  1. I'm almost more interested in watching this thread to see what you guys keep typing rather than the announcement... yeah, no.
  2. Right. I've got the face, you lot get the hair!!! ;) LOL
  3. Looking forward to giving these a try out, though a newbie with the Huey, I'd still like to give it a go. Thanks for sharing!
  4. Thanks. I'll wait some more then.
  5. I've been trying to begin to learn my way around the ME and have been into the Huey a lot lately. I've read how cargo and troop operations were broken a bit with the previous build and I was wondering if anyone has tried them out with the new build? I ask because I'm wanting to learn how to do this but only want to start if it is actually working. Thanks!
  6. Wish it had been that painless for me! I'm now down to only 2 activations when I've only done 3... Good thing LN will dish them out as we need them. Now I'm really bummed as all my saved profiles for my different modules don't seem to be able to be imported... unless I misunderstand how it's supposed to work, I thought saving your profile would allow you to import if you need to reinstall. Seems none of my previously saved ones will import now. :( Back to square one with my controllers settings then...
  7. There wasn't one that I know of. It was my own brilliant idea! :) I did all the suggestions but none worked for me and that's why I tried that. I just popped back on to say what DID fix my issue. I downloaded the Mig-21 module and installed and activated it. The game started up from the install screen and all was well with the world again! Thanks for putting up with my frustrated rant. :pilotfly:
  8. Wow, I was hoping to be spared this BS from an update but alas I'm not so lucky. I did the update and it installed just fine. I started the game and flew a mission in my current favorite ride, the Huey, and all was good. I then started a MiG-21 mission as I noticed the icon for that module was no longer a red one but some weird looking green one. Like others, I found myself in the nose of the plane with the game unresponsive. So I did the delete registry thing and then used the pcsml.exe file as directed. I then started the game again and still had the same problem. I decided to delete the module with the idea of installing it again. Now the stupid game won't even start for me! No matter if I click on the launcher or the DCS.exe file, nothing happens now... I've tried repairing and updating but nothing works at this point. Any ideas from you pros that have had to deal with this crap before? Thanks!
  9. LOL, okay, I understand. Wasn't thinking of it that way and I was trying to impose the least... :) Turns out my flash of realization was the problem! I figured it was something I did/hadn't done right... When I first started to tweak the mission I D/Led I was only planning on having MiGs and Sabres in it. Once I learned a little bit about the ME (and I mean very little!) I got all full of myself and thought I'd try and create something more extravagant (at least for my levels) and forgot about what I had initially done. Thanks again for your time and attempts to help. Off to go add some targets for my A-10C and Su-25! :joystick:
  10. Djent33, Thanks for the reply. Are you saying I should start over again or just try a 2nd mission to see if it works there? Eno, thanks also for the reply. I know people have plenty of other things to do rather than look at my mission, plus I want to learn what I need to do to make it work. Yes, I do have all the modules installed, just did a new OS and hardware install and had some trouble getting everything installed again but managed to sort it all out. I also tested that they were installed by opening up one of their canned missions and trying them out. So it's something I've mucked up as I'm trying to do a lot that is above my head. For example, I downloaded and used a mission as a base start that runs a MIST script (just trying to learn what the heck that is! lol) that spawns random flights from 3 airfields, which I've tweaked... (Light bulb goes off in his head!) I think I just realized the problem!! When I first started playing with/tweaking this downloaded mission, I was only having Migs and Sabres and early helos in it. I then got the idea to include all my modules so I have just one mission I can start to practice with. Sounded like a good idea, but if I did limit the available planes to early jets only... that would explain what this numbskull did last month when I first got started on this... off to go check. Thanks again guys for the responses and getting my brain into gear a bit.
  11. As I'm slowly learning my way around the basics of the ME I've created a mission where I can practice flying and attacking targets. I thought I'd be smart and build one mission (I've been putting a bunch of objects to liven up the airfields and provide targets for other planes/helos) and have all the modules I own in it so I can fly them all in one scenario. My question is this. I've created the mission and have successfully flown the MiG-21, Huey, and F-86, but when I try to fly the A-10C, or any Flaming Cliffs planes I'm just viewing another plane in the mission from the outside like I don't own the module. Is there a limit to the number of clients you can have in a SP mission? I don't really know what I've done differently with the planes I can fly and those I can't despite owning them all that I'm experimenting with. Any ideas what this dummy has done or failed to do? Thanks for any insight you can give this newbie builder.
  12. Are we there yet? Are we there yet? ;) Quite true. I remember reading about the projected future and dreams of FC after it was first released and watching things evolve since the 90s has been kind of fun. I just wish I wasn't so damn impatient for some of this stuff... :)
  13. Thank you so much for doing so! I'm really new to the ME and am learning my way about slowly and stumbled upon this thread and your post. I've wanted to do exactly this for so long now and hadn't a clue how... As you say, it should be so much easier to do just to delay a take off with an object already in game... thanks for the instructions as I tried it and it worked for my first attempt!
  14. Okay, I submitted a ticket and Matt gave me a quick reply. Unfortunately, the link that was provided (https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/faq/activation_wiki/) didn't help me with my issue of not being able to reinstall DCS World. So this is what I ended up doing. I went into my existing install and moved the "bin" folder to another place and tried to reinstall again. It worked! Then I followed the directions in the link that Matt gave me and it looks like my issues are all solved!
