  1. I think a zoom button like on a 2D monitor wouldn't go a miss for those who wanted to use it. I would love to be able to zoom in to view the CDU using the DK2, because without it I can't get close enough to it read what it says on the CDU. Has anybody managed to set something up that allows you to read the CDU in the A10C while using DK2? I use a snap view in the 2D monitor, but can the DK2 use a snap view to good effect?
  2. That's great to hear, but when are we going to get this fix? A hotfix for dK2 would be good, because we can't run missions in it's current state. Thanks!
  3. I just installed it because everything works with 0.7. However, it still won't fix the DCS crashes until ED release their update3. The update Wag talked about a few pages back, but that's yet to be released still.
  4. Okay, I'm back from doing a bit of testing. I found there isn't anything wrong with the cockpits size since all you have to do is lean forward a little in the Rift and hit the re-center key you have set for yourself in-game. My center key is number 5 by default. Doing this then places you further back in the Cockpit if you prefer. You can even adjust how you are sat by ducking your head slightly and hitting re-center key. I also tried snap views and they seem to work and even allow you to still look around in the Rift. This I think will come in real handy when wanting to look at the CDU. I'm going to check later to see if it's easy to press the CDU buttons once in snap view.
  5. So what about what PiedDroit said? Where you change it in the DCS config settings? Would that make a difference to the size of the cockpit? The BlackShark appears fine to be fine, but the A10C looks a bit on the small size.. Why is that?
  6. I'm just wondering if there is anyway to increase the size of your cockpit? I would like to do this so that the A10C cockpit appears larger in the Oculus Rift. I'm just wondering if there is anything in the config files that would change the size of the cockpit? Thanks!
  7. Maybe if they gave use the zoom function in the Rift it would make the cockpits appear larger? I'm thinking "Peter P neck mod" and the zoom function for the DK2. Either that or does anyone know if there is a Mod that can make the cockpits appear larger?
  8. Head tracking in the Rift = Zoom. You cant get close to the digital readings in the HUD even outside of the Rift. There is a mod you can use to make readings in the HUD bigger, but this is a beta and it's not advised to use mods in 1.5. This makes crashing and trying to find bugs more difficult.

  10. What do you mean by that's the point of the beta? I did report it, but have no idea what you mean when you say: "That's the point of a beta." I know what the point of a beta is, it's to test bugs and report them which is what I have done. Unfortunately, though, ED haven't yet stated it's a bug like they have done with others, so everyone's left wondering if it's something to do with their settings. That's why people are trying all sorts of different stuff like reinstalling this that and the other. I've tried hitting my machine with a hammer, but that didn't work either. The point is you can't fix something if this has something to do with Eagle Dynamics code, but with no word who knows?
  11. Same here, I just wish ED would confirm this is a bug like they have with other bugs in this section of the forum. This would stop people suggesting hundreds of different things to try and fix it. They have confirmed other crash bugs, so why not this one? The only one fix that did help before the latest patch was to change to Visa compatibility. Unfortunately, it no-longer works now and I crash right at the end of mission loading screen most of the time. I will send another log, but I'm not sure if it will do any good with no word from ED that it is a bug. Edit: @Frusheen - The hot fix mentions no fix for Oculus Rift crashes, it just mentions the color fixes, unless I'm mistaken.
  12. I wouldn't say the problem is fixed if you have to resort to doing all what you have done. I also don't see how "stopping the OC Service and killing all OC stuff in task manager" would make a difference to the Rift working or not. Also, what do you mean when you say make sure the OB is clean? Do you mean Oculus Beta? Edit: I just tried what you did and at times I still get crashes when mission is loading. So for me this still isn't fixed. I think ED need to at-least recognize there is a problem by confirming this in the Crash Bug section of 1.5.
  13. I am just redoing all my setting for 1.5, but something is bugging me. I have quite a few controllers plugged into my PC and DCS picks them all up in the settings. The problem I have with this is, do I have to select one setting at a time to clear these or can I clear more in one go? I have tried holding down Ctrl to see if it will select more but this doesn't work. So is there another way to do this because it's a right pain in the ass having to do one at a time.
  14. What pause key do you mean? Which key are you referring to on the keyboard? You could try this.
  15. As far as I can tell this statement is wrong. There is no mention in the patch notes about a crash fix for Dk2 and I'm still crashing even running vista compatibility mode now. The color issue is fixed, but certainly not the crashes.
  16. That's why I'm upgrading to Skylake and then waiting for pascal. I'll stick with my Geforce 970 until pascal is released now. But I did think Nvidia spoke about having two cards running a screen each . Anymore news on that? I've just realized, I'm going to be spending hugh amounts of money in the next year :helpsmilie:
  17. I know DCS is dependent on both CPU and GPU, but which one now effects performance most in 1.5? With the old DCS, it didn't really matter what Graphics card you had because it mainly required you to have a good CPU. But what does it mainly use now CPU or GPU?
  18. Yeah, I'm glad I got the DK2 because you might struggle to get the 180 FPS you need for CV1. I can't wait to see DCS in CV1 though, I bet it will be awesome.
  19. I think they'll optimize the low performing modules in time. Remember this is a beta and there will be lots of fixes over the coming weeks. But what do you mean by an option to dial things down? There are already plenty of options to dial things down in the DCS settings. Do you mean dial things down in the cockpit and what could you dial down in there if you do? You've already said the Ka-50s complicated cockpit works so I would have thought the others would after some tweaks.
  20. Why is the ground so lit up at night? Just tried flying around at 2am in the morning and was hoping to see nothing but the stars and lights from the buildings below. However, I was a bit disappointed to see the whole of the ground lit up like it was day in a glowing green. At some point wouldn't most of the ground be black from darkness apart from city lights? Does anyone know what season and time to set to make most of the ground black with just the city lit up? I tried this using the Oculus Rift, but I'll try it without the Rift if I can achieve this. But why is the ground lit up green so much?
  21. Reinstall everything.
  22. I would have thought having positional tracking is going to use more processing power, hence the reason you get better FPS in the Rift without positional tracking. I'm not certain about this though so someone who's has a better knowledge of this might help.
  23. You don't need everything on low if you have a half decent Pc. The only two settings to lower for free flight are Visibility to low and shadows off. You will have to upgrade your rig if you have something poor because Wags won't be able to fix that for you.
