I'm asking if the clouds are supposed to work in NTTR map after reading this guys post (Link Below.) I haven't seen any clouds in this map even though I have messed about with the settings. I have now done the exact settings as the guys in the link I have posted and I still only see blue sky. I just took it that clouds were kust switched off in the Alpha when they haven't worked for me, but after reading his post and seeing he had cloud layers, I'm not sure anymore. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=154441 Update: Actually, I had the settings wrong and it now works. How do I delete my post though when I make a thread and find it's no-longer needed?

On/Off toggle switches in DCS 2?
joebloggs replied to Zeke's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Why don't you get an ON/ON switch. I have these for the A10C and don't have to mess with the lua files. -
Why not? Obviously you wouldn't add these objects to a VR map if they were causing a problem. If you were making a VR map from scratch it would be up to you what you added. Even making a fairly plain map, if that's what was required for VR would be good. This would allowed you to add more ai without getting the dread judder and it would be great for VR. The NTTR map was never designed for VR, the Devs just added VR to DCS because it came along. I think they have done a great job at introducing it to DCS, but now it's upto a map maker or ED themselves, to make a map that works well with VR. I'm sure most people with a VR headset would agree with me on this.

Simshaker: which airframe effects to implement next
joebloggs replied to =Andre='s topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Sorry, but I don't have a clue what your on about. What is supposed to shake with SimShaker? -
If you think that's wallet damage, try spending £1300 on a new computer like I have. Plus add the Mirage and NTTR map to that and top it of with a good pair of speakers. Now that's what I call wallet damage :)

Simshaker: which airframe effects to implement next

How much does this cost? I don't see a price anywhere on the website. -
Does anyone if DK2 uses MSAA in the setting of DCS? I just changes mine from 2x to 16x and have no judder at all. Before MSAA used to have a massive hit on performance in DCS, so I'm just wondering if it makes a difference in DCS now or if it's somehow switched off.

So will this app support 2.0 once it's out of the Alpha stage and officially released? I bought the app, but haven't been able to use since 1.5. I was having problems with it in the old DCS though with the CDU freezing at times or not updating properly. I think there was an update to fix the CDU issue though, but I never got to try it out.

You post tells you not to move the throttle at all during start up and that's kind of wrong. I'm told that once you get to around 15% you are supposed to roll the throttle forwards out of the idle position and get it to 40%. Then when it gets to around 60% I was told to turn it all the way up, but I'm also getting a flame when I do it this way though. What am I doing wrong? My throttle stays at 15% if I don't take it out of the idle position, so I have to roll it forward to get it up to 40%. Can someone please post the correct procedure because it's becoming confusing with different posts. Thanks!

When you say: "Many other Scenery models with double polygon cause fps." I don't think that is something ED would change right now for VR. I admire your work on this, but I think it will only come to fruition once someone decides to make a VR map that's made from scratch and has VR in mind. You only have to look at how popular something like Elite Dangerous became to know there's a market for VR. The new Edge engine allows you to place many objects on the map at once, so someone making a VR map could add lots of detail and make it a very good VR experience. Who knows, maybe Ed will do this themselves as soon as VR takes off next year, I know I would.
-
Any map makes volunteering to make a VR map without any judder? You could add quite a bit of detail to it without getting any judder with the new edge engine and it would be huge success with VR about to be released next year. I can't see ED making one just for VR, but someone must be rubbing their hands thinking it's a good idea. I know i'd make one if I could.

I just cold booted and it seems to have done no harm.

I just played 2.0 Nevada and thought I'd play 1.5 for a bit. When I clicked on it it updated something and now I'm stuck on a message screen that reads "Updating myself." I have been stuck on this screen for the last 15 and it doesn't look to be doing anything.Anyone know what I should do?

You don't need to set all setting to high when using the Rift. You won't notice when some of the settings are tuned down in the Rift because of the Rifts resolution. But it makes a big difference to performance if you have them all set to high. You should turn Visibility to medium, Water to low and Shadow off. You will see a big increase in performance if you do this and it will still look just as good in the Rift. Infact, I think leaving shadows ON makes things look worse.

I hope at sometime someone can make a map for VR where there is no judder. This is possible now that edge is out, it just requires some who wants to do it and I'm sure it will be a big hit for VR fans.

You should buy "Voice activated Command" like I have and then you just use you voice to activate anything in the radio. A guy called fish mapped out all the radio commands for the A10C, but you can setup your own and its not hard to use. [ame] [/ame]

So no TeamSpeak Newbies to learn things together? I think something like this would be good for online play. I'd like to learn things with other players rather then sit reading a manual and playing on my own for hours on end.

I would be more concerned if there was a lot of noise. I can't see them not releasing it at the end of the month now. I think we would have heard something by now if they weren't going to release it. Can you imagine the disappointment if they left it right until the last minute to say it's been delayed.
-
Yes, I remember the news letter. I was talking about the community not really saying a lot about it. I don't seem to be able to find the thread about Nevada though, so maybe that's why.
-
Forgot to ask is Nevada still due at the end of this month? Nobody seems to be talking about it anymore.
-
Who cares, it's not like they are charging the earth for it. I paid and I'm looking forward to it. They have worked hard on it and the ones who are getting it free are just lucky in my opinion, but so what good for them.

[DUPLICATE]This a bug in the A10C? The lighting?
joebloggs replied to joebloggs's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Must be one that's been around for sometime then because I had it on my old Pc. Makes night mission a bit difficult. Anyone know when the expected fix time for this is? -
Please look at the Pic included. I have a new computer now, but I had the same thing on my old computer, which leads me to think this is a bug. Can someone tell me if the lighting in the A10C is supposed to be like this? I find it hard to believe it's normal because I cannot see any switches in the front part of the cockpit if I don't turn up my brightness on my screen. Isn't it supposed to be lit up at the front like it is at the back?

I find Hyper Threading gives me stutters so I've disabled that.