  15. I have a problem that I hope someone can help with. I have DCS installed on another HD from my OS. At the end of Jan. I had my OS get corrupted so I had to reinstall and wasn't able to deactivate modules. No big deal as I've only activated my modules once. Had to reactivate and no issues. Turns out my corrupted OS was due to hardware failing so I just upgraded the MB, CPU, memory, and video card. Again, I couldn't deactivate so I had to burn up some more activations. I tried to reinstall DCS this time and it won't let me install on top of itself as some module might not work. No problem, I didn't reinstall last time I reinstalled the OS and it worked fine so it should again. Nope. I got my Mig-21 and Huey to work, but CA, P-51, FC3, A-10c, BS2, all keep asking to be reactivated each time I start up a mission to fly the huey. What can I do to resolve this? Most modules show only 3-4 activations have been used so far... Thanks for any help you can give! :helpsmilie:
  16. Thank you both for your quick replies! I actually stumbled upon how to do it and came back to say so but you two beat me! Once I found the set trigger rules that got the whole ball rolling. mwd2, thanks for that youtube link, will check it out shortly. {FSF}Ian, thanks for that, I had to figure out that late activation check box. The helos would take off right away without that being checked. This is exciting, I'm actually learning a little about this ME monster! Thanks again guys.
  17. Hi All. I'm relatively new to DCS and brand spanking new to trying out the ME... I've created a couple of missions for myself to practice with but am now looking for a little way to juice things up. Not even having close to a clue I'm going to ask you experts here to not tell me how to do what I want to do but point in in the direction of where to look so I can read the pertinent info. Here's what I'm looking to do. It's pretty simple judging by what I read you guys are doing with this incredibly powerful ME. I'm currently flying a Huey and have a group of targets I want to practice on. I have 3 enemy transports at a pseudo base I created and would like to have them start their take off proceedure once I arrive in the area. I've tried to do this with playing with the time they spawn (trying to avoid diving head first into the much more complicated stuff) but would love to have them in the mission from the start and only start their engines once they know I'm coming on them. From what I've read in the manual and here on the forums after many searches, is that using a trigger is the way to go. Reading Snowtiger's ADDer thread makes me relate to how he feels very much! Though I already feel he could teach me a ton of things. So where in the manual/forum/web should I look for SIMPLE (read I'm a complete idiot with these things here) explanation of what I"m trying to do. After reading so many different things about this ME my head is spinning and ready to fall off... :( Thanks for any help you can give to this struggling newbie! :helpsmilie:
  18. Thanks for posting this! I just had to do an OS reinstall (no hardware changes at all!) and have gone through 4 activations in the past 5 days before I stumbled across this thread... Giving this suggestion a try and will see if it works. Thanks again!
  19. Wow! Nicely done. I have no clue about mission building. Well, I can add planes, vehicles, etc. but don't have a clue about triggers, scripting, and the like. It's awefully impressive to see how some do what they do with these tools. Hats off to you sir! Salute!
  20. Wow, this looks really good. I've downloaded it but will hold off until I learn a bit more about this new bird of mine. Quite a blast to fly and I really look forward to trying out your campaign (though not the F-15s!!)! Thanks for sharing. Salute!
  21. Hi guys, sorry for the late response and thanks for the quick replies. I now realize that I'm a complete idiot (I warned you I'm a newbie), though I did have some help. :) I somehow got it in my head, even though I should know better, that I have 6 IR (R-60s) and 2 Radar Missiles (forgot the ones I usually use). After launching my 2 radars and 4 IR missiles, I still see two missiles on my pylons from within the cockpit and externally, all the while forgetting that I have launched them all... So this is either the ASO (hoping I'm remembering it right) or a visual "bug" that shows an IR missile is left when there isn't one. So ignore the dumb question from the dumb newbie. These pics show what's left after firing all my missiles and why I thought I still had two more... You're right, Art-J, it's the visual glitch that I didn't know about.
  22. Okay, I have read the manual and have done the tutorials and watched a few YouTube videos but I'm still thick as a brick and can't figure out how to launch 2 missiles I have mounted on my outer most pylons. I like taking up, when going A2A, two radar missiles, and a center tank and the rest of the pylons are filled with IR missiles. I can launch the radar missiles from pylons 1 & 2 just fine. I can also launch the IR missiles on pylons 3 & 4 (all according to the plane's selectors) but the last two missiles I just can't figure out how to launch them. I've tried moving the selector to each position, even ones for the bombs and A2G missiles but no go. I'm sure I've missed something in the manual and tutorials. I've actually watched them at least twice, some 3x and I can't find the answer I'm looking for. It must be something obvious and simple, that's why I can't figure it out... :) Any help would greatly be appreciated! Thanks. :helpsmilie:
  23. Yes, these are great! Thanks for doing this and sharing them with us. I'd love to see you do more, like the MiG-21, F-86, UH-1H... ;) Thanks again! Salute!
  24. Late to the party in terms of conveying my thanks and best wishes for a new year gents! I also have to say that I'm very impressed with the MiG-21. I have been on hiatus for a couple of years from flight siming and just started to slowly try to get back into it. Saw the sale and haven't flown anything DCS in a loooooong time and said why not. Man, have I been hooked and impressed beyond my expectations!! Listening to the pod cast interview with you guys was just icing on the cake. I wish you gentlemen all the best and great success in this coming year. I know, when time and money permit, thatt I'll be supporting your future projects and will still be enjoying the heck out of this one. Like Dojo, I was never really that attracted to soviet aircraft of this generation, but boy... have my eyes been opened! Thanks again. Salute!
