  1. Could you be so kind and share your Radeon settings ? I have received yesterday 6800XT Asus Strix LC and thought I could compare it with RTX 3080. So first I tested 3080 using your methodology in same benchmark with same in-game settings. GPU only had increased power limit to 110 %, Temperature limit and memory speed by 400 Mhz. So it was a bit overclocked. Result was this: Than I swapped to Radeon. First I wiped drivers with DDU, than installed newest Adrenalin. I did not fiddle much in GPU driver and Adrenalin, switched only those three options Morphological Anti-Aliasing - OFF (i.e, "Disabled"). "Surface Format Optimization" - OFF (i.e, "Disabled"). "Tessellation" - change from "AMD Optimised" to "Override Application Settings" then set at 16x as user recommended in another thread: I also presume that Radeon Image Sharpening for VR is not beneficial for FPS at all ? I also set it as user recommended but can remove it. This is the result of same situation test: So GPU delivered slightly fewer FPS but also had lower frametime. Max clock I have observed was 2412 Mhz, which is quite a bit less than this GPU can actually reach. Also GPU did not hold its clocks and I saw drops. I'm not proficient in Adrenalin at all so having your settings used for Reverbg G2 testing would help me a lot
  2. That would be correct. Submitted fix did not make it in previous update and we're waiting for it to be released next time hopefully.
  3. At this moment no. New damage models are not part of SDK yet, so we have no means of implementing them. But once we will get closer to release I will have more information on that.
  4. Sorry Hunter but we dont provide time frames like that anymore, if this year taught us something, its that anything can happen and rescheduling would be a let down. It will be ready when it will be ready. But I can tell you that its closer than further to release now
  5. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year guys ! http://leatherneck-sim.com/2020/12/22/christmas-update/ I hope you will like this one
  6. Thanks Luc, although Im not sure MSAA and SSAA are viable considering I play DCS in VR only. But if performance allows I will try MSAA x2 at least.
  7. Also, are there any settings in particular that you would recommend using in Radeon software for the DCS ? I know Nvidia control panel but not Radeon software, so if there is anything useful I'd like to take advantage of that
  8. Yeah, I know of DDU. Thank you. Its actually useful when you try to fix other issues with GPU.
  9. So I have a question vaguely related to the main idea of the topic but perhaps one that can be answered by those who have Radeon. I have Rtx 3080 TUF, but managed to buy 6800XT Asus LC Strix. I am genuinely curious about its performance in DCS but also how Radeon looks like after few years (my last amd gpu was Fury Nitro by Sapphire). And to see if change of hardware and software will cure stutters. Are there any steps of removing nvidia drivers and remainder of the software and installing AMD drivers ? I know that in the past a fairly thorough cleanup of registry was advised.
  10. I'm writing it right now. Its a Christmas update so ... expect it around Christmas
  11. So, continuing on the topic, I went further tonight and try watching second after second how processes use system resources and what may be observed. And guess what, there is something to it: As you can basically see, under normal operation DCS process accounts for over 85 % of compute power of GPU. However, as stutters appear two other processes display unusually high % of resources taken - namely VR Compositor and VR Server. Normally they are using very little of GPU, 2 - 3 % and 5 - 6 %. But for unknown to me reason, when stutters appear they can both account for more than 60 % of resources drawn from GPU, leaving little for DCS. So I would investigate root cause between those two processes. What is also interesting is that sometimes simple alt + tab and back will remove the issue and get FPS back to 70 - 80.
  12. It's not his hardware but mine and I tried. It doesnt help. And Csgo is right.
  13. Did some tests. I think it might be VRAM issue there, where its reaching limit. On Caucasus, Nevada and Persian Gulf performance was fine and I saw no stutters. Normandy, Channel and Syria of course were stutter festival.
  14. So I did all you said guys and no improvement there. But I think I know where the issue may be. If you watch this video (and I tried it in couple other scenarios like this) its rather obvious that stutters correspond with memory usage. In Caucasus situation while VRAM is in 90 % use, RAM is far less than that. Syria or any other heavy scenario (be it multiplayer mission packed with scripts and units or campaign) just maxes both. I cant say honestly whether this is due to VRAM limit or RAM limit, but in my opinion this is not coincidence. So question is whether any of the recent updates changed something with memory usage (save for yesterday one, this one might have actually improved situation on some maps) to increase it. As I said, I had no performance issues of this nature EVER before end of Nov / Dec. Perhaps some memory leak appears or something.
  15. Than we can try asking ED for a hotfix. No worries, if its not there we will keep trying.
  16. Yeah, we could not confirm if its in the patch or not so I hope thats it. Thats what causing delay
  17. That should not be needed. My GPU is rather underutilized and problem is in those random drops rather than permanent lack of boost. Outside of framerate drops I can sit around 50 - 60 FPS which is far above 45 FPS threshold.
  18. I will try those. However as said before, I did not necessarily change anything that should make things different. C and following drives are in the same status they were before. I also check their "health" with CrystalDiskInfo. As for drive load, well, what can I say. All that is my work files. Hence why I have games on D and E. Other two are for storage only. Guess I will have to buy myself larger storage and ssd soon
  19. Since early December I started having an issue effectively running my flying days in form of randomly occurring framerate drop along with pink stutter festival (pink lines on FPS VR indicate sttuter). This is noticeable furthemore by the number of dropped frames which in a matter of minutes can go up to 10.000+ Entire situation starts and ends randomly. However my observations lead me to believe that most commonly it happens when I get into close combat with enemy aircraft, but not always. I honestly tried reinstalling steamVR, Mixed Reality Portal, deleting fxo and metashaders, changing ingame settings. Nothing helps. I can fly for 15 minutes in formation with other Mustangs online, than I get into a combat and stutters start and than randomly end. Although I have noticed that sometimes alt+tab and quick window changes seem to bring FPS back and cure stutters. Again, no explanation. It happens both online and offline. I've tried to look for similarities but nothing close to that happens when I turn off VR and fly on monitor. I also did not observe similar behavior in other flight sims. The only changes since early December (i.e. before this happened) would be really a new Nvidia driver for 3080, DCS updates or some Microsoft updates for Windows. On hardware level nothing has changed. This is how it looks: https://youtu.be/ZuSgMuMHY8s https://youtu.be/vdZFbndgk_4 https://youtu.be/G8Q_HThW0Io dcs.log DxDiag.txt I attach ingame settings I use. SteamVR is set to default 100 %, no other changes were made.
  20. I dunno. I'm not sure you're really going to notice difference. It projection, not actually tested difference.
  21. It will be less accurate in terms of displayed ground clutter or clouds. For example there may be instances of low flight where radar will indicate target clear and you will struggle to lock since its actually flying in clutter area. So a couple attempts to lock will be needed or something. I mean its still a fairly primitive and limited radar so everything is within historical boundaries.
  22. Not that I'm aware of. And changelog will be updated when we will know more details about the patch.
  23. I hope so. We did not have any information this time as to when ED repository locks for this update so we don't know whether it will be in or not.
