The funny thing is, when I watched the video, I thought that can't be right. I always look to start an aircraft in this order Battery, Apu, Engine, Avionics, but I'm not sure if that's the correct way to do it.

I have just installed Windows 10 pro and I can't get the ThrustMaster MFDs installed. I have tried just about everything I know, but the lights just continue to just flash on & off. I googled to see what fixes are available, but I couldn't find any. I tried un-checking the the usb power management like some people have suggested in device manager, but it did nothing and the lights still continue to flash. Does anyone how I'm supposed to get these ThrustMaster MFD's to work in Windows 10 pro? Thanks!

Something doesn't look quite right when I'm flying low to the ground in a jet using DK2. The buildings and trees look far to small and the jet looks to big. The scale of things looks totally out, but I'm not sure why. Are all models in DCS the size they would be in real life? I know I remember seeing infantry in the old map and thinking they were far to big for the houses around them. If things haven't been scaled properly is there a reason for this? I'm thinking why couldn't they just make the infantry smaller or the houses bigger ect.

I've been looking at some startup videos for the mirage 2000, but I'm not sure which are the better ones. I'm looking for some that are true to life when starting the Mirage 2000. Anyone know which ones are true to life? Thanks!

Have we had this weeks news alraedy? Usually there is a news update on a Friday, but have we had it already due to the patch problems?

Does Tacview update automatically or do I have to get the latest exe file or something? Thanks!

I keep getting a bug where the lightning strikes and just creates an odd straight white line that looks nothing like lightning. Some of the lightning strikes look fine, but then this odd straight white line will pop up at other times. Obviously, it's very hard to take a screen shot of this, but I'm hoping someone can verify if it's a bug and if not how do I fix it? Thanks!
-
Did the fixes for this not make it into the latest patch? I just read the through the list of fixes and I saw no mention of these changes for the Mirage2000?
-
Don't want to sound thick here, but since I'm fairly new to this. When you are talking about slats are you meaning airbrakes? Cheers!
-
Will these fixes be in the patch that is due out next week? I really like flying this jet but I can't use it in it's current state in Multiplayer. I wiped someone out when lading in in multiplayer the other night and I'm a bit concerned I might get banned from some servers for doing this. I know some servers tell you to keep to the left when landing, but it's currently impossible to do that in the Mirage.

Cool - I think I might of been selecting the fuel tank on the PCA. I didn't expect the smoke pods to show no symbol on the PCA. Now I understand why the other guy said use like Magic missile. I think he was meaning where the Magic missile normally is, to press that like you have shown in the pic. I'll check this out later, I think it should work now. Thanks all.
-
I'm totally confused now to be honest. How many ways are there to release smoke? I thought there would be just one simple way, but it seems people here are saying totally different things here? So now I have to press the weapons release switch 3 times? Or the Smoke release switch 3 times when I can find it in the settings? I also have no idea what you mean by "G,D, both" Can you please explain what you mean by this. Cheers!
-
There must be something more to it because I already tried what I think you are suggesting. I selected the smoke pod in weapons control panel on the bottom row and flicked the arm switch to on. I then pressed the button I would normally use to fire a missile and no smoke appears. When you say you use them like Magics, what exactly do you mean by that? With the Magics you lock onto a jets or use them with radar to lock on to a jet, so it's a totally different weapon. Apart from selecting smoke pod like I would do for Magics, I'm not sure what else you mean? Cheers!
-
Can some please tell me how to get the smoke pods on the wing tips to work. I know you have to select them as part of your weapons load, but how do you get them to work after that? Cheers!

I think I spend more time in the setting in DCS then I do playing. Can someone please tell me how I can save my settings and not have to do them again. Let me explain the problem I'm having. I have a number of controllers including an Xbox 360 and also a Saitelk x52. The problem is that whenever I have to remove these and then plug them back in again, my xbox 360 for example will show up again in the DCS settings. Can anyone also explain what Save Profile as actually does in the DCS settings? I thought this might save your whole settings once you had finished selecting them, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I found this out after I setup the Mirage2000 and Saved Profile as Mirage2000.lua file. For testing purposes I then selected Load profile in the DCS settings and selected the mirage2000.lue. It's then I found out that all the settings I had changed hadn't been saved at all to this Mirgae2000.lua file I had created. Please someone put me out of the misery of constantly having to redo my settings.

