Jo - Very cool. It is a J-Version, isn`t it?

What about MiG31 , AWACS E3 Sentry, Landing Ship for landing operations, a new C130 Hercules and the most naval ships . Best wishes, TOM

Well , I think it is a little bit critical: Krieger allready works on his MiG29 since a long time and I don`t want to thrust him or go into competition with him. I have a big big respect about his job he did so far. And so I think it couldn`t be a nice step to show my own "work in progress" pics. I don`t know ...

Hi, oh yes but you have to wait some weeks for it please. I started to rebuild the complete model because I made some mistakes and I will release a complete "round" mod. The new model should have around 80k polygons and will use complete new skins. I hope this story will come to a good end`. I`m very excited about it My very best wishes to England, Tom

Very cool- Great model! I rated that thread with 5 stars because I`m very interested about ship models:thumbup:

Hi, everybody still have his own philosophie- I respected it all alltimes. However: If you create a fuselage with 70k polygons, your options for damage model, markings , pilots and all the other things you need runs out. So when somebody create a model with all that things and has at the end a result about 100k polygons at all : he did a good job. But you still have to use tree or four LOD models as well. Otherwise you will hit the hardware or get a system chrash while flying with other fighters through the clouds or taxiing to runway. So back to precise3dmodeling : The Su35 model looks very cool and have arround 34k faces- That model is useable for DCS or LOMAC. Including damage model which somebody have to implement the count of faces should grow up to 80-100k. Thats okay. The Globemaster is outstanding! With arround 97k faces it could work in DCS but you have to use a lot of LOD`s too. So overall: It isn`t a mistake to hold the polycount down but we can go up to 100k or more while using a lot of LOD`s nowadays. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1240753#post1240753 My 2 cents and sorry for my grammar... best wishes, TOM -
Thank you very much, well - I think I should use following models for the next big mod: MiG29 F-15C KC10 and some little equipments just like Aim9 and so on. However - the following renderes are for another disscusion but I`m very proud of that workings so I will present some pics in here : Thanks for watching, TOM

Hi aaron, yes- youre right. The nose of my old F-15 model looks terrible. It is a good examble. I think my latest model looks a little bit better as the older ones ... This is an examble for a 60k faces model. Damage model plus weapons plus squadron markings in the result around 100k polygons. Works very well. I tryed the brandnew ED-F15 StrikeEagle. 280k faces per model so my frames scated down to frames per year ( a short battle: four Strike Eagles against four Eagles with shadows, fog, clouds, enemys , fired missiles) However: 100k should be good and okay- I agree  Very nice Hornet model - I like the canopy -looks great. My best wishes, TOM -
:worthy:oh mother- I never saw that fu... olegs so highly detailed! Absolut outstanding work you present here - great stoff :shocking:

Yeah johnX - Thats absolutely my philosophie. Well, today the main processors have a very good architecture and can handly a lot of informations in real-time. And the graphic-cards are very strong today- So if there enough RAM and data bus , models which have arround 100k faces and two or four 2048x2048 the most PC-systems will work with it without problems. Higher counted models should be used for renderings nowadays. In my intention ist it not a big deal to create models while using hundredthousands of polygons. The real artists are able to create very good looking models with a low numbers of polygons. And the old ED models are very very good- The Hornet still the Masterpiece... My very best wishes, TOM -
Hi, rainy weather today- So I had some time for my hobbys ... Here some WIP-pics- So not ready yet: Uploaded with ImageShack.us

I was able to insert my own 3d models into the dcs-engine- Ther engine is really fantastic:thumbup: Cheers, TOM -
Oh yes - A very beautiful Hornet+Cockpit. Many thanks for that interesting link- Thanks a lot. Okay-Back to topic:pilotfly: best wishes, TOM

Dear Beczl, absolutly great job- I love that MiG21 with that very nice cockpit. One question please: Is it possible to replace the stock F15-cockpit while using the MFD`s and HUDs by the F15 for a F-18 Hornet pit? Isit possible to update the position of the MFD`s and HUD? How I can do it? I could trye it for my F-18 model How ever: Very great job- Keep on it:thumbup: My best wishes, TOM

Hi, normally you should have 10 metres-quadrats: Uploaded with ImageShack.us Best wishes, TOM

Hi, yes- It works. But for Singleplayers only. Not for Multiplayers. I don`t know the reason. Sorry guys Tom

Fantastic Job! :notworthy::notworthy::notworthy:

Muharharharhaa :megalol: Great pic  About the cockpit-story: I world be very happy if it is possible to make the HUD and MFD`s useable. Not the menue and design-simply the stock MFD`s. So for examble- For a F-16 cockpit the F-15 radar MFD, The F-15 weapon control and the A-10 MFD for using Maverick and TGP`s. Its not the problem to build a cockpit and animate all the analog instruments but its not possible to reanimate the MFD`s and HUD`s ... is it? Best Greetings, TOM

TOMCATZ replied to Valery's topic in 3D Modeling for DCS World
sure guys, I`m a big fan of highly modeled planes but it allways have to useable in online games. So I think that a modern aircraft shape should not have over about 150.000 faces. So these models works very well with actually hardware and it is possible to add a lot of details. The models on following pics have arround 60.000 faces and works very fine together with hundreds of other jets: Uploaded with ImageShack.us But well- ED shows one more time the way into the future and hardware limits still are not an argument. -

@ Kuky - You`re damned right. I have exactly the same problems with the DCS F-15 and F-15e Eagles. They simply have to many Polygons : arround 280.000 per plane: thats much to heavy!
