  1. Almost any video game can be approached competitively, really nothing wrong with that. It's a sport...e-sport, plain and simple. This community has unfortunately always been plagued with unnecessary sensitivity when it comes to online competition, thinking that people want to show off or something, I have never understood why. Fortunately though, there are a lot of folks down here with the right attitude, who fight tooth and nail yet know how say good kill when outclassed, it is because of players like this that we are still alive and kicking to this day.
  2. Dear GG, I think I will refrain from replying to you as I honestly think it's useless. I've really got used to your kind of replies, it has always the same taste (I know better and whatever you say is irrelevant kind of answers). No hard feelings though.
  3. This alone would be a game changer. I concur although It shouldn't keep on flying with total impunity in the first place :) or at least limit the amount of G one could pull when heavy loaded using a Cat selector (not sure if there is one in the Eagle).
  4. It's up to the devs to decide about the urgency of this, we can only point out and chit chat. What I personally see is one pilot focusing 100% on fighting a bandit that is splitting focus between fighting own machine and fighting back.
  5. Guys, wings ripping off when heavy loaded will also kill you or at least force you to bail out. Being killed by the enemy is not the only way to lose in DCS. Because what I see is people arguing that overloading the F-15 wouldn't give any significant kinematic or maneuvering advantage anyway. The actual point is that in an Su-27 you can break your airframe if you stress it past a certain Red line, which is completely absent in the F-15 currently. In a nutshell: all flying objects are subject to the same laws of physics so that heavy F-15 should auto destruct when pulling 14G or whatever amount deemed accurate by the devs, rather than getting away with it.
  6. It's quite simple, one aircraft has G force induced structural damage implemented while the other does not. I don't think it needs a debate. 40 or 14G, they're both unrealistic figures. The first has been addressed, the second hasn't. Lets be honest, flying a Flanker is overall many times more challenging than flying the F-15. The Eagles flight model is much more forgiving, has better weapons, better radar, better avionics. This is not a rant, this is a fact.
  7. The Flanker issues with Direct Control are history and everyone is glad it has been sorted out. Also, nobody said overload in the F-15 is as severe as it was for the Flanker. Nonetheless, it is exploitable to some degree, especially in BFM so it needs attention.
  8. That's what was meant in my post, the in game Eagle pulls way too many G's without suffering the consequences like the Flanker does, hence it needs a urgent update in this regard. I think your love for the F-15 makes you often rush your answers a bit whenever she's pointed out.
  9. With the latest updates, I think it's safe to say that the Su-27 is much closer to a fully fledged DCS module than the F-15. If the Eagle is able to sustain higher G force (yet to be proven), then it shouldn't be able to do it repeatedly with total impunity so the least that needs to be done is to make it suffer structural damage if abused repeatedly and/or past a certain limit.
  10. This one has got to be exciting! ( thinking specifically about carrier operations) i hope they will update the whole carrier landing dynamics, not only the 33's flight model.
  11. Euro roster will build up, it's a matter of time. WW2 community in DCS is still relatively small. I'm working on a campaign tracker that will hopefully promote this a bit more.
  12. The R-77 is game is currently a joke to be honest. I'd rather use that speedy ER. Out off all the dcs A2A missiles, the Adder is the one that bleeds energy the most, it's deceleration once the engine is off is ridiculous to say the least.
  13. Firing upward and switching PRF along the way helped me a bit with the R-27. It seems to me that the radar does not change PRF automatically in STT or when there is an M-link.
  14. Plus, RWR may well get the active homing signal before 6nm but needs time to process it, hence the small lag in giving the warning sound. No hard fact to prove it but I've come across litterature backing this matter before and purposely or not, it could well be in game implemented. Another limitation to how RWR works, aside from the 30degree limit when banked, is the behaviour at high altitudes or rather when the launcher/target difference in altitude is too great. In these cases, rwr gives very late to no warning because of the steep approach of the missile and I think the same principle applies here, I.e, signal gets outside of the rwr's detection cone. Lofting the missile is another contributing factor.
  15. No sure about the F-15 but in the case of the Su-27, you banked past the SPO-15 detection limit, which is, IIRC, 30 deg.
  16. This is an Allied vs Axis type WW2 dynamic campaign made of several rounds with plenty of exciting features and immersive gameplay. It runs every Saturday at 9PM Eastern Standard Time for the North American division. We are looking at starting another division for those interested but unable to participate because of timezone constraints. You just need to post what times would work best for you on a Saturday and we'll take it from there. The maiden battle took place last Saturday and Axis forces were able to gain a slight advantage over the Allied forces (See Full Report Here). The war has just begun and the next battle is expected to take place on this Saturday. Although stats are being tracked and performances counting towards the player rankings, you are welcome to join us regardless of your experience provided you can fly either a P-51, a Bf-109 or a Fw-190. This campaign has a lot of features and possibilities in terms of gameplay, please read more about it here  To sign up, you’d need to post the following: – Callsign – Nationality (for ranking purposes) – Squadron Name (put lonewolf if not affiliated with a team) – Aircraft – Your time zone

  18. Welcome to DCS! The F-15C in DCS is part of the Flaming Cliffs series. All FC aircraft do not have a clickable cockpit (at least not yet) but most of them have an advanced flight model and a 6 DOF cockpit. The Su-27 in particular has a challenging flight model that will require much practice to get proficient with. There are other modules with clickable cockpits outside FC but if you're interested in the F-15C only then I'd recommend patience as it may well get that in the future. All FC aircraft have been steadily updated an the next stop should be a clickable cockpit. There is a lot to learn in an air superiority fighter like the Eagle beside flipping virtual switches so your plate will be full for a long time :)
  19. R-77 + R-27ET + R-73... No SARH though but hey, why bother when you can go active!
  20. it's on the brochures but there is no evidence of Flankers carrying such armement. Same goes for other missiles such as the R27EA, R-37....etc This is what Flankers carried over Syria recently, if not mistaken, I see 4x R-27R (ER?) + 2x R-73...
  21. This is more than a tool, it has become a MUST! Ten years down and many more full-of-success to come.
  22. It's always been about killing AND surviving the engagement; A kill means nothing if you got shot down; it's actually better to get back home in one piece with zero kills than not coming back at all but of course this is easier said than done. Bottom line is that it takes a great deal of mental strength and discipline to overcome greediness and stay cool-headed under pressure and PvP in DCS is no exception.
  23. Nice fight (0:29) but any reason you both kept pressing until you mutually killed each other?
  24. Blaze's piece of advice is valuable no doubt but I have to agree that it was not conveyed in an appropriate way. Starting against AI is not a bad idea in my opinion, this is good to get a good grasp of how the avionics work etc. The transition to MP will be trickier for sure but I think it is better to know how to operate the systems first before going PvP rather than not. I'm sure a lot of people have gone down the same road, I have as well.
