This event would not have been a success without the contribution of 104th and 51st to hosting and refereeing, thanks guys! Thanks to every single player who took part in this, we really hope you guys had fun and also learned a few things about the art of dogfighting. And last but not least, congrats to the winners, Stuge and Razer! After winning the Top Gun event twice back to back, I think it is safe to say that you are the best when it comes to BFM and this statement will stand until someone proves it wrong :thumbup:

Where are your squadron buddies Sweep (Pyro..Doktor....Gabriel.. Etc) they ve kind of vanished from the competition scene.

Thanks everyone, it was a great gathering of people and the organization from TAW was top notch. Special thanks to Dutch, SkyCap, OverG, Frostie, Teknetinium and Riptide for some great refereeing. Once again, we had many people who signed up but did not turn up and many did not even bother to let us know. This is a regrettable attitude, we all know this is a game and RL will.always prevail but remembering that these events require loads of work and preparation from people who invest a lot of time into this deserve at the very least a proper cancellation notification from participants who had to drop out. Aside from that, we had a great time meeting with many friendly people and looking forward to the 2v2 action next week. Congratulations to Stuge for his first successful title defense. Congrats also to Plaiskool for his second final back to back Congratulations to every pilot who flew and fought bravely in the TG arena.

Rules say aircraft spawn at same alt and same speed, it has never been mentioned that one must keep level flight all the way to the merge. The only purpose is to make people start on same amount of kinetic energy (speed) and potential energy (altitude) but then once the round kicked off one could maneuver freely as long as he is heading for the merge.

Guys, as mentioned before do not update to the last version, it has just come out and has not been tested yet. Now the Flanker seems to be as fragile as a butterfly, which will of course need to be addressed. Let's stick to the same model as the one used in Top Gun 2 by the time they release a more accurate update. Despite the dubious S key, it worked in Top Gun 2 and did not seem to affect the competititiveness of the Eagle. Please stick to the same 'release' version that was there before the last update.

The merge is mandatory and that's where one must go once the mission is unpaused. Stalling will be heavily penalized and may cost you the round if your opponent complains about it. You can run away to build separation before recommiting if things go south, that's a valid tactic, you can spiral up and play full energy tactics that's also valid. The boundaries of the bubble are there anyway to force one to turn back. Stalling means extending away repeatedly and just avoiding the fight. The referee will review the track if needed and may overrule the result in case of stalling. Let's just not mix up stalling with defensive BFM.

The ranking system is getting some more love: we have just added the new Season Rankings for 2016 for both air-to-air and air-to-ground! These rankings are taking into account points earned from January 2016 to December 2016 only and will serve to determine the top players of the current season at the end of the year. Unlike the year-round overall rankings, which at any given moment ranks players according to points earned during the immediate past 12 months, these Season Rankings will be reset every first of January. These new rankings will give those who have not been active over the last months a fresh start and a chance to shine in the 2016 season, which has just kicked off in February with the Red Flag 4 event followed by Joint Warrior 5 and lately Red Flag 5. The Race for the 2016 crown will continue this Saturday with the next competition: Top Gun 3! Although outnumbered more than 2 to 1, the Aggressor pilots were head and shoulders above their opponents. The lion's share of this performance went to PlaiskooL with 5 kills followed by Stuge with 3 kills. A full breakdown of this event will of course be posted as usual once the claiming period is over. Un revenant! Welcome back Thrust :) ----------------------------------- Guys, regarding the M2000, nobody is expecting its flight model to be perfect but in its current state it does seem to be out of the ballpark so as much as we like this aircraft we have decided to let it mature a bit more before including it in a competition like Top Gun. A heads up about the mission will be posted soon.
