Cool your jets guys, this isn't War Thunder. What are the chances people will make maps with corsairs and 109's going head to head? I'm all for it and any other plane that ED or a 3rd party wants to toss into the mix. That's just more planes and scenarios for us to choose from. I can't speak for everyone, but I also think that a 190A/109G mix would be more interesting. I'd buy those in a heart beat. The new models I can't really relate to, even though I am glad to have them.

Probably one of the best videos relating to the love people have for the spitfire. This guy literally cries in the cockpit. Must have been amazing.

Good to hear it's working.

Planes visibility and smooth online gameplay in DCS 2.0?
Gunrun_KS replied to Kwiatek's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
I wonder if the stutters have anything to do with hardware/server/internet issues? Ever since I upgraded for DCS it's been running like a dream. 90% of my gameplay is online. -
Im thinking there wont be too much difference transitioning from 51 to 47. 51 is already outclassed in most things besides turning with the dora. Even then when you start turning with a dora you're bound to get jumped by others so it's never a good idea. An outclassed plane needs a smart pilot and tons of situational awareness. Ive been flying river raiders a lot and with that comes terrain familiarization. Ive been able to get 3 to 1 ( loss to runway crashes mostly). Most of the success is just from climb and suprising people from above. Ive also dropped my resolution from 1920 to 17 something. Works really well for me.

 no problem!

Hey Tako, I am getting friendly flight reports. Just depends on the channel. I'm not sure which but I get their chatter with the tower and also chatter when they are on targets on plane to plane channel.

Hey Jim, Welcome to DCS! I was able to scrounge up a key sheet http://www.m-merkert.de/files/p-51-v1121-default.pdf and http://hogpits.net/temp/DCS%20P-51D%20Keycard.pdf I can also help with the logitech when I get home. Hopefully someone will jump on it before then. Happy flying! --------------------------------------- Just some ideas I tossed out. These are the things I use the most when I am flying but everyone's preference will be different. I grouped the buttons accordingly. If I remember right the Logitech 3D has 12 buttons.. 1 Bomb arming switch right (rotary) 3 Bomb arming switch left (rotary) 4 bomb-rocket selector switch (rotary) 2 Rocket release control switch (rotary) Pov Hat - views in cockpit 5 gun fire 6 weapons release 10 flaps up 7 flaps down 11 gear 8 oil dilute 12 radiator coolant open 9 radiator oil open Slider - Manifold pressure or RPM (would have to figure this out to your liking since there is only one slider) Twist - Yaw axis

Public inquiry. What is your PC video card?

DX 11 and 780 GTX  Runs great with DCS. -
River Raiders River Raiders is probably one of the easiest maps to navigate. You don't need a heading. You have the river that takes right to the bridge objective and past that it takes you straight into all the other objectives and where are the dogfighting occurs. Just look at the map. The server has never given me a problem.

U.S. player here. Primarily on DoW server, but I usually don't get on until between 10pm and 12 am eastern time. Usually after a mission of Arma 3 with friends. I would put in a lot more hours but life gets in the way of that unfortunately.

Nice find. Love WWII documents. I'll give it a looksy when I have a chance to.

Will the Skies over Normandy be populated?!
Gunrun_KS replied to Celestiale's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
I'm sure a new map and a new plane (Spitfire/P47) will definitely put us in a really good spot once DCS releases them. I've been thinking something that would really open up the western theater would be adding some kind of twin engine fighter for each side. The possibility of missions would be endless with just those two planes alone. It would put a lot of emphasis on night fighting and ant-shipping. It would also open up another mission for the fighters having to cover them or intercept. As much as i would love to fly or even escort B17s. I think this would be more bang for your buck and more of an addition to the theater and collection. Any thoughts? -
I was thinking different sizes of bombs for mostly the WWII prop planes.
-
I'm under the impression that the GP bombs will have wiggle around the center point of gravity which would be the yellow line on the bomb. My guess is that as long as it is not tumbling like napalm or a jettison its fine. Most of the bomb footage I've seen, the bombs weren't very stable in flight. Maybe the characteristics would be similar? While we are on the topic, does anyone know if we will be getting different bomb loadouts? Small in the grand scheme of things though.
-
Future addon? Could implement it under F8:Ground crew.
-
IIRC it was scheduled for March 2015. I'm sure that's subject to change.
-
k 14 would be nice but i think they were rockin' the mk 8 reflector. I could be wrong though.

A later model 190 would be the only thing on the other side of the fence that would spark some interest for me. As for the British, a Typhoon/Tempest would be lovely. The spit will be very welcome on the blue side, keep the 109/190's on their toes. I'll stay with the mustang though until the thunderbolt arrives. -
I agree! Thanks again, all the help is very appreciated.

Friedrich, I went over all the Pre and start up. But I found my mistake: - Check oil pressure - oil temp to 40C - suction gauge - after the engine is warmed up, idle at 1000 rpm or slightly less. This keeps the engine clean but not too hot. Worked like a charm! Mike, Before I was going straight to max cruise. I'll give that a try also.
-
Effte, Was that in relation to keeping radiator open? Friedrich, Normal for me is being right at the edge of killing my engine when it comes to coolant and oil. So I usually feel I am not getting all the power I can running at max cruise to keep the plane well under overheating. Right after take off my coolant temp is almost maxed out. So I open up the radiator and leave it there for the remainder of my flight and I have no problems running max continuous. Should I toss it back into auto? Oil pressure is super high also but I've found that holding the oil dilute brings it back down to inside the norm.
-
Radiator open good/bad? Is there a down side to opening the radiator coolant/oil and leaving them open? I've had a lot less over heating since I managed to figure it out. Sorry if this has been answered before but I searched and didn't find anything, even in the manual I have printed out.
