And all was right with the world once again...

LOL Yeah, my boss (that would be me) decided to rearrange his schedule for Friday, it is now clear and a three day weekend will soon arrive!!! :pilotfly:

You guys rock!!:drunk::beer::love:

That was kind of Wags to give us that heads up and explanation. Hopefully it won't be a big deal to resolve and we'll have this puppy in our greedy little mitts real soon! :D

Huh!? Where did you read that? As far as I know, there is no set time/day for release yet. Just do a search on the forum for how to change your current install to an open beta one. I've seen the links around in various thereads so it will be easy to find.

Oh yeah! I'm doing my happy dance right now as I type... Good thing you can't see it...

How many modules are you REALLY proficient at?
Justificus replied to Pizzicato's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
How many? ZERO! I have most of them, except the trainers, but I don't consider myself proficient in any of them. Some I just down right stink in! Mainly because I haven't invested the time into learning them yet. Too many modules, so little time... -
Chuck's next DCS guide - What will it be?

Chuck's next DCS guide - What will it be?
Justificus replied to Charly_Owl's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Personally, because of all the other reasons mentioned by others, I would prefer that you not do the Su-25 but focus on the Mirage 2000. As you said, there's already plenty of info out there (true, not as nice as your guides), it's a simplified flight model, and the Mirage 2000 is just a much cooler plane to fly! ;) I mean, come on, Delta wing? How many of those do we have? But, seeing you're the one doing all the work and you share it for free, do what you would most enjoy! It's okay, really. -
:shocking: Wish I had spotted that before I spent all that time copying and pasting from the initial post... No, I don't feel stupid at all... really... nothing to see here... :pilotfly:

Wow, thanks for bumping this thread as I missed it before. This is cool! Unfortunately for me, I don't know what a lot of the templates are including solely based on the name due to my military ignorance. So I just made this little pdf to have on one of my other screens for reference when I am making/editing a mission: https://app.box.com/s/4yzkfqjx6yxyfe7qlpfh2q0jxiuz2a3m Hope someone else finds it useful.

That's exactly what I do. I append each version with info that lets me know what I'm doing with it or what plane(s)/helo(s) I want to fly in that mission. I tweak things until I get them just the way I like them. I usually end up with like a dozen or so versions of each mission that I've downloaded off the net. LOL Once I'm happy with what I have I usually whittle it down to 2-3 versions so I can tweak/adjust them in the future based on any updates that affect how they play out or just to change things up a bit. I've learned many many years ago that redundancy is a very good thing when it comes to computer data so certain directories I have being backed up automatically 1 hour after they have changed onto 2 separate HDs (one internal, one external) so I never have to worry about losing something I think I want to keep. Even if I delete something, my backups will keep copies for a month before they will mirror my deletions of important game files. ;) Cheap HDs are a godsend! My main gaming computer has 4 internal HDs and 3 external HDs attached to it at all times. 1 for the OS, 1 for important system/work/computer files/programs and backups of these things, 1 for games, 1 for game files and backups, and the externals are of backup of 3 of the 4 HDs and specific folders. I don't backup my game HDs as I have copies of all my games on media or on Steam. Sorry for the digression...

Thanks for this. Like Rivvern, I too am not into music when I fly. War and combat are serious business! ;) So I've always gotten into the habit of turning off music in the options as I find it too distracting, especially if it's something I really like! I've really been enjoying your mission and look forward to the final version so I can start to fill in the world with statics and other activity to bring the airfields to life- helps me with my immersion, not a slight against what you have done at all. I like to do this with all the missions I d/l for myself as a sp type of player. Thanks again for your work on this and sharing.

I just downloaded this mission and it looks very cool. I was only able to jump in and just spawned one group to check it out and make sure it ran. No problems and it looks very exciting about what you're doing. Nice job! I do have one question, and forgive me if the answer is already in my hands in terms of a readme (I'm at work and have no access to it and just thought I'd ask what came to mind after reading more of this thread), are you able to adjust what type of planes get spawned? Let's say that I want to create a pseudo-Korean era type mission, can I restrict the planes to Sabres and Fagots? Or go for a WWII type scenario and only have prop planes get spawned or helos and ground targets only? The latter one I think is already possible based on what groups you decide to spawn, but the others I'm curious about. Anyway, thanks for sharing this, especially with how many hours/days you devoted to this particular piece of work. S! sir.

Bay of Hogs, re-tailored for the Mi-8
Justificus replied to SFC Tako's topic in User Created Missions General
LOL Loved your little trailer. I haven't flown the Mi-8 much at all since buying it, been too invested in my Huey and Migs of late, but this will finally get me off my butt and finally learn her proper. Thanks for sharing! -
You think that's stupid. I downloaded the open beta and created a shortcut to it and tried to run it. Only got a black screen, no sound, no splash screen, just hanging on a black screen. So I decide to nuke it completely and just copy over my release version and then have that one update to the beta. Copied it over, tried to run it, same thing. Black screen. Came on here and searched. Didn't find anything relevant to my situation. Was about to post on the forum for help when this little dim light bulb went off in my head. Looked at the .exe my shortcut was pointing to in the openbeta folder and then compared it to my release version... Yup, dummy me pointed it to the DCS.exe and not the launcher.exe... Still feeling a bit stupid for that one... :D