Does anyone think just thinking about sickness can make you feel sick in the Rift? Maybe it's because I'm thinking I'm going to feel sick that makes me sick in First Person Shooters.
-
I'm thinking most people will not tolerate it given the amount of topics on the Internet there is about it. I've shown the DK2 to many friends and they have all left feeling sick or been sick after playing First Person shooters. I do hope the 90Hz is the sickness cure, but I'm very doubtful because they said the same thing about 75Hz.
-
@Rangi -I handled the cockpit game fine, but I still want to puke after about 20 mins in first person games. I have tried to get used to playing this type of game, but I just cant handle because it's such a bad feeling. Once I start feeling sick I feel like that for hour after and don't even want to look at the Rift because it makes me feel even more sick. Some people recommend chewing ginger while using it and all sorts of other things, but I'd probably be sick from chewing ginger because I hate the stuff LOL. Even though I fly jets mainly in DCS, I have to say the choppers are a blast in VR and are better then the Jets.
-
I wonder if 90Hz is going to be any better then 75Hz when it comes to sickness. I'm fine with 75Hz sat in a cockpit in DCS, but First person shooters make me sick after about 20 mins. I'm not sure if 90Hz is going to make much of a difference in First person shooters, but I really hope it does. I just wish there was some option to choose between 75Hz and 90Hz in CV1. I'm going to need an extra 30fps from somewhere for DCS and CV1 when it arrves. I already struggle to get constant 75FPS, so I might have to update to a Geforve 980ti or even a Titan Gp100 if it arrives in April.

I have now enabled snap view like it said to do in wiki, but once I have selected a view I wish to change using Lwin & Numpad 1 to 9. What are the keys that will allow me to move the view to where I want? There was a list of them somewhere, but I have searched for over an hour and cannot find the list of key commands anywhere. Thanks!
-
Before I created snap views easily by going into snap view and using keys to move to the view I required. Now none of these keys seem to work and I'm stuck with the silly default snap views. So is there a new list of keys or has something changed that will allow you to adjust snap views? I cant seem to find a list of key commands that even allow you to move the snap view like before? Anyone know where this list of key commands are?

A map that will run VR smoothly, so made with VR in mind. It's not really a map for VR if it judders like Nevada does in parts. Timewarp might help with that, but they already said timewarp has been implemented. Reducing things in a map like buildings would help you to increase frame rate giving you a better VR experience without reducing res. There's plenty of places that someone could build a map around that doesn't have large cities.
-
It doesn't have to be low res map, I've already explained that some parts of the Nevada map work fine in the Rift and these are parts that are not low res. Derek was also right about someone picking up on double sided polygons or something that caused frames to drop, so there is some tweaking there to be done.
-
Sure it's taken VR into account, it's not like you need massive cities in every map. But forget about VR for a second then. Why do you think there is less detail around parts of the Nevada map even without VR? It's because they have to slash the detail to make things run at an expectable frame rate. The same goes for VR slash things to make things run better. I think a map for VR is a good idea for the current Edge engine. I'm not really bothered about huge cites when I fly jets because I don't see much of them. You can already fly over parts of the Nevada map and have a good Rift experience, but it's a different story when you try to fly over Vegas. Edit: BTW - I'm not suggesting every map should be made to run VR smoothly. I'm just saying it would be nice to have one map that runs smoothly, even though the old map does quite a good job until you start adding ai to the mix.
-
Well it's simple really. The Devs just added VR to DCS World, so maps like Nevada weren't exactly built with VR in mind. Hence the reason your FPS are all over the show when playing the Nevada map with DK2. A map with less buildings for example would give better FPS as would many other tweaks you could do. You also don't need a super computer to run VR. Like I mentioned already, the dcs devs just added VR to their sim, they didn't build their game around it like some others devs are doing. You only have to look at games like EVE Valkyire that was built for VR to know you don't need a Super computer to play these games. I can play Eve Valkyrie with a Geforce 970 at a constent 75FPS with my settings maxed out.
