Yet Another Track IR stuttering when panning thread
Czar replied to wolfitoXtreme's topic in Game Performance Bugs
Highly depends on the method to take the readings. See the website I linked for. The method you took was maybe with averaged values. I yanked it hard to get the maximum of 145hz. Usually it read on the 100s to 110s hz. Either way I don't think it is the mouse. -
Yet Another Track IR stuttering when panning thread

I have the same mouse as a backup stored in a closet . I tested it in DCS a while ago, it is flawless. It is a very smooth mouse over a proper surface. Some sites says it has a polling rate of just 125hz. https://www.flipkart.com/logitech-m90-corded-mouse-wired-ambidextrous-optical-gaming/p/itm9f5e3227d7082 It is actually sealed in a box, the previous one I gave it to someone else: I opened it up and tested on this site : https://cpstest.org/polling-rate-test/ I gave me a max of just 145hz of polling rate while moving it around. It might be not too helpful as I run a setup at 40 fps locked for personal reason but I ran your P-51 track and found zero stutter when your POV moved around. I wanted to share because I recorded it and uploaded it at a good quality for you to see and compare. Another person can quickly confirm if your track is smooth at high refresh rates. Something seems to be related to rendering on your PC instead of input. -
Weather system overhaul with better clouds. (I know it won't happen, I'm just a bit tired by the current one).

Will the CH Infantry pack be added to the core?
Czar replied to Tom P's topic in Currenthill Asset Packs
[I deleted my own comment not to derail the thread.] I'll happy to see more life into units especially ground units any day in DCS. I consider a bit too lean at the moment especially for flying helis. -

I think it was just the wording, my bad. "The rendering is dependent on the machine that replays the track." No? -
Yet Another Track IR stuttering when panning thread
Czar replied to wolfitoXtreme's topic in Game Performance Bugs
The word is not "rendered" for that. His PC is 100% rendering the scene. Some of the simulation however is not being calculated when repaying a track. 100% agree. If it is happening on shooters as OP pointed out, something off is going on in OPs side. Those are GPU heavy games right? I know RDR2 well, idk about LotF. Have you overclocked your CPU or RAM...or GPU? If so, undo it all and try DCS again. -

I agree with this. Either way, here is a SU25T track with looking around. Low Flying SU25T.trk -

Seems something on your computer because all mouse today are smooth.... ..curious. I'll cook something for you in that regard. Edit: ah, Art-J already done it. Will do one regardless. -
Why do planes always take off and land on only one side of the runway?
Czar replied to Somu's topic in General Bugs
To add to razor+r post above. Remember the wind settings are layered in 4 while only the bottom and the top 2 are editable. If the airport is high enough, the second or third layer above the sea level wind speed will affect it instead. They often point at different directions by the mission maker or weather templates. Keep in mind that on Syria's and Jordan inland airports in the Syria map. They are higher than they look to be. -
For the counterparts, in due time when there are 2 or 3 more redfor planes out, it is just a matter of time as ED already stated their interests of making more after the 29. (I know time is a precious thing) Plenty of WWII stuff coming. Two big weights are being developed by ED, the Mitsubishi Zero and the Hellcat. I'd like a Kawasaki and a Nakajima there on the list too but, oh well. I'm not 100% certain but I think it will sell like hot cakes instead.

Sublime, if it wasn't for the post's age... (2y = 2 years ago?) Visor for the 14 will be a day of celebration for me.

These effects are made with 2D sprites. Their axis are locked with the rendering POV (player's camera), or you would see even weirder things like cardboard effect. The alternative is full volumetric effects on everything like the clouds are. But a number of people would maybe lose VR capability as it would become more expensive. Like this: No. It can never go away. It is the rendering characteristics. If you felt that it went away it is because you didn't face it for a while. Let's also remember ED is not MS in size.

An option to turn off ground clutter that pops in really conspicuously
Czar replied to Lixma 06's topic in DCS Core Wish List
I agree. As it is currently implemented it would cost massively in performance as there is no grass and bushes impostors as I've seen on my DCS. They are always 3D. I have that setting cranked to maximum for years now. Still bothers me greatly. -
I'm still not convinced you can't unpark your cores. Have a look at that first. Cap your frame rate to something bellow what you're getting average as last resort.

Found problems in the last .miz you shared. At least with 1 blue flight. Remove the CAP tasking. Make only 1 or 2 waypoints and set the AI to orbit. Here you have 1 through 6. On the end of this path you have a "switch to waypoint 2" command, which would make it perform an orbir in theory, yes. On the other red flights you don't have the CAP tasking. Does them still peel off after reaching the end of their waypoints? Have a go with the orbit style above. Orbit on wp 1, racetrack pattern.
-
Have you set them to orbit somewhere near? "Search and engage in zone" does not govern their flight regime. Only engagement. Anything outside is ignored, while inside the zone they need to have positive detection by the AI.

=== Log opened UTC 2025-11-16 14:26:08 2025-11-16 14:26:08.082 WARNING EDCORE (Main): hypervisor is active 2025-11-16 14:26:08.082 WARNING EDCORE (Main): CPU HAS PARKED LOGICAL CORES (this can be source of stuttering and reduced performance especially on hybrid CPUs with P/E-cores) Hi, Pluton. Unpark your cores to see if the issue goes away. This is a good source, but there are others around the web. Once and done thing: Max pointed out at "Hypervisor". I get the same warning but no periodical stutters here. Just the parked cores warning I don't have on my logs because I did the procedure on the video above.

This is "Scenery Details Factor". Put it at maximum or 0.8 minimum. LOD switch slider is for something else. Scenery Details also blurs the textures when the scenery assets are reduced in quality. If changing SDF value does't fix it. Something in the map code is making this. Seems severely too close the LOD changes, indeed. This seems regardless of system. It is not typical for DCS to do this at that close of range. Even in 2014. Looks like a bug if all gfx options are set correctly.

I beg for more vegetation impostors from ED into DCS. 2D sprites to be exact. I think Cyberpunk 2077 have a just perfect solution to draw vehicles at distance. They are just impostors as in 2D sprites that has some snapshots at some angles. I saw in a random video. Zoomed out, nobody notices they are just sprites. This could be helpful to dramatically increase the low vegetation clutter draw distance. It would mean the world for Heli flying. PS: I know forests in DCS already has impostors implemented. Idk about the low vegetation (grass bushes etc). -
Welcome to DCS. Buy storage. Enjoy your stay. (it is worth it)

Understood. Also that could be read as in: ''better get that feature developed already if one day we get a _____...''

Stuff like this comes with the module development itself, not earlier for nothing to actually use. There is a lot more improvements to be done on the weather front, including sea states that are impactful to all modules.
