimer 'everything is subject to change': People still complain when there is a delay They only care about getting something that doesn't exist yet. The patch wasn't ready. That's the bottom line. Make expectations after the patch is uploaded and the patch notes are published. It is much better for your health, ...like some folks really cares about it right...? Here I am waiting for the Kola and South Atlantic updates to go live and be reviewed in order to pay->download->play them. Waiting for weeks now. Better ED to take their time. Imagine if there was a AAA publisher behind this and all we get is broken patches with 1 month fixed date no matter what QA says. There are examples all over.

Exclude the whole DCS root folder from your AV.
-
The more the merrier, but I rather fully embrace the analog gods and go back in time with the variants instead of forwards. Digital MFDs feels... distant. But early cold war, man... is an entirely different kind of flying....altogether! Cool footage and material from OP, though. I won't kid myself, it would be nice to have those too, regardless.

Make an exclusion for the DCS root folder on your AV(s) -> Repair DCS -> Log in.

I gave it a go with the F-15E with the fix mod a few days ago on the heaviest scenario I have and noticed no performance impact. It was performing just like before afaik. I didn't know it 'could' have any performance impact before reading through this thread. Thank you for Budgie creator for giving the bird back its....life, basically.
