Well after having it "fixed" for awhile I just had the game crash on me again... and guess what, the problem is back! So I'm going to see if just deleting the Saved Games folder will fix it... this is very odd! EDIT: Yup! That did it!!! Textures are back to normal. And to think of all the time I wasted reinstalling, redownloading everything... if I had only tried this first...

Yes, I just added a train to my existing mission and it worked just fine! Just plopped down a train, added some cars to it, saved and it showed up just fine and was strafed to death by myself. :D Not sure why it's not working for you. DId you try adding train cars to the engine? If not, try that.

I've been working on a SP mission for myself and have a nice B-17 group that comes in and carpet bombs an area. I have 3 groups of fighters engage this group. The B-17s are defended with P-51s and Spits (4 each for 17 bombers) and before this patch the B-17s would get slaughtered, now, not a single German fighter survives! Those gunners are definitely helping to defend the B-17s... lol

Wiping everything out was the only way I was able to fix it on my machine. The only thing I can think of that made me get it was having the game crash on me and then it started to happen...

I deleted it to the Windows Recycling Bin, then restored it. When I restored it, I didn't overwrite any files but kept both copies. that's when I renamed the Options.lua file (newly created one) and restored the old one. I can switch back and forth if need be but things have been fine since doing this. Obviously something got corrupt during one of my crashes...

Hmmm, I've not seen that. For the heck of it. I tried deleting my Saved Games folder (previously, I only moved it to another location and then made a new one) and made a new one. Problem gone! Copied back the old folders but didn't overwrite anything, still good! bad news is that my FPS were much worse than before. I then used the old option.lua file and the FPS are back and problem is still gone! Not sure how long it will last but this is the longest it has lasted since it initially "broke" on me a few days ago... fingers crossed

Yeah, I've even gone as far as downloading the Alpha and all modules again to see if that by some odd chance may fix it. After several hours and 50+gb of downloading no change... can't seem to get rid of it now for some reason.

I've tried Spring, Summer and Fall. I figured out it was my video setting for my graphics card that was conflicting with the game's settings. Once I made nvidia go back to its' average settings for DCS, things started to work again, though the graphical texture issue is back...

Not that I was initially aware of. That's how I discovered it saving to another drive... I've since fixed the ME saving location but the Missions selection from the main screen continues to only point to this "F:" drive and I'd like it to go back to pointing to the C: folder like it used to.

Hi, yes, I understand this and obviously didn't explain myself very well. the game is no longer using the folder on my C: and now looks for Missions, for example, on my F: drive instead of the appropriate folder on my C: drive. Does that make sense?

While trying to trouble shoot a texture issue I suddenly started having a couple of days ago it seems I've messed up my install some. I've tried repairing and a clean install but the issue is still here. Somehow it started to access another drive on my system and writes to this drive for the "Saved Games" folder that is normally on your C drive under Users... Not really wanting to uninstall and reinstall/download many gb of data is there a file I can edit so that it will no longer look to this "F:" drive instead of my C: drive? Thanks for any help you can give!

Add Yeah, I saw that. Better to wait and have less bugs and therefore things for me to bitch about. ;) Seeing the older drivers weren't working I reinstalled the latest ones and the terrain is back the last 3x I checked! This is weird...:crazy: EDIT: The real kicker to all this is that after all this effort trying to resolve this texture issue, and it seems to be back to normal again for now..., is that all the things I"ve done have broken all the missions I've made and downloaded for Normandy... Hours of time wasted...At least NTTR is still good and I"ve staying with that for now as the frustration level is just too high ATM...

Yeah, I know many have nvidia cards, but I'm at the end of my rope trying to figure this one out and am trying anything. Just booted up and tried the test mission out and the textures are messed up again... so much for that brilliant idea! lol Here's hoping the update fixes it for us few...

After things were working well again I thought that was the end of it. Nope. I had played another game (GC3) and then had dinner and then fired up DCS again. Textures were all messed up once again... Now I'm not thinking it's DCS but nVidia. We both have their cards... So I downgraded my driver from 382.33s and 382.53s to 376.33s. textures were back! We'll see if they stay that way...

Well, for the heck of it I went into the nVidia control panel and selected DCS under the manage 3D settings. Clicked on restore to have it revert back to preload settings and it was back!!! I then changed Anisotropic filtering from 8x to 4X and the textures were all messed up again. Changed it back to 8x and no difference... clicked on restore again (only made it go from 8x to global setting 8x) and was still messed up... Thought I had figured it out, even though I hadn't changed any settings prior to this happening... EDIT: I go back into the game and start up the same mission and now the textures are back to normal! I really don't get this...

Very weird. I did all of the above steps again and now the terrain is back to normal! Not sure which step did it as I only tested at the very end not really expecting anything different this time around... Hopefully it won't pop up again!! EDIT: Spoke too soon, flew my test mission and it was back... Was gone the first time I flew it but now it's back. :( Would love to know what is causing this for me. Now NTTR is looking like crap, even the cockpit textures...

Check Check and check. Check. And as I said above, I've uninstalled both the NTTR and Normandy modules and reinstalled them. Things didn't start out this way, just happened out of the blue two days ago and has stayed this way ever since.
