  1. The scoring page has been updated to reflect logs from the finals between Red and Blue. It seems like that final fight was very close with 55 points difference only on the scoreboard, which is worth one fighter aircraft roughly; neither side seemed able to dominate the air battle with both sides snatching a few kills here and there then Blue started to take the upper hand after 2 brilliant A2A kills from 104th_knight followed shortly by =RvE=Dackster who went on the rampage as he scored 6 ground kills in addition to an air kill from his A-10C. The tides seemed to have definitively turned in favor of team Blue at that point, however and in a heroic push led by an unstoppable F99th_Sweeper, Omny and Wizard, the ground pounding gurus, went to work scoring enough points to level the scores; the coup de grace was delivered by TurboRUSH with a final air kill that allowed team Red to snatch victory. That one was in my opinion the most exciting final to watch in the Joint Warrior series! Scoring-wise: I will wait til tomorrow night before closing the claiming section so that I can award ranking points for JW5, so if anything please post on SA forum. Iam under the impression that there are loads of potential kill shares to claim from respective pilots and thats worth 25 points each! Thanks to everyone involved: organizers and participants and despite a few bumps down the road, this has been another successful PvP event and looking forward to seeing you all in the next one! S! Scoring page: http://sa-sim.com/joint-warrior-5-after-action-report/ Claiming forum: http://www.sa-sim.com/wp-content/forums/viewforum.php?f=39&sid=e14386dc056f0fe8f9217e5e4181f81b EDIT: gap went up now after a kill claim from Frostie on Skycap who was not visible on Tacview.
  2. No idea if this is an intentional modelling or not or if its realistic or not, the only thing I know is that it does work in game and it will increase the tracking capability of a SARH. Many times the missile lost track mid flight but as soon as I change PRF it reacquires the target and steers back towards it. The hard part was that t I had to remember in which PRF mode I was as its not displayed in STT. I'd guess the radar should be capable of doing this automatically in STT at least for modern radars...Maybe this is not the case for the now very aging Flanker B's radar.
  3. It does matter. I've tested it myself many times. I was putting the target in STT head on from HI before firing. As soon as the target starts turning away I switched to ILV then moved to MED once the angle off reached 90deg. I noticed it helped the missile to stay on track. The only trick is that PRF is not displayed while in STT so you must keep track of what mode is on and remember the right order when going through them. Being in STT does not mean the radar is actually tracking the target but when you see the trail of the missile steering back toward the target you know it is. All the aforementioned is from a Flaming Cliffs perspective only and whether this is accurate or not for real stuff is a different discussion.
  4. The radar is in pain in a tail chase, not sure if Croncat was using MED PRF there, that would have helped to some extent. @SinusoidDelta: your track is hardly comparable to Croncat's; That sparrow was tracking but the target was defending aggressively (chaff+ high G rolling scissors) and the missile got spoofed legitimately IMO.
  5. Nice work! A little caution though as it tends (a bit) to encourage low flying. I know it's easier to scan with the radar when flying low but that denies potential energy. I'd prefer to increase my workload with the radar if it's going to keep my energy status high.
  6. It's out: http://sa-sim.com/joint-warrior-5-after-action-report/ If anything inaccurate, please let me know here: http://www.sa-sim.com/wp-content/forums/viewforum.php?f=39
  7. Ive gone through all logs now and have replied to those who posted claims on SA forum. Also reminding everyone else to check own flights and see if there is anything worth claiming like kill shares or maneuver kills and if so head over the SA forum and start own topic in the Claiming/Reporting section. Claiming wont be possible once all the results have been posted so take the time now to review own flight and let me know if anything. Results and standings from the prelims will be posted tomorrow!
  8. Beautiful flying from Plaiskool in the Red vs Green match as he pulled off an amazing double kill vs two bandits..very smart faking Sparrows to hit with the Sidewinders from that range...I bet he dropped the lock straight away after firing those 2 AIM-7s then sent 2 Sidewinders off the rails. First time I see such tactics from an F-15! Well done Plaiskool! (35mn into Tacview) Im half way through Red vs Green (Blue v Orange already finished) so results wont take long to be released!
  9. Red vs Green is already over, they played last Saturday...this Saturday is the finals.
  10. Gents, apologies for the delay in publishing the prelim results, I will do asap.
  11. They count up til the moment when Frostie called it off. Your kill on Stratos is already in the system. Ill post that tomorrow Monday. A few events may slip under the radar if not picked by the logs from the server or Tacview so those will need to be reported by the player himself on the reporting section of the SA forum.
  12. Hello guys Kindly post any discrepancy, claim...etc here: http://www.sa-sim.com/wp-content/forums/viewforum.php?f=39&sid=1a7cccd75f1d184f7520defe3324ae8c Claiming and Reporting Each participant must review own run on the server-generated Tacview, which is posted by the server admin after the end of each battle and claim or report related events that would not be part of the server/Tacview logs; all claims must be posted within 48 hours after the publication of the server Tacview. (1) Maneuver kill: You have fired on someone and he crashed while attempting to evade your missiles or you are involved in a dogfight and your opponent crashes in the middle of it. You can claim it here whilst specifying who was involved, at what time in Tacview and a description of the situation. (2) Assist / Kill share:two or more pilots can share the same kill if they were all involved in destroying the target. Involved means having fired on the same target before it got hit and missiles were close enough. Missile from the second pilot must impact the target within 10 seconds if the target was destroyed after the initial hit. There is no time limit if the target was still able to fly after the first hit. (3) Reporting an oversight:While we try to be as accurate as possible with the results, oversights can happen, so this is why we try to involve you the pilots. Anything odd or unclear, you can also post there. Instead of posting on the same thread, each pilot must start own topic and I will take it from there. Thank you guys for posting these matters over there as it is easier for me to track everything from there and also to keep this thread uncluttered and in line with the ED forum rules.
