  1. Alright guys, here is the roster for GM4! I have tried to keep people from the same squadron together and thanks to the flexibility of most contestants, it was possible to achieve that. All contestants will receive a PM shortly to which you're invited to respond asap so that I can send you to Hook for the briefing etc.
  2. Thank you guys for stepping up to the plate, registration is now officially closed. I will post the roster shortly and we will take it from there. O>
  3. Guys, today is the last qualification session on Burning Skies - it will probably run until 00:00Z depending on when Eekz will make a final snapshot of the stats. For those competing for a GM4 slot, please remember to post your application in this thread.

  5. PILOT APPLICATION Pilot applications can now be submitted using the following format: AVAILABLE SLOTS Will be granted based on the results from Burning Skies' A2A Pilot Stats on February 11th, 2017 We will operate a Reserve list in case somebody pulls out, so post your application even if you have not made it into the top 12 during the qualification round. - 4 X Spitfire LF Mk. IX - 2 X P-51D Mustang - 4 X Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst - 2 X Fw 190 D-9 Dora - PILOT CALLSIGN (as it appears on Burning Skies Pilot Stats Webpage) - PILOT NATIONALITY - PILOT LOCATION (country and city) - SQUADRON NAME (Put Lonewolf if not affiliated to any) - SQUADRON WEBSITE (If applicable) - WARBIRDS I OWN AND CAN PROFICIENTLY FLY (in order of preference - make sure you include all WWII modules that you own and can fly because we have limited slots so if your number one choice is overbooked, we could grant you your second choice - if you can't fly another module beside your first choice, then we will move to the next person who can)
  6. I'm looking at the A2A stats regularly and indeed, I do remember seeing you at the second place with 10 kills and 35mn of flight time but now it shows 6 kills and still 35mn of flight time. It may only be a small hiccup that eekz will be able to fix straight away. This stats project is a huge undertaking and eekz is continually improving and polishing it.
  7. Qualification stage for the Spitfire/P-51 VS Me109/Fw190 Grudge Match is also underway and will run until February 10. Best scorers will be invited to fly in GM4 on February 18th for a chance to win a copy of the upcoming Normandy map provided by Eagle Dynamics. For more info, read here: http://sa-sim.com/luftwaffe-royal-air-force-square-off-in-a-grudge-match/ Thanks to eekz for providing such a great WW2 PvP server and best of luck to all aspirant pilots!
  8. Thanks, Turbo! you're such a class act, sir. You may want to give it a go, I suspect not everyone will be available to fly on that Saturday so with a bit if luck, you may well snatch a seat. Either way, I'll see you on D-Day!
  9. The Grudge Match Series is coming back for another epic battle in DCS World! This time around, Hook will take you to the heart of a 6v6 epic aerial battle that will oppose the recently released Spitfire backed by the P-51 Mustang to Luftwaffe’s dreaded Me109 and Fw190. This epic match will take place in the Caucasus map but will celebrate the upcoming release of the eagerly awaited Normandy map for DCS World as each member of the winning team will walk away with a free copy of this amazing Terrain, generously provided by DCS creators, Eagle Dynamics! We are very proud to have Eagle Dynamics on board as an official sponsor and we will do our very best to provide our viewers with an action-packed showdown on Saturday, February 18th from 1900z live on Twitch! As in the previous Grudge Match, both teams will be sharing one common target area so the main task for all contestants will be to attack enemy assets while protecting friendly ground troops. 10. Chapeau, Mr Vyrtuoz! this is what I call a milestone, bravo!
  11. Actual final score was 60 to 30 in favor of Team Fishbed. Official After Action Report here: http://sa-sim.com/gm3-after-action-report/ Congratulations to grunf for winning GM3's Score Betting competition and one AJS37 Viggen DCS Module! We have received over 80 bets and here is Top 20. Thanks again to all who took part in this:thumbup:
  12. Likewise, feel free to think whatever you like if it helps gilding the pill for you.
  13. As said before, follow the procedure if you want to make claims whether it had been mentioned before or not. If it doesn't matter, then why don't you spare yourself the headache and get over a bad result. We don't always win. Be happy that your teammates did good enough to offset your poor performance and allowed you to get a prize. And yes, it's up to me to validate the results once the claiming period is over. You've got a shot at it, if you don't care, then let go.
  14. We had an MVP community voting in GM2. This time around, we decided to do a betting contest. Anyway, community voting wont affect scoring - it is as you said, intangible and subjective. We can only score what can be measured but people can vote for whoever they want.
  15. AAR updates: - Respawning fouls all removed for everyone (exception for this match because of Viggen) - Multirole scoring added. - Battefacts added. 20 hours left before claiming period is over, if you want to claim anything, post a thread here: http://www.sa-sim.com/wp-content/forums/viewforum.php?f=39
  16. You should of understood by now that this is not the place to make claims. This forum has rules and one of them says 'No MP disputes'. I have clearly mentioned that all claims must be posted on SA forum only. Yes, Tacview is prone to errors sometimes and lot of things could go under the radar, hence why there is a claiming period before results are confirmed. Please read again and follow the procedures. It will be easier for you and for everyone else. Copy paste your post in a new thread HERE, then I shall have a look at it.
  17. Until then, I'm going to disregard your statement then :) Overall, Tek was MVP no doubt, but SA rankings comes in two flavors, A2A and A2G. After this event, I feel more and more that a Multirole rankings is needed. It would come into play only for events where players fly multirole aircraft and are tasked with taking out both air and land targets. This way whatever is scored by the player will decide mvp without the need to separate air kills from ground kills. Easy to implement, I just need to give it a more thorough thought as don't want to clutter the rankings system, we already have nation and squadron based rankings for both A2A and A2G.
  18. If u mean scoring is wrong because of invalid respawns counting as fouls, then you must have skipped what I said 2 posts above. If you mean there is something else, then you can make a claim as instructed. Until then, Tacview says you scored 2 points and got wrecked 3 times, which means fouls or not your score will remain below nil so no ranking points.
  19. Final score will be the one from AAR once claiming period for contestants is over.
  20. People are usually HOTAS anyways and workload kept to a strict minimum when things get hairy. Advanced avionics may even help with more advanced features and capabilities sometimes. @Turbo: thanks mate, it seems I wasnt aware Hook allowed it( I think because refueling rearming the Viggen has not been fully tested yet) I will lift those fouls asap.
  21. AAR for GM3 is out! http://sa-sim.com/gm3-after-action-report/ Claiming will run for 2 days after which, scores will stand and rankings will update. Thanks.
  22. AAR for GM3 is out! http://sa-sim.com/gm3-after-action-report/ Claiming will run for 2 days after which, scores will stand and rankings will update. Thanks.
  23. It's a DCS Rankings not FC3. You can check our Past Events Page, you'll see many DCS modules have already been featured. http://sa-sim.com/dcs-past-battles/ Moreover, SA Rankings is always based on last 12 months so a lot of 'old' FC-based events are now irrelevant rankings wise. Besides, I dont personally believe that the box makes the pilot, rather the other way around. A good stick will be good, FC level or DCS level, we try to reward pilot proficiency in A2A and A2G not switch-flipping and button-pressing skills :p and we are testing that through a variety of DCS modules anways.
  24. Track IR, hardcore vs simplified systems...etc may affect things a bit but that, alone, won't win competitions. No issues though , wording depends on mindset, you have the right to dislike how it comes across but this is how we see competition in DCS and would like to foster it. Thanks for your feedback.
