  1. Just the CPU swap. 3800X to 5800x3d. Running OXR. Tried to keep other things as consistent as I could. I alt-tabbed in and out a few times to make sure the numbers on the telemetry wouldn't change drasticaly when I tried to snip the shots and it didn't. You can see when I had DCS focused and when I didn't via the frame time graph at the bottom. When it's active then DCS is active. With both CPUs and in both shot angles the FPS was fluctuating a bit so I tried to kinda capture it when it wasn't at the top or bottom spikes. I don't like that exactly but I think the numbers represent what's happening. I'm sure there's a way to graph an average but I'm just not that interested in spending the time to set it up. In general it shows clearly that it helps tremendously to raise the FPS when it's on the low side. I suspect this will help MPO a LOT. I flew around a bit afterwards and It's quite nice.
  2. Tower View... 28FPS and some telemetry on the left. 3800X@4.3Ghz 12GB3080 64GBMem@3600 Tower View... 38FPS and some telemetry on the left. 5800x3d@4.45Ghz 12GB3080 64GBMem@3600 Ocean View... 75FPS and some telemetry on the left. 3800X@4.3Ghz 12GB3080 64GBMem@3600 Ocean View... 79FPS and some telemetry on the left. 5800x3d@4.35Ghz 12GB3080 64GBMem@3600
  3. All that... AND it also works before 6PM... Just FYI...
  4. Yeah apparently I only read a few of the posts. Just went back and re-read the whole thing and clearly it's not heat related... My bad.
  5. It's nice to see AMD regain their rightful place as the CPU performance leader... OG K6-2 owner here LOL....
  6. Not worth the wait for me :). I found one for $400 so I'm good.
  7. Just bought one :)... Can't wait for it to get here
  8. Try going into the advanced options in Open Composite switcher and manually set all to OXR. If they already are then set to SVR and then back to OXR. May or may not work but has for me in the past :).
  9. There's also a slider in DCS that controls helmet audio but I don't recall which one it is.
  10. Try opening open composite switcher and select advanced (I think that's it... I'm not in front of my system) and then choose each app in there and set them to OXR. If they are, set them to SVR and then back to OXR.
  11. Has to be a free map...
  12. I didn't say there are no issues friend :)... People have issues with everything. What was said is that having a good experience was not typical... Well yes it is. The absolute VAST majority of people don't have problems. That's what "typical" means. "most common" etc... But there are also plenty of folks that do have problems
  13. His experience is typical... No need to try to overinflate issues YOU are having and try to pass them off as the norm. Sorry you're having trouble but the device is great :). I hope you get it working.
  14. "And a comment for the "purists" who think it's cheating in VR:" The entire argument makes no sense. Not even sure why it's worth a comment... The 2D folks get snap views... Everyone who uses TiR runs curves... I think someone was trolling you and poked you in a soft spot maybe? Don't worry about it :)...
  15. Just a kudos and thank you... I hadn't played DCS in a while... a few driver updates, windows updates including 22H2, A few DCS updates that I never ran... I fired it up last night and it ran SteamVR. I think I had turned off OXR through OC for some reason a while back. I thought "screw it... I'm just gunna play it's all good..." and fired up the SA5 mission on Syria for the Apache. Killed it a few times... Guns and AGM's... was fun. I then jumped into the Low Level Hell mission for the Mustang on the Channel... Super fun. Killed a few 190's. When I got done and it was close to time for me to hit the sack I decide to take a look at getting OXR working so I can play today after work... I updated all the pieces, ran OC and set it to SVR, then back to OXR, then checked the advanced settings... All apps were still set to use SVR... So I changed them... no biggie... Then I fired up DCS again... Yeah... Kudos and Thank you. I immediately noticed the better clarity on the Mig-29 in the hangar and jumped into the Low Level Hell mission and the smoothness was WAY better. That mission runs kinda slow at my option settings (I've got shadows and stuff enabled) but with OXR it runs great anyway...
  16. Turn that off. It runs super smooth down to 30FPS without motion smoothing... Just turn it off. It's not the same ball of wax as SVR. It's not needed.
  17. I mean it has a few quirks, but... It seems pretty easy to fly to me. I have a ton of time in the Shark and a bit in the Hind. I feel it just needs a couple small tweaks maybe but it's not "bad" or even difficult IMO...
  18. I meant radio attenualtion/transmission effects cause by weather :). Especially tricky in MP I would assume?
  19. If we do can we remove a sticky?
  20. I assume you're calling frame rate "performance"??? Try to just get a sense for which one is smoother. OXR will almost always be smoother than SteamVR even at a slightly lower frame rate. The only reason you really want Framerate is for a numerical smoothness confirmation... The REAL thing you need is smoothness. OXR is almost always smoother.
  21. Wholy agree there for sure. I had no idea CiriBob :)... Thank you... From your perspective is there anything then that you can't do with SRS compared to a built in solution? Just the weather then??