  13. Thank you gentlemen, very nice to have the 159th in the house! If more willing to join do not hesitate, the squadron quota doesn't apply anymore now.
  14. Hey Stugey, did you check with people for Sunday same timing? I think the only JW pilots here are TurboRUSH and Sweeper and iirc they are also free on Sunday so if the Russians can do it you guys can run that this Sunday?
  15. We will.do our best to make it take off time so TS meeting is at 17:30Z. 57th are confirmed out, they can't make it this Saturday so thats 7 free slots in team Green for anybody interested.
  16. Thanks to those who voted for when the final battle should be held. We received 35 votes breaking down as below (People who posted all 3 options are not included): Option 1 (Sat, March 5th 1600z) --------> 11 votes (X-man, Rage, Teknetinium, Holimoli, Martini, Petritis, TaliG, Scooby, Mav, Frogman, Vassilis) Option 2 (Sunday, March 6th 1800z)------>5 votes (Jinx, Jester, DanielNL, IronMike, Knight) Option 3 (saturday , March 12th 1800z)----->19 votes (Jinx, Jester, Stinky, Omny, Wizard, Flame, Jamison, Spetz, Kunz, Leonski, Maverick, RedcoreSix, Petritis, TaliG, Scooby, Mav, Frogman, Vassilis, Dackster) This means no final battle will be held this weekend and it will be moved to Saturday , March 12th 1800z Reminder: This Saturday (March 5th) we will have Green vs Red on the 104th at 1800z. The 57th (Green team) are uncertain (they got in touch via PM), so we will most likely have many open spaces for anyone interested in joining the fight.
  17. More people should vote so we can go with the majority. Squadron members all need to vote. A decision will be taken within the next 12 hours.
  18. Wow great initiative Flame! To those who don't know RvE, they were one of the very best Squadrons back in FC days. Having won many international sponsored competitions like the Fortis dogfight cup, the name RvE became synonymous with excellence especially in the BFM department, which was their trademark. Really nice to see RvE back, Flame, this will make the PvP scene even more exciting and.....challenging. Please pass your RvE power on to the new recruits and I hope you'll try to get in touch with the old guys as well (Paploo, Yoda, Foxter, AS....) S!
  19. Hi Vyrtuoz. Not sure if this has already been asked for but would it be possible to add "has ejected" to the logs as part of the wishlist? Thanks in advance.
  20. Yes they are, to clarify this: We are tracking two things: Team scores and Pilot scores Team scores will determine which team won the battle and advance to the final - These will be reset. Pilot scores will determine MVPs and convert to ranking points - These will be carried over (kills and losses) as we dont want to strip people of hardly earned kills before the battle came to a halt.
  21. Guys, remember you can post more than one option with the top one being your preferred option and the additional picks would mean you'd still be able to make it. We will have to go with the majority so more flexibility will help gather more people.
  22. Red, Green and Blue :) It has been decided to start the Green vs Red match over on server 1 this time (104th server) next week same day same time (Saturday March 5th at 1800z or 1600z depending on the below). Therefore, the final battle will have to be moved to either: 30mn after the end of the Red vs Green match on Saturday (in this case Red vs Green will be moved to 1600z instead of 1800z. Sunday March 6th at 1600z. Saturday 12th of March at 1800z Please post which options are possible for you; you can post one, two or all 3 options from the above: We will go with the majority. Remember gents, the options above are for the FINAL MATCH only. Green vs Red has always been decided to run on Saturday March 5th either at 1600z or 1800z depending on how the votes will go.
  23. It would but wouldn't two matches back to back be too much (6 hours flying + 1 hour set up)... That's why I made it 1600z on Sunday to finish earlier. With that being said if they can fly 2 battles in a row, then thats even better.
  24. First off, thanks to all who showed up tonight! In the first prelim and despite a solid resistance from team Orange, team Blue have had the last word and have advanced now to the final match. Detailed scoring will follow as usual. Unfortunately, the other prelim match between Red and Green on server 2 had to be prematurely stopped due to server-side technical problems as many of the participants disconnected and could not rejoin. It has been decided to start this match over on server 1 this time (104th server) next week same day same time (Saturday March 5th at 1800z). Therefore, the final battle will have to be moved to either: 30mn after the end of the Red vs Green match on Saturday (in this case Red vs Green will be moved to 1600z instead of 1800z. Sunday March 6th at 1600z. Saturday 12th of March at 1800z Let us know what you are up to and we will go with the majority. PS: Although the Red vs Green match will start over, kills achieved before the server stopped will count for respective pilots.
  25. Thanks guys. Ocelot, I assume you just forgot to mention SF as your squadron. If so please edit your sign up. Roster updated.
