  1. Yeah I do think Moza will get it right. Sounds like they've already done a lot with new profiles for the major DCS modules and tweaking that's been added. I went back and forth on going with the Rhino a the higher pricepoint etc. I am happy with my decision though. There is no doubt the Rhino is a top tier product from a build quality and materials perspective and the TelemFFB software was the biggest selling point. I do hope that guys like Moza and WinWing bring FFB into the mainstream finally with products that are much more afforadable! I think they will.
  2. Ok thanks!
  3. Volume is a tough one because it's going to be so different per rig etc...I have most of the sounds turned way down. It is a nice addition to the simpit along with SimHaptic no doubt. Would love to see a future update that allows customizing of sounds so the community can give us module specific profiles etc!
  4. What is this rel4y's mod? Is there anywhere I can read up on it? Will it work for the VPForce Rhino? Thanks
  5. I just received my Rhino a couple of weeks ago and I can't say enough good things about it! Makes every module in the sim feel so alive and unique! So much of a game changer that I'm making plans to convert my Thrustmaster TPR pedals to FFB later this year. Exciting that Moza, WinWing and others are coming into the game as that only means we will see more products and more FFB support! As to the amount of force the VPForce Rhino has more than enough force in it. I know there are others that are stronger but with the Rhino at full force it can absolutely wear you out. Also, as stated above the TelemFFB and it's customizations are where the magic happens! So much extra you gain from good Software!
  6. Thanks for sharing @Hawkeye60!
  7. Nothing but good things to say about my experience with the 7950X3D which I got the day it launched. The only thing I would say is rumor has it AMD may launch the new 9000X3D series chips in September...I would wait and see if that happens...
  8. OK so I got my issues with the F-4 solved by uninstalling and reinstalling the 2.8 stable version. One thing that seems to have changed is the engine/pinston rumble. Has anyone got this tuned well? It used to be a nice realistic feeling rumble. Now with the latest version I'm running it's just a constant unchanging signal that I pretty much have to turn off in any of the jets I've tried. Any suggestions?
  9. Ok thanks talked to another buddy who’s not having the issue either. Maybe I need to uninstall and reinstall. Something likely didn’t update correctly I’m thinking.
  10. So is the F-4 broken for everyone else with SimShaker? All my other modules(except the CH-47 which is expected since it just launched) are working fine but the F-4 gets error messages and doesn't work. Any tips to fix it if there is a fix? Or are we waiting for an update? Thanks
  11. Yeah I've been going back and forth on building it or just getting it made. I think there are about 50 people in front of me... I enjoy DIY project though. If there's no quality advantage to having it made for you it would be cool to build with the kit
  12. LOL Oh i get that but larger by itself doesn't mean it won't fit...didn't know if the case was designed to accommodate multiple sizes...
  13. Thanks, I actually am on their discord. I guess I was just misinformed. I had been told by another Rhino user that it would take the larger motors if you wanted to go that way with the build.
  14. Ok so why are there motor options on the VP Force page?
  15. Hey guys appreciate you doing this with the DIY options. I'm close to coming up in the build que and was weighing the pros and cons of building myself. If I wanted to buy the 450Euro kit and build my own can I sub in the more powerful motors? Is there anything else that would need to be added to do so? Or just buy the more powerful kit? Also which one does what? I see one for 439 Euros and one for 399 Euros....Thanks!
  16. Yes! The eventual ability to give hand signals to wingmen would be amazing!
  17. I agree this would be a great addition and take VR immersion to the next level!
  18. On the Aero, it is probably 15 deg less than the G2. The Crystal is probably an improvement of and additional 20 deg over the G2. Yeah I agree not my favorite idea. But with the addition of a second cable and QC3.0 charging block you get infinite battery life. One side benefit is the battery works really well as a counter weight.
  19. Understand that sentiment completely. I owned and quickly got rid of the 8K-X. I was not impressed that a couple of years ago and was very hesitant to get the Crystal. But, in the end decided to take the gamble because we need more than one company(Varjo) working on high end VR so that the competition helps us all. This time around Pimax has figured it out. I'm participating in the Beta and they have been incredibly responsive to suggestions and feedback. The build quality is very much improved and with the addition of two things(VR Pulleys, and the Studioform VR Ware Apache comfort Strap) it is honestly more comfortable than my previous headsets. Very happy with my decision to give it a try and I decided to sell my Aero that I loved for months after we got ET and DFR which really took the Crystal to the next level.
  20. The Achilles of the Aero is the Vertical FOV. It does take a bit to get used to. The Clarity and performance is amazing. If you are struggling with the Aero I would highly suggest you consider the Crystal. It gives you all the clarity of the Aero, a bit better colors, better blacks with the local dimming and much better Vertical FOV atm. There are wide FOV lenses coming in Oct that should give us an additional 15% of Horizontal FOV which will make the Crystal the clear choice with a Horizontal FOV of 118 deg or so. I've owned most of the top high end headsets and I would give the Crystal the edge as the current best simming headset with the Aero in 2nd place due to the performance and clarity. But I will say the huge advantage the Crystal has in Vertical FOV is something I don't ever think I could give up now.
  21. Well I've owned both and used both extensively. The first thing I'll say is you can't go wrong with either headset. They are both heads and tails above anything else. I am making observations from my own experience owning 10 different VR headsets and every expensive Consumer VR Headset made to date. VR Flight Sim Guy isn't really a DCS pilot. I know he does some flying in DCS but the majority of what he does is MSFS. I've used ET and DFR in the Crystal Beta for a while now and it surpasses the clarity of the Aero with more FOV and with the exact same performance FPS and smoothness wise I get in the Aero. And, we haven't received the Wide FOV Lenses yet which should give it a bit more of an edge. I'm running the Crystal at 300% Foveated area resolution and 5% peripheral and it is pretty much 4K level clarity. I still think the Aero is awesome and will be ordering a Aero 2 Day 1 if it comes with more FOV than PImax, if I haven't already gone to 12K because Pimax is getting it right this time around...
  22. This is good news all around. At $990 the Aero is a steal as it is the 2nd Best Headset on the market behind the Crystal IMO. They are obviously getting competition from Pimax and that will be good for everyone. Would love to see Varjo come out with an Aero V2 with more FOV.
  23. Interesting, never tried pulleys on the headset but I'm also not really bothered by the weight. I do highly recommend using VR pulleys on the cord and the Apache Comfort strap on the Crystal that is a game changer.
  24. I loved the Aero but I wanted more FOV. While atm the Crystal has about the same Horizontal FOV it has a much better Vertical FOV. It also has better colors and blacks with the selective dimming. If they nail the Wide FOV lenses that will be a big homerun.
  25. So I just made the switch from a Varjo Aero to a Pimax Crystal and the biggest issue for me was battery life. I think making this thing standalone was a very poor decision as the groups of people IMO that are willing to pay $1500 for a VR headset could care less about a standalone option. I tried a number of solutions and combinations before finally finding a solution that gives me pretty much Infinite flight time in DCS without having to worry about my battery drawing down. I made a guide which I'll post here and give you the amazon links so you don't have to waste time or money finding the right combo.
