  5. Picked this up in the last sale and I must say I enjoy flying her very much! This is now my favorite module, second only to the Huey. Hey, I see a trend here! Well done and I'm sorry I waited so long to pick her up.

  7. mdw2, thanks for taking the time to explain further. With your help I now think I fully understand how this works. As for the naming convention, I thought the script itself needed a specific name to be used. Can you also use this with infantry in addition to vehicles or do you need a separate script for that to work with infantry? Thanks again for your help!
  8. Okay, after re-reading mwd2's comment a couple of more times I finally figured out what box he was talking about... see? I told you I was dense! ;) But I now have another question. Is it possible to have more than one ground vehicle group using this script and do you call them all "BTR1"? If not, what is the appropriate naming convention? Thanks!
  9. I'm also still trying to wrap my head around lua and scripting and all that goodness. Just found this thread and want to also understand- hope you don't mind me jumping in here like this... So if I understand this line of thought correctly, I should put this "mist.ground.patrol('BTR1', nil, 20)" in the box in the pic above that Beamrider42 posted above where he put the "Mist.lua" script line? Beamrider42, is that what you did to make it work? Off to go give this a try and see if I can add a minor tool to my toolbox. :detective_2: EDIT: Nope, not sure what to do here. Any clarification for the extremely dense would be greatly appreciated!
  10. Sir, thank you so much for taking the time to look at my mission. Also really glad to hear I didn't screw things up! I was starting to feel this stuff is just a bit beyond my "skillz"... lol Thanks again and I'll update my version of mist right now.
  11. Ok, I knew I wasn't the brightest bulb of the bunch but I didn't think I was this bad. Yes, I'm a newbie to the ME and lua stuff in general but have managed a few things so far... I've read the instructions a few times now and have edited and started over 3x and I am unable to get the planes to start their engines and take off. They don't even spawn with the loadouts I give them, though the skins will show up... Not sure what I've done wrong. The naming format is correct (I actually copied/pasted from the working demo mission included), they have fuel and weapons, I've got the airfields active and supplied, the trigger zones are set. I'm sure it's something obvious staring me in the face but I can't figure it out. I did edit the lua and know that the lua I'm using works as intended as I used it with a copy of the demo mission. I'm stumped. Anyone care to give a quick look at this mission I'm trying to create here with this? thanks for any info or tips/corrections you can give. S! Mig-15 F-86 GCICAP Test.miz

  13. Yeah, I have to say that the Huey is my favorite ride. Hard to believe that I had it for almost one year before I actually sat down to get into it... real life and all... but god am I hooked now! Wish I could say I am some hot sh!t pilot and all, but alas, I still suck compared to most people but I still have fun with it. I also bought the Mi-8 recently but have yet to dive into it to check it out much as I'm still too infatuated with my first love...
  14. Would love to take advantage of this sale so I could finally buy the last module I'm intersted in, the Mig-15. Unfortunately, I don't have the extra $30 to spend on "frivolous" purchases at the moment and will have to wait until the next one comes around... It sucks being mostly unemployed sometimes... lol
  15. Holy crap! I didn't even know I did that... Hmm, wondering if it was done with the mission I downloaded and used as a basis for learning... Either way, thank you so much for taking the time to look at it and hopefully you didn't waste as much time on it as I did! S!

  17. The weirdness continues... No matter what I do, I can't get this helo to show up as a flyable in this mission. So I tested if I was the culprit by adding it to other missions I've downloaded or created. No problem whatsoever! I've checked all my settings and they are all correct. I've deleted the helo, added it back in, I've tried other airfields and different country settings all to no avail. Can't understand what could be in this mission that prevents only this module from working! Truly perplexing. But I've spent too much time on this now and need to step away from my computer to keep my sanity! lol :pilotfly:

  19. Well, I just double checked and it has the right time just like my other modules but it won't show up as flyable in this mission... I'm at a total loss as to why. Everything is as it should be comparing to each and every other heli or plane I've put in, just doesn't make sense... :cry:

  21. Thanks for the reply, WC. I know the group is not set to late activation and I'm pretty sure the start time is also correct, but will double check that when I get home and can see. Will report back later. Thanks again!

I've recently just purchased the Mi-8 module and wanted to incorporate it into a multi-module practice mission I've made for myself where I have all my modules as clients and can just pick the one I'm in the mood to fly at that particular time to do a little practicing with. All my modules work fine when I do this except the Mi-8. I've added it to the mission, it's listed as a client. the module is activated and able to be flown in other missions I've downloaded, and it shows as being in bold yellow writing in the ME. When I select it at the beginning of the mission and it loads I'm in an outside view of an AI plane as if I don't have the module... Anyone know what is causing this? How I can fix it? It's really weird I can add any other module I have to the mission and fly it but juts not this one... it's really making me scratch my head and raises my frustration level a bit. Any help, ideas or tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

  24. Wow, this looks fantastic! I'm assuming that when you say "mandatory mods" that you mean the mission won't run properly without them? Either way, great job and thanks for sharing!
  25. Thanks for sharing this. I wouldn't have thought of doing this myself, it's a good idea! I haven't tried v.2 but v.1 was fun. Took me quite a while to finally form up but once I did I was able to hang with him until I got the expert rating on my first try. I'll have to try it some more to see if I was just lucky! ;)
